  • Review on the new PLYR chain and the PLYR network Node clusters that are released today. In this video I will show you what PLYR is about, what their node is and how to buy the node. PLYR network is a new gaming blockchain that have just gone into their mainnet launch. The nodes they just released are crucial for the blockchain and will receive 50% of all gas fees made on the blockchain, which is very cool.

      Yea, this project seems to check all of the boxes in terms of a good start. Judging from the initial node sale, there seems to be a lot of people thinking the same. What I also specifically liked with the nodes is the earning of gas fees from the blockchain transactions. Could bring big potential if they manage to get a lot of gamers in. And it seems they got that planned out with their upcoming events/leaderboard/airdrop that begins in just a few days. So it seems very planned from their side, which is a positive in all regards

    • @NordicCrypto
      @NordicCrypto  Месяц назад

      Yes, simply having a username as a login to start playing is exactly like traditional gaming. So it seems PLYR have reached a point were there no longer need to be a hindrance for traditional web2 gamers to get into Web3 gaming. Love to see that and I think that can be a crucial tipping point for web3 gaming. This easy onboarding is a must for the web3 gaming sector to grow. And it seems PLYR have released an excellent blockchain were this can happen. I therefore more than root for the success of PLYR as that can become a positive for the entire web3 gaming sector.

    Thank you for posting this, it does look like a promising project. It gives me concern, though: All these projects selling "node keys" that promise a return, even though you're not performing any work or validating any transactions, all you're doing is purchasing and owning an NFT...doesn't that just make it an ICO in disguise? At least with Larissa (which I made BANK off of!) I actually own a real node that is really performing work for the network by validating transactions, which gave me confidence that the node actually had real value. I don't see that value here.

    • @NordicCrypto
      @NordicCrypto  Месяц назад +1

      This is a very fair question and I agree with your reasoning. In this particular case were we users have partly ownership of the actual real hardware nodes, that does indeed verify the PLYR blockchain, I think it at least sounds a bit better/makes a little sense, instead of simply offering NFTs without any ties to infrastructure/the underlying project. But the node sale is definitely a way of also securing funds for the project. And I also agree that it sometimes feels a bit more "deserving" when there is a physical hardware involved. But, seeing it from the side of decentralization, this also becomes a way for users to, sort of, invest/be part of the infrastructure behind PLYR, being part with the potential to earn. I believe PLYR will also have some public sale as well for their token in the nearby future, although I'm not certain. In the end, most projects are companies offering products that can have different impact on the world, and it is up to us users to decide if we want to participate or not. I like to participate a lot in early projects due to the potential to make profits, especially when we have the opportunity to be early. And in this specific case, I think PLYR have a good take on onboarding Web2 gamers to the Web3 sector, which I think is a win-win situation, for everyone in crypto, if PLYR ends up performing well. So aside from the "profit aspect" I think it's quite an exciting project to follow. Hope my thoughts here were able to provide something of value & I'm more than glad to continue replying if you want to discuss this further!

      @@NordicCrypto Thank you for being willing to have a sincere discussion on this. I find nothing morally questionable with ICO's, or even promotions like this, that strike me as an "ICO in disguise," it just bothers me because it seems to me to be a less than honest way for PLYR and similar projects to present themselves. It's not a "node," it's an investment, which again is not wrong or bad at all, I just am not comfortable funding a project that is being evasive about that. I do sincerely hope PLYR succeeds, from what I've read it sounds exciting so I'll definitely get involved at some point, even if only as an end user.

      Memusic - £9 return since feb ! Shocking, larissa i made a stack on in the first week, now only $2 per month, etcmc - £6 since jan (now off), natix, £7 since last year… too many scams now

    • @NordicCrypto
      @NordicCrypto  Месяц назад +1

      That is good and healthy thinking. And I think PLYR will be super happy to simply have you on as a gamer, gaming on their chain. I don't think PLYR are evasive about the sale, what it is and were the funds go, as they have that info out in the public.
      One way I like to compare node sales in general with, are traditional companies. We most of the times don't get anything back from buying a company's product, aside from the product itself. With these nodes these projects are selling, we are getting quite a lot, and even the chance to get back our money from the node purchase through its earning features. It's quite a cool deal. I especially like these deals when I'm able to get in first, as that gives me the best chances of at least getting my money back and making a profit. And that is mainly why I make these videos, so that you, my viewers, get the same opportunity, if they want. But it is crypto, it is a company's product/feature and it is investing, so it's a good thing to think twice about were we want to put our money.
      Hope to see you on the battle grounds in the PLYR games!

    How is it decentralized if plyr owns and operates the nodes? We just pay to play

    • @NordicCrypto
      @NordicCrypto  Месяц назад

      Hi, I agree with you that if it were to be called "true decentralization" the nodes itself should be in the hands/and run by the people as well. But I guess, that is not feasible for a chain just starting out as they need reliability that the nodes stay up. So the node sales to the people is a step towards decentralization, to decentralize the digital ownership. I agree, from just a decentralization stand point, it's not there. But that can be said for almost all the projects out there. Launching a 100% decentralized chain were users decide themselves if they would want to support a chain can work, as we have seen with kaspa for example. But it's rare for a chain to get so many followers.
      I think the way PLYR have done it is the smartest way, both from a company standpoint, but also from the users perspective. Now people have the option to use/game/be part of PLYR for free if they want. And they also have the option for users who want to invest in PLYR by owning a digital representation of the nodes, that does indeed earn from the blockchain gas fees. Ultimately, it's up to the users to choose. But anyone can still play their games for free, we do not need a node to be able to play their games.
      Cheers
      /Nordic

      We have no idea what the PLYR node earns currently in dollar value since the PLYR token is not listed yet. But if I get to guess, I think the ROI is lower with the PLYR node compared to a traditional standard Bitcoin miner. Those asic miners usually take a few years to make our money back. These virtual nodes have more than often had much lower ROI values. But again, we don't know for sure

      It's often like this being early with projects, were there is a lot of not knowing in the beginning.
      But I can say that it will be one of two outcomes when the PLYR token is listed.
      1. The PLYR token is listed at a high price making the ROI very low with the nodes --> then the rest of the nodes will get sold out fast.
      2. The PLYR token is listed at a low price making the ROI high with the nodes --> then the rest of the nodes will not get sold out/or at least until the price of the PLYR token does increase (but that is not a guarantee that it does).
      But in essence, it's investing, so we never know what is going to happen. But that goes for the entire sector.
      Cheers
