- Hi All!
In this video I’ll be showing y’all what it is like working overnight at Walmart as an stocker. If you’re looking for a job that you can do full time overnight or interested in having another job this video is for you.
An overnight stocker at Walmart will restock shelves for retail stores outside of opening hours, ensuring that all items are displayed neatly and labeled with prices.
I worked at Walmart as an overnight employee for about a good 5months. I’ve learned the good and the bad, so if you like this type of video don’t forget to like and share and also subscribe I’d appreciate it really much as I will be starting a new journey to trucking school & life.

Not a big fan of Walmart, but man do I love a job where it's just me and the work. I also have an almost unhealthy obsession with sorting and completing checklists.
HR is not your friend. They are not there to help you they are only there to protect the company. Do not give them any personal information other than your name, phone number, address and stuff like that. Definitely don't discuss any medical conditions you have with them and don't talk about your private life with them.
Sounds exactly like the government and police. Police aren't there to serve and protect we the people. They are there to protect the government and the people above.
@@Ash-pg1mp Do you really need to be told why, its self explanatory
What’s HR?
@@Carlos-tc4td Human resources (HR) is the division of a business responsible for finding, recruiting, screening, and training job applicants. HR departments also handle employee compensation, benefits, and terminations
That should be common sense but some people learn the hard way. When I work I go and do my duties and go home after that.
I used to work overnight in the apparel department n it was so chill. I’d listen to youtube vids n podcasts all night, easy money. I hated when they pulled me to help in another department though, people were always in my way and for some reason I felt like I had to move faster in other areas
O n e of the best videos on overnight stocking. Thanks for the narrated voice overlay . Most stocker videos are are narrated to the camers microphone in a whisper and thus un intelligable .
At 5:34 you have to cover up the big barcode with your hand and scan the little barcode. It will give you the aisle location
I used to do stocking at Walmart and the work honestly wasn’t that bad once you get the rhythm of everything. The only thing that sucked was when we had to unload trucks. That cat litter no joke 😭
Do overnight stockers have to unload?
As someone who doesn't talk much and is shy as people put it I always think a stocking job would be great for me. Though I prefer a smaller store instead of a big store to work at myself.
Princess, the key is yours. You know yourself more than anyone. Go for it!

Oh thank you ! But I have one more question. Aren't you suppose to be strong to carry the boxes around and if you have to stock something on top of a shelf does height matter? Im short so I can't stock something on the very top of a shelf.
@@biri_o an you're gonna need a top stock shelf no matter the height , ESPECIALLY when you top stock items , an heres another tip , when you break down a pallet an fill your carts up ? Make sure you organize them by aisle , an if you worked overnight ? You could always staged those items too to make you even more efficient .
Smaller stores are the BEST stores , cause you get paid the same amount you would if you worked for the supercenters while doing way Less .
Wow what a great video everyone else is almost er the place you spoke nice and clear slow and I thank you for being honest...
I haven’t watched the full video but I’m so glad someone puts stuff in the right place. I work in a dept on first. 3rd leave all our freight plus when they do stock they plug bad. And we have all shifts to run in 8 hours. I’m so stressed. So if no one in ur store thanks u. Thank u.

Thank you so much for sharing your video and what it’s like to work overnight. I was on GM 2-11pm and where I live, they pay overnights $14.50. I would’ve switched, BUT that location has the worst overnight management and ghettos customers so I left it. I’m on food service but I’m thinking of applying to another Walmart location and going for overnights because I really hated getting yelled at by customers. Thank you again! ❣️

I can only imagine if there as only few people working there . The overwhelment
Will start my 3rd day on Monday. I hope I can survive & not make a fool of myself
Are you still working there
@@yncpollo Yes I am still working at Walmart. 2 months have passed & at first, I was excited and was liking my job but after the time passes I got quite bored being a stocker. My team leader has been putting me in dairy lately & it's been a lot of work because I have to separate the yogurt, cheese & deli into separate pallets.
I applied for overnight stocker. I'm not used to getting paid bi-weekly and I chose this job because I'm an anti-social person. My anxiety gets bad when I'm around other people lol...is this really a good first job for me? I'm really scared.
If your the kind of person that likes staying up or just doesn’t mind staying up at all than this is the one & yes you will have less people to interact with but spoilers you may just have a few interactions here & their. Plus may I suggest you can bring in coffee or any other drink that’ll keep you awake.

Hey Flay! I’m glad this helped you. Thank you for watching
Just curious when your start time and end time was ?
I'm aplying to work overnight like Home Depot Freight/Receiving becasue i hate customer service especialllly the rude people who give u attittude. Is walmart overnight stocking a good job and easy to do, also wat time is overnight from begininng to end.
What happens if you don’t finish all the pallets? Do the morning crew finish it? Are you forced to stay until it’s finished?
It depends, sometimes some employees would stay to finish some, but majority of the pallets goes back since customers are shopping when the stores are open.
I'm told at my Walmart that the managers have to finish off the pallets. So we finish them and try not to bring back stock.
How much do they pay you I work at amazon I'm trying to find a job closer to home
Would this be a good job for introverts? Do you work totally alone? The 3 Walmarts we have in my city are constantly hiring overnight stockers. Thanks
Depending on The size of your overnight team, you will either be by yourself or with a small team doing a area. But for the most part overnight is good for introvert cause to busy to talk around. Especially if you don't want to interact.
There’s a reason that the position is always open. Don’t do it to yourself.
It depends wer ur section is.if u work in groceries.usually 3 people in whole 16 aisles and u help each other
Before, there still ppl coming in asking u to locate items and such but after covid, my store closes at night so there were no costumers to deal with. Overall its not as bad as u think it is. It defo helps me come outta my shell.
@@Keyspirits I hated cap 2 I never do it again between management and ppl it's erkin
I applied for overnight stocker but I don’t speak english to much I don’t know if it will be easy for me
Do you think I should be a stocker I really don't talk to people I think this job would be good for me
I recently got fired from Walmart as a day sticker. It was so stressful cuz they would have me stock huge pallets and nothing was sorted, so I had to be walking around every aisle to stock items. And the team lead would get mad cuz I was taking to long but like ofc it’s gonna take a while since nothing is sorted.
I’m sorry to hear that bro. It’s just that Walmart expects you to be more faster.
I went through same problem, not fortunate to stock one grocery aisle everyday like full time employees as they know where items are stocked, but temps got moved around like cattle stocking everywhere think I know where every item goes, then tell me work to slow, not fortunate to to get the app like regular employees have to scan the item tells me where it goes, Walmart sucks
@@ronaldmiller6687 it’s already been 1 month for me at Walmart. They’re already saying something about me moving a little bit faster.

What time do you start and end?
Thank you I hope I could hang working at super Walmart what did you drink at night to keep your self awake and your body going
Christina, if I got a good rest during the day I would be drinking a ton of water while working. If I slept less than 6hrs I would get a coffee, or drink a smoothie. During lunch time don’t eat a very big meal, because that can put you to sleep or make you feel a little bit lazy lol. Continue and stay strong.
Love you bee
Great video! A year later and they still offering $18.50 for overnight lol. Any idea how the raises work and did you ever get any overtime?
I’m only making $15 and what we have to deal with is ridiculous. Different big box store but still. I’m going to apply at Walmart if they’re making almost $19 after I get my license.
Are they generous with overtime? I don't mind working extra hours cause I want that extra money. Do they let you come in extra nights?
depends store to store my old store they let anyone work as much as they want cause they needed the help
My 2 day today.. great video
I am gonna work at a Walmart when I turn 18 I still have four years until I'm 18
Shift hours & position ?
This is my first week and I definitely don’t have time to record other than breaks. I am working my ass off since day 1 😭😭

In Florida this is 18:50 n hour overnights
that's what it is at my store in suburban st. louis.
How old do you have to be to work overnight stocker
Before i start this job. I’m getting 18.50 a hour with bi weekly pay can someone tell me how much i’ll be getting on my paychecks for full time before i start i’ll be averaging 80 hours
Have you started? And if so, do you now know the answer to your question? I need to know as well.
Get the even app
Are you guys held to a certain box count an hour ? I work at a dollar tree and we have to get 30 an hour it’s a small store though
Damn
Chuy, we would have a 2-5 whole pallet to get done before 5am, sometimes you’re alone, sometimes not. So you got it good :)
It’s 60 cases an Hour in my store so they literally expect a case completed every minute.
I work overnight at WalMart and we don't have box count per hour, they just want you to get done with your area and get it zoned (straightened up) in the 8 hours you are there.
I was told to shoot for 1 hour for 1 pallet full boxes or totes.
I recently got cap 2
What I would assume is 2nd shift.
Which is 2-11
It was cool the first 4 hours cuz yo sorting the pallets from the trailers.
But then you go on the floor to sort.
Let me tell you
I ain’t one that likes to talk much.
Can’t fathom how many times I was pulled from my sorting duties to help a customer.
Imma talk to my hr. See if she can let me move to overnight shift. Just to avoid the customers plus that shift differential $$$
"You guys know if you guys have any more _________ in the back?"
"Know when you'll be getting more?"
"Can you get someone with keys to open the liquor for me? I've been waiting a long time!"

Has anyone ever heard of people working at Wal=Mart and getting rich because of the stock purchase program they have for employees? I heard of a girl in Louisana that went to work in 1980 and she purchased stock every paycheck and because of her years of purchasing stock + several stock splits she's worth millions of dollars. Sounds possible. Supposedly she continues to work their.

I got an interview in couple days for a stocker mid shift, 2-11. Hopefully won't be too bad.
How is it, are you still there?
@@Queen_EL11I'm still there. Some days aren't pretty, and in general can be pretty strenuous, with typical management BS, but there are things I like (stocking shelves towards end of shift). But is it all worth the $14/hr? No. There's better out there. But this is a good foot in the door to other jobs, and you do learn some good hands-on retail stuff.
@@HazelEyedElf I understand. I’m currently an overnight stocker in Oklahoma at $15.50. I think I’ve had enough. It’s truly not a bad gig, but the pay definitely doesn’t match the labor & it’s just not sitting well with me.
@@Queen_EL11 For sure. The things that especially irk me are all the bad jacks, and vizpicking heavy shit from top bins in narrow halls. Downstacking frozen wasn't fun either, but luckily as of a couple days ago, we're stopping that process altogether.

You’ll be just fine, you’ll look back and be like “oh yeah, its a cake”
If you're a hard worker at majority of general labor jobs managers treat you like royalty because people are lazy these days. Once you get in there just learn the aisles as you work and it'll all come to you naturally when you've been there a few months. Once you're comfortable with the speed and everything bring your ear buds and vibe out the whole night because it makes the Job more enjoyable.
They don't say nothing about your earbuds if you're a top worker but to be honest they let you get away with alot if you're top worker
It's a pretty easy job to get hired.
Wal-Mart will hire anybody, even if you have convictions and are covered in tattoos. They really don't care.
I see they pay at 16 on nights? Do they make you have the vaccine? Thanks for the info
Brett, the vaccine is not required. Pay may be different depending on where you are located.
Do you think this is a good job to start for someone who's antisocial and has no job experience? what are the cons of this job?

I know somethings about stocking , but could never get it done fast an i don't want to mess my body up , are their any tips you have in getting it done quicker 🤔
When you load your cart try to put the items that go in the same aisle together
@CJ, no work is too important to crush your body, remember that. I will say do what works for you, work smart by having a cart like the previous person commented, have a box cutter always and work together with your team. I saw that when I was on the same page with my coworkers the work was done faster and I went home less tired but when I did the opposite I went home frustrated and more tired.
