Next time, when sombody told me that Matt doing only beginners guides - I simply said that is not right! I'm learning Unreal almost 2 years and this guide was extrimely helpful! Thank you!
I did do something like this before, I had added an image to the BP for the falling Blueprint, the image was set to invisible, when played, that way I can find the blueprint when it's been added to the level, if I wanted to move it around. I learned it from Jackson's games.
Hey Matt, I've been a subscriber since forever but was wondering if you would mind doing a video on saving & loading but in greater detail? Specifically I am really struggling with creating save games that save the level, player location & rotation etc etc and then being able to load that from your menu with either a continue button or load game button. I know this comment will most likely get drowned out in the sea of other comments of people in need but if you do see this I would greatly appreciate the help. I am wanting to make longer games but its been a great source of depression not being able to get this right & I can't find any straight forward, no nonsense tutorials which is why I like and appreciate your content so much. Thank you in advance. Aaron
Awesome vid! I was womdering if you could make a tutorial on runtime terraforming/deforming becaise there are no tutorials out there. What could help is using the voxel plugin. We would really appreciate it
Hello, that's an awesome tutorial, but I would like to know what's in the save player location function, is it like when saving the game, or is that completely different ?
Can you make a power up pick up sistem tutorial ?? something like: when you hit a specific object gives you a random power up and after a specific time the object respawns ...
Hi, thanks for the tutorial ! However, my character wears a mesh/object allowing him to earn points. Do you have any idea how my character could lose his mesh through his respawn ? Thanks again for all these tutorials !
How would we go about taking the player back to a checkpoint they crossed? I currently have a checkpoint system in place but don't know how to get the custom teleport zone to work with the checkpoints.
Thanks for the tutorial! Problem I'm having is that after I teleport, I lose the ability to walk, and my health bar remains unfilled (at 0%). Seems like I need to do something to reset that functionality once the player is teleported? Any ideas?
Nevvaamind I figured it out. I wasn't refilling my health after teleporting, so my player was still "dead" after being teleported. After the teleport node, I "Set Player Health" back to 100% and it gave back player functionality :) Leaving this here for any future dummies like me
Figured it out. For anyone who has this issue, if you are already using "event begin play" for something else, instead of creating a custom event for the last step, create a "sequence node" connect "Event beginplay" to the left of it, connect "Then 0" to the thing that was originally using the event, and connect "Then 1" to a new "Save Player Location.

Awesome tutorial. Thanks Matt, this will be extremely useful for many game types.
Happy to hear that! All the best to you!
Another year of and Matt continues to bring us exactly what we need!
Thank you so much for this. been wanting to implement a no kill fall and now I have it. Great job
first, I was waiting for the video
simple and to the point. thanks bro
This tutorial is a really good general use teleport zone and I am using it as a damaging death barrier

I think it would be cool if you could do a tutorial on enemies being able to open doors when walking, but when running they break them. Just a thought
Do you think you could do a tutorial on ai pawn sensing after taking posession of lets say a vehicle?

Thanks Matt.

I suppose you have to link this BP to the checkpoint. Will be testing this on Monday and will report back

Glad to hear you solved your issue, thanks for putting your solution for others to see too :)
How am I able to do the same thing when my character stocks into a mesh
You could do the same thing, just move the blueprint to where you want the player to be in order to be teleported
Sir please make video on car enter and exit button for android phone in unreal engine
