If you have multiple subnet or network, you have to configure DHCP relay agent on windows server or DHCP helper address settings on cisco routers. So your DHCP clients from one network to reach (or communicate) with your DHCP server or WDS server in other subnet.
when I reboot the VM it says that that technology is now deprecated and that I should use Microsoft Deployment toolkit and Microsoft Configuration Manager. Maybe you can upload a training about this. Thanks, you are the best!
Are deploying Windows 11? For Windows 11 you have to use MDT. But there is a fix: 1. Add Windows 10 Boot image to WDS. 2. Add Windows 11 Install image to WDS. 3. On client select Windows 10 boot image during wds image selection process. 4. During Install image selection, choose Windows 11 image. This will allows you to deploy windows 11 without MDT.
I'm currently trying to follow your Tutorial but my Virtual box can't see my WDS server. It gives me : FATAL ERROR: Could not read from the boot medium. System halted I can boot from the WDS through a physical machine but if I go through a Virtual box it doesn't work. Any pointers would be appreciated.
Unfortunatelly i'm getting error during installation: "tftp://IP/win10.pxe ... Permission denied No More network devices" Could you tell me which NIC in Vbox did u use?
I have been following your guide buy when i try to boot from the network I am getting a NBP is too big to fit in free base memory. Any ideas on why I am getting this error? I can't seem to find anything useful on Google.
@@MSFTWebCast OK thanks I just added a new DHCP subnet to the server that I installed the WDS on and that did the trick. Appreciate the help and the videos!

You are a Legend! Love your tutorial videos. Straight forward and easy to understand. Thank you!
absolutely lovely video. thank you very much sir.
TY but you need to go into the network configuration to show people how these computers are communicating in the network
Noted.
Exactly
Sadly for those of us who have DHCP on a different server/subnet than WDS, there's a bit more that needs to be done. Thanks for the video!

@@MSFTWebCast Thank you! I assume DHCP IP address is what goes into the IP Address helper, yes?
@@GabrielMontenegro-k5n Yes. The command will be "ip helper-address .
thx for your nice arrangement video for installing w 10 using WDS

Did you modify the boot order of Virtual machine? to boot using Network?

@@GDBBites Is virtualbox extension pack is installed? If not then install it and make sure virtualbox is up to date.
@@MSFTWebCast I didn't know I had to install an extension pack. I will check that when I get back to work on Monday. Thank you for answering me BTW.

Most of time I used Internal Network adapter in VM and also I have disabled VirtualBox DHCP service.

I have been following your guide buy when i try to boot from the network I am getting a NBP is too big to fit in free base memory. Any ideas on why I am getting this error? I can't seem to find anything useful on Google.
Two possible reasons:
1. Check the DHCP configuration settings related to PXE.
2. Check BIOS mode: Legacy Mode or UEFI mode.

People just won't be able to say yay I'm installing then they won't see the DC, DHCP and thus won't get an IP and won't never see the DC WDS

0xc0000005 if there are no proper folder permissions for clients , please explain when computers do not reside on the demonstration machine in vm's.
I think the error is for access denied while accessing the RemoteInstall Folder. Did you change permission on that folder?
mdt & adk installations and configuration is required or not ?
For only WDS? Not at all..
How to create virtual machine in virtual box that you have already created in this video after 1:25 ?
in virtual box, there will be a button at the top toolbar that says "new" click that and create a Vm as normal.
What this person doesn't tell you is that your new Windows wds installation has to be in the same network as the DC
Can you install via WiFi using this method or does it have to be on an Ethernet connection?
has to be ethernet

Most probably problem with your DHCP server. Check out DHCP scope options.
Is it on physical machine or in virtual machine? As I have seen this error many time in VMWare.
@@MSFTWebCast I'm experiencing the same error on VMWare, any idea what's causing this?
do i need a windows server volume license for that?
no
