I don't know if it's what you're searching for but Milky Holmes has a similar style of humor, although it's not (completely) a school anime, same for Di Gi Charat. Maybe Kill Me Baby?
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei gives off similar (but not quite the same) energy. Both are gag anime from the same studio from the same era. Zetsubou just has an edgier sense of humor and of course the light harem element
At the end of this show's end credits, just imagine a crime scene "DO NOT CROSS" yellow tape around the back of a house in Detroit where the cop cars were broken into and broken glass with Ms. Miyamoto crying to Mesousa being kidnapped by cute girl psychos in her age.
An almost impossible to understand anime that was also incredibly funny and enjoyable to watch.
I love this anime so much. I can't find anything like it. Nichijou is the closest I can find.
Don't forget Azumanga Daioh.
