I didnt know anything about Lara, but when i first heard her sing i just got goosebumps all over,her voice is such a powerful instrument, she's truly blessed....she can SING!!!!!!!!

She managed not to have her voice overwhelmed by an entire orchestra and that's truly amazing, to say the least.

After seeing all her performances and I mean ALL her performances of Adagio as a fan of Lara Fabian for 4 years, Ive come to the conclusion that this is her BEST rendition of this song. Her notes are perfect, just almost the same as the original song, and in addition, the orchestraas "Bumbarashkadadada" said: Musicians at height were! The orchestra is very well used! The theme violin perfectly sounds and play all musical theme Adagio Albiony!

Not matter if he sings in Italian or English, what matters is that she has a voice thrilling and extraordinarily clever in interpreting the songs. Fantastic.

Celine and Lara are mezzosopranos, they use their head voice too, when you talk about the voice, there are different types of voice (tenor, soprano, mezzo, etc) : light, lyric, spinto, dramatic....

Lara is a lyric soprano (I'm pretty sure as I'm also a lyric and she has mentioned that she's a lyric), she has used alot of chest in her singing so her lyric voice tends not to come out unless you hear her versions of songs like Addio del Passato. Also, mezzo voices tend to have a thicker timbre.
Sarah is a soubrette-coloratura, which is a higher soprano type. I'm not as familar with Sissel but I would think she's also a coloratura.

well...the fact that she's not a soprano, i bet you, does not mean she's not so fabulous on stage, of course i love her voice and the way she express all those feelings of love, hurt, whatever.
but she's a mezzosoprano and that's not bad. it's fantastic.

she's not a soprano, she 's mezzo, see a video of Sarah Brightman's version of Adagio (Anytime Anywhere) and you can see the difference between a soprano and a mezzosoprano. Both girls are amazing when they perform this masterpiece.

@gosty111 maybe you're right, but what i tried to say is Lara don't use her head voice to sing, just her chest voice and you can't say that is a Soprano, i would like to a video that i cand see using her soprano voice. Anyway i love her chest voice and her music.

the italian version is the best!!
it doesn't matter the vocal timbre, but the range you fit in; of course, one could be a mezzo but reach high soprano top notes and one could be a soprano and reach notes from an alto-s lower register; therefore, timbre does not define range, but the personality of the voice. for eg, i am mezzo but i have a light timbre and i also can sing in an alto voice. now how twisted is that?:P My guess is that lara is a high mezzo but with a rich timbre (but is only a guess:P)

@Forever1Charmed well i'm musician, well trying to be one. In my case, for example, for some songs i sing them with my tenor voice and others with countertenor voice. In the case she's a soprano, ican't see the video u sent me, but in this video she sings with her chest voice, doesn't she?
