Marie-Claire was rarely better than when playing her brother's works - except in Bach. I marvel at her technique but realise it's way out of my reach. She exuded music and the organ was an extension of this. Rest in Peace Marie-Claire! x

Very interesting, but being in such a crazy rush has removed anything meditative from the pieces played, even by Marie-Claire. Shame you did not set these two masterpieces in some kind of structural light, or talk about the harmonic context of the change of accidental Marie-Claire alludes to. The impression is more of a top hospital Prof of medicine doing his rounds, and the life, soul and breath of the pieces are thereby diminished and almost extinguished. However the thrill of such music will have the last word. The whole thing was expolitative, almost. Far better to say, 'here we are in the church of Saint-Germain-en_Laye, a town just outside Paris where Debussy lived and the Impressionists painted (appropriate pictures) and then gradually home in on, first Marie-Claire Alain, then the relationship with Jehan, then the type of music that Litanies is...and so forth. Now it is too late.

This music is profound in it's meaninglessness.
Je suis monté à cette tribune il y a un peu plus de 50 ans. L’ambiance y était vraiment désagréable. Très mauvais souvenir.
