I noticed one odd thing: on the last line, she doesn't say they'll KILL everyone who tries to enter, only that they'll KEEP them. She also didn't actually confirm when the captain said that they'd killed others who entered. Could it be that they actually just captured some/many of them, gave them places to live in their territory or even allowed them to be uplifted too?

There are many options. From the altruistic types you mentioned, to harsh slavery, to an eternal hell like the ones in our mythologies, to other, more bizarre fates. Heck, it could be all of the above, depending on who enters and their motives and intentions.

I think they also may have not wanted to spread that fate to the other alien species, so they pretty much just secluded themselves away and avoid contact like the plauge.
Buuuut of course when people enter their space they can’t just let em leave. Otherwise they’ll tell, and possibly spark the other species to do the same.
ABSOLUTELY we Grey gooed ourselves while evolving into a 5th or 6th dimensional beings while at the same time interweaving the very human trait of wanting to help and assist into the part of us we left in 4d space.

Dr Daniel Jackson and his friends are unbound by the rule of interference. Great story.
They didn't ascend, they wiped them selves out and replaced everyone with AI that thinks it's human. They are just renegade AI.
Humanity as it once was is indeed dead. But the minds of those humans still live on. It's not a renegade AI, it's human minds being uploaded into machines. (or to be more specific, grey goo I.E. nanobot swarms.)

Yes but no, assuming an AI is capable to simulate your mind and memories at 99.9999999991% accuracy, down to the smallest quirk making your personality unique and way of thinking.
Then all the closest people to you (even you if you wish) have a discussion with this simulation, then discern absolutely no difference at all between you both.
Don't you think that simulation is as human as you can be yourself.
If you think this isn't the same, just a machine with a convincingly copying your mannerisms, consider the following.
You are not your brain a mere hardware, and not directly the emergent property of its neurochemistry, a.k.a intelligence a software, likes all of us and the universe we are able to perceives with our limited human senses around us, our experiencing of what we call reality, are the rendering as inputs and the interpretation as outputs from either an organic or synthetic computer(different methods same results).

As mentioned by the humans though, only if you are truly in desperate need will we help, and even then only if you can't resist/resolve the extinction/complete racial enslavement level problem you've encountered yourself.
