thank you walking girl, i was hoping to go to san Sebastian that day but off course we were not able to fly, i did manage to watch la Copa here in England and celebrate with my friends via WhatsApp but it is just not the same. i have just returned from there and we had an amazing weekend, how nice your people are because when i say thank you to them they say to me, "no we thank you for coming to see us and to share our beautiful city"
Kaixo!
Ah, San Sebastián: they told me it was the fairest littoral city in all Spain. Well, for setting, agreed. That cute wee curve of bay with the mini-islands is, indeed, reminiscent of a small-scale version of Rio. But the city? The truth? For me, it has about 3 streets and Plaza Consti. to see, but the rest is nothing but a sprawling, apartment-blockey bathetic let-down. Lift San Sebastián up, plonk it 200 miles inland and it would be what it really is: a vaguely modern-looking nondescript town with a rather small, but not unattractive, Old Town, based on one mildly attractive plaza, and, frankly, little else. Unless you like the pintxos bars.
@@mikelaranaetxarri2934 Kudos for your honesty. You’re the first person I’ve encountered in a very long time who doesn’t automatically defend the city of their birth, without trying to see it objectively. San Sebastián is very pleasant and for setting it’s right up in the top 5, at least, in Spain. But the actual architecture of the city I find very underwhelming aside from the main plaza and a few streets. Even Bilbao’s Casco Viejo I find more attractive than SS’s. But for me, Vitoria, of the 3 main Basque cities, is far and away the most attractive and interesting architecturally. I’ll leave aside Pamplona for another day and debate about whether it *really* counts as ‘Basque’.
