In the books Alec, Jace, Clary, Simon, and Izzy went to Edom to save Magnus, Raphael, Luke, and Jocelyn. Clary and Jace made it all about themselves. Nobody considered the fact that the love of Alecs life was possibly dead. For all 6 books nobody payed attention to Alec, or his feelings. In the show I was so happy to see people caring more. Thank you for this❤️
What hurts is no one pays attention to Alec or what he wants he does everything for everyone he's anything anyone wants him to be that he has no time to be his gorgeous amazing self Everyone always needs him but no one helps him IT MAKES ME SO MAD
Sometimes (or all the time) I feel like Alec's emotions become overshadowed due to who he is dating. Alec could have a really emotional scene within the show but then people will talk about how Magnus hugged him because # Malec. For example, when Alec fell off the roof, hardly anyone addressed why he did what he did and what he must be going through. Instead I mainly saw people gasping over how Magnus saved him. No hate just my opinion
Alec might be put on weaker end because we viewers only see Magnus’s effort mainly. I love Alec. He’s my fav ❤️ That’s unfair to me. There are comments in other vids that only Magnus is the one who sacrifices himself every time. Alec was like a burden and selfish. That breaks my heart. Since when can you compare love. Alec might have to fight wars inside his mind too. At least he accepted the risk to be together with Magnus. That’s a huge character development.
Ugh... This! My boy was literally struggling with internalized homophobia and self worth issues. He is the person his whole family relied on. His shoulders were always carrying the heaviest of the burdens at such a young age. Fighting for making a place of his own. Baring the consequences of siblings' reckless actions. Doing everything in his power still not being able to be the best. Alec is a beautifully flawed character... An inspiration for so many like me. Handsdown the best and the most layered character on the show. Sadly, some people can't see Alec beyond Malec or the good looks of the actor playing him.
This is so beautiful... Made me sob like a baby. Alec deserves the world... I don't know a better man. His growth as an individual and journey of self acceptance is the most beautiful thing that happened to Shadowhunters. He is an inspiration for so many like me.
