Hollie I just came across this video. I’m a little late. I would say it is the end of summer almost but I wanted to let you know that it got me into the Christmas spirit. I’m 67 years old and my kids are grown and moved away and I don’t see my grandkids very much but you made me get in the Christmas spirit here in August and I just want to thank you for that, you have a beautiful family please love them and know that you are blessed

I told you before my husband worked for Duke Power and seems like when our kids were small it never failed during Christmas that someone decided to take out a pole and he would be on call. I sympathize with you and Drew but thank goodness he was able to enjoy some of the festivities with the family. Casen is a little ham in front of a camera. I know your mom was thrilled to have all her beautiful grandchildren with her and you hold that sweet baby boy all you can because the next thing you know he’ll be grown. We spent the morning at my sons home in RHode Island then took a flight back to our home in NC to spend dinner and open gofts with our daughter’s family. I have to say we were exhauted at the end of the day. Never thought we could do Chritmas in 2 states 500 miles away.

This was a perfect video to end the year with. Everyone’s home was so beautifully decorated and it was so fun seeing Casen’s face light up with his presents. All of the cousins were so cute and having such a great time too. The grandparents were having a ball with their grandchildren too. 😊❤😊🎄🦌🎅
We do a family gathering with out of state family on the weekend between Christmas and New Year. It is a casual day with a lot of different finger foods, games and gift exchange. Christmas Day is church and maybe dinner at our son’s house because he is the only one who lives locally. I enjoy this mid-week celebration because the Christmas season lasts for 12 days in my Catholic faith tradition, ending on the feast of the Epiphany.
I love seeing how everyone decorates, which is absolutely gorgeous. Both sides of your family have that special touch. I know y’all had a blessed Christmas and we will see you next year! Enjoy sweet Casen and get some rest 🩷💙

you are so right, family is everything. i look back and realize how blessed we were b/c i grew up in a small community called st. bernard , la. near the mouth of the mississippi river below new orleans. my family lived close to one another and we celebrated everything together. in 2005 when hurricane katrina came , we lost everything with 20 feet of water. now many of us have passed away and everyone is scattered. It is not the same but i feel blessed to be able to still celebrate with my children and grandchildren, even if we are further apart in distance. God bless
