The Best Ever Video documented, Fish Story! That is the great thing about adventures and experiences. I call it : Tales to Tell. You have them forever.
Thank you for taking us along fishing. It was wonderful being on the water , so smooth and glass like. I also liked the view of the coast. Very nice evening indeed.
Wowee man; campfire roasted rainbow trout stuffed with butter, onions and garlic, just wow man. And that fold-up Oru-kayak is the bomb too! Way cool man. Y'all got one great life! For true!
I love this video SO MUCH! One of the best meals in my *entire* life was a fresh pan fried trout at a small cabin restaurant near Breckenridge, CO, situated right alongside a narrow flowing river where the trout was caught. Back in the mid 90's. I was with my husband. He passed away a year ago this week. Thank you for the memories, Brooke.
Nice small Rainbow Trout. Back in the early 1990s I took my father and a work colleague into our mountains for trout fishing. The colleague was also Victorian 'Fly Fishing Association' president so had an expert to teach us the aft of catching trout. While my father hsd a couple of nibbles and I barely saw some trout, the colleague caugth five trout , two about twice the size of your and three about that size. He also taught us that especially Rainbow Trout will strike once only, miss it and you may as well go elsewhere, that same trout will not react again for an hour or more. In the lake maybe you have several nearby, but being a predator they normally will not be in the same hollow, so probably need to throw the line to a different side. He also taught is a delicious way to cook the trout, packing it inside with bacon and chopped onion and capsicum, strip of bacon down the side, wrapped in Alu-foil and baked in the coals of the campfire. Absolute delight, probably also enhanced by the extra kick of outdoor life. Somehow meals while camping seem to be better than while living in town, flavour seems to enhance. Your folding canoe reminded me of a major disappointment in my teen years. My father in pre and post WWII travelled by folding kayak. Lacquered wooden frame, brass joiners, with canvas skin. Carry in a large sack. Also with attachable outrigger and small mast and sail. In his teen years before WWII, my father travelled most rivers in Germany, and even travellrd the Danube past Austria for its source in the Black Forest in southern Germany. After the war and starting his own family, we used it around Hamburg on lakes while on holiday, with me from 3 to 7 years of age, paddling and/or sailing. On migrating to Australia in 1959, sadly it had to be left behind as it did not fit into the crates of belongings take with us. Years later as I was mid teens, mid 1960s, I contacted my uncle who had stored it in his attic, to send it to us in Australia. THAT WAS MAJOR disappointment, he had chosen to dump it in the trash, as he and his wife were totally dedicated to hiking no interest at all in boating or the kayak. By the way my aunt suffered extreme itch in warmer conditions, so they spent their holidays hiking in Lapland, Sweden, Norway, Scotland, Iceland, visited Greenland and finally also two Canada holidays. Always taking many photo Slides, and then doing travel presentations to fellow hiking groups. Once only they tried hiking in southern Germany and Austria but aborted within a couple of days as my Aunt suffered extreme itching. They never dared to come to Australia as they feared the heat effects.
Quiet, is what I like & need also!!!! Happy, also you caught a fish. I've wanted to see you catch one & cook it on the fire! YUMMM!!!! It sure put a bid smile on your face!! Do take care.
Oh my! I LOVE when you cook! Steaks last time and now trout. AND for some reason food tastes WAY better outside. I can smell the garlic and butter. :-)
Brooke, your tale of fishing for trout complete with that amazing first big bite (1-2- WEEEEE! Got one) The the sad loss was wonderful to share with you. It reminded me of watching a Cooper's Hawk try to catch a bird, then miss, and then look at first confused, then angry, then startled eyes wide open to see me. In the end, your perseverance got you a whopping big dinner just before the storm. Great Stuff!
Oohh... the fish looks so good. Note to self...stop watching Brooke's videos when you're hungry, eat first. Lake with no motorized boats are the best, nothing to drown out the sounds of the water lapping, birds, wind etc. Great tutorial too. Maybe some people will try kayak and of course it helps people who aren't used to cleaning fresh fish see it's not all so bad, get out there and try it. Edited for my many many typos.
WIDE open...I could almost taste it!! Soooo good. I think the Whipples have had a summer of going between UPMI and Alaska and we will be reaping the rewards this Fall! So nice to see you again! See ya next time!
I know what that tastes like having grown up fishing in Northern Cali and Oregon. Fresh caught, cleaned and cooked right on the river. It dont get any better! Yummy! Great canoe, cant wait for your review.
I use to do the same when fly fishing, we catch few Brookies, clean into foil, potatoes, garlic, butter and onions and cook and enjoy. So many excellent memories.
OMG what a great adventure! I loved seeing that gorgeous trout!!! And I really wanted to taste that fish after you cooked it!! YUMMMMMMMMY!!! Plus- who knew! A fold-up kayak!!!
Brooke, when I first started watching your videos I used to think you were kind of wacky. Now as I viewed more of them I came to see your pretty cool. You truly seem so happy when your out and about. Good for you. You have a better view on life than most people i know. We should all be so fortunate. You now have another viewer for life!
I just love fresh caught fish on the grill. Have had flounder, trout and tuna from a charter boat trip and they are all delicious when fresh...😋yummy!!
I love using rooster tail lures always had luck with them, now i have not been able to find them anymore here in Ontario. Nice catch Brook. nice compact kayak , Beautiful lake with all the trees awesome video
Oh girl…..I went on my first deep fishing trip (I haven’t fished since 11 years old) . I Double baited estimated 90-100x NEVER CAUGHT ONE FISH. I can now really emphasize when you lose one or don’t get any. Great to see you out there. God bless you.
Great Job Brooke That Fold Away Kayak Fresh Trout Garlic Onions Butter, That First Bite was Delicious I don't blame You Taco's are not Fresh Lake Trout Go You, Dave is a Lucky Guy Brooke You are so Much Sunshine Thanks for Sharing Your Adventures !
these no motor lakes are my favorite too. sometimes during peak tourist season it’s a lot of stand up paddlers but i find places were they won’t go anyway. got my fair share of trout already this year so i’m happy 😊 getting ready for winter now. God blesses! love ya Brooke!
I bought an Oru Inlet kayak this Spring when they had it on their kickstarter deal. Saved some dollars. I love it and you have to bother with a rack or anything like that. The fish looked delicious!!
Hey Brooke, what a pleasant surprise seeing a video from you today! What a beautiful rainbow trout. For me, butter, garlic, onions, salt and pepper is the only way to go for just about anything. That lake was beautiful. Thank you for that first bite. As always, take care and be safe. See you next time.
My sweetie Pie and I have matching Ugly Sticks with Mitchell 300 reels, matching fishing vests, and matching waders and matching camo outfits. Now that is a sure sign of the true love that we have for each other. Oh, I bait the hooks and take the fish off the lines and clean the fish, because I love her twice as much. Her baked or fried fish are way above excellent eating though, so I guess we evened up in the who loves who more department. Speaking of love, we both Love watching your videos. You have so many that it will take time for us to get caught up with watching them all. Today for us it's Thanksgiving in May and were cooking up a turkey with all the trimmings. I better get back to the kitchen or risk getting accused as a slacker. The potatoes aren't going to peel themselves now are they.
I just ran into your vids. Pure fun to watch. Thanks for putting such excitement into Gods great earth! Wow..we are so lucky. Now I gotta binge watch all your vids...Ok..here we go!
Seeing your reaction when the fish came off your line reminded me of all the times I watched the same thing on the Wicked Tuna show. Not a lot of drama or complexity in a fishing show - you either catch it or it gets away.
I love swimming and canoeing on such a calm lake! Don't worry about showing us just get it in the boat. You figured it out!! Nice!! Good supper!!! Rainbows are fun to catch. I have to laugh as I am here talk right back to you as if we were having a conversation. I gotta admit when I don't see you get your kayak secured I get nervous, silly, huh?!!
That Kayak is awesome Brooke! I am going to have to get one! I was just up in Delta Junction this past weekend...man was it WINDY!! Thanks for sharing!
Oh man, that fish looked so delicious!😋 doesn't get any better than that girl, some you time on the lake in perfect fishing weather! Table for one & the fresh catch of the day for supper!🎣
Fresh caught rainbow trout ; whilst paddling on a remote Alaskan lake kayak yet , is beyond COOL! Yeah man. Freshly caught rainbow , stuffed with butter, onions, and garlic, (sprinkled atop with salt, and pepper,) ...WHAAT!? Talk about GOOD! (Just try , and get that in even an upscale restaurant, maybe, maybe not! ) You'd pay an arm, and a leg for such gourmet fare! P.s. Folding up a 30lb kayak into a 3' by 3' boxed into a backpack is mindblowingly very very cool!
My son and I each got new Ugly Sticks this year. Nice rods. We have decided that the fish fairies take the best fish we catch back as payment for allowing us to catch fish. lol It seems to never fail that we lose the biggest or nicest or prettiest fish. And we will probably go fishing this weekend sometime...we're pretty spontaneous, just go when it's suits us. Your fish was a beauty and it looked really yummy. I'll keep your recommendation for butter, garlic and onion, salt and pepper in mind for our next fresh fish.
Coolest Kayak ever!!!❤️❤️❤️! I Love that!!! I so want to go fishing again!!! Arizona has good Parks. I guess they are still. I need to check them out. HAPPY!!!🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
