Recent comments were from 12.4. I don't forsee this not improving with the amount of data and money they are feeding it. Commercial aircraft have had autopilot for almost a hundred years without AI. The future for this tech is amazing. Ships, planes, trains, semi, delivery, taxi. Hell, who knows. Maybe even formula 1 or Nascar someday as we become society full of beta computer nerds. 😅😅😅

@@Richard-cq4kv Get a clue? I just drove .4 and .6 for a month. Too many critical disengagements for basic tasks such as lane merges. And FSD does not recognize fire engines or other first responders, to the point where I had to to intervene before my car crossed the double yellow at an accident scene, to get around everyone! People on stretchers.... cops directing traffice.... it didn't give a fk ! It just wanted to pass everyone. Lol. NOT EXACTLY SAFE BEHAVIOR! But this will all get fixed within a year.

The thing is that these kinds of scenarios are hard to replicate and test for but the more scenarios like this that comes up the easier it is for the model to solve. Think of it like having a teenager driving for the first time but he is driving a billion miles a month. He's eventually going to learn how to behave in every conceivable scenario. It's just a matter of time and it's not years it's months.

Tesla sales are down in the USA, they are also down all over the markets they are in, what is being missed is nearly every auto maker is also reporting sales and profits down, most reporting far much worse than Tesla.
Tesla sales could be as much as 40% down in Europe.

You got it! If TESLA solves the FSD, robotaxis will bring incredible positive changes: Reduction of parked cars in cities because nobody has to own one, available at any time and for everyone, no hassle with breakdowns and much more.
It is said that one robotaxi replaces 40 cars. But in the beginning there will be many more, maybe 100-200, because there are millions of people who only have their car parked around and maybe only need it for a short time every 1-2 weeks.
Two million TESLA cars could make 100-200 million cars redundant. The used car market will be flooded and old combustion cars will become unsaleable.
I seriously doubt it. American would not give up their freedom of transportation, at least not soon.
At best robotaxis is five years away.
In the meantime Tesla would lose sales to competitions from China.
Not producing cheaper cars is probably the biggest mistake Tesla just made.
I did a back of the napkins calculation on cost of robo taxi compared to personally owned vehicle. If robo taxi is 1.00 per mile, it's not that big of a cost savings. I drive 1500 miles per month. My all in auto expense is less than 1000, minus drive train repair.
If someone farmed out his Tesla into the Robotaxi service for extra income he would blow out his Telsa warranty in a little over a year.
