Beautiful trees! One caution: please don't plant the acer rubrum near your neighbor's horse. The leaves are incredibly toxic, and just a few can be lethal. I'm not certain whether they are toxic to goats.

Love this! The little gem magnolia as it grows you will be able to trim off branches at Christmas it makes fantastic foliage decoration. I also have a Roman candle podocarpus planted 9 months ago, I find it does need a little extra water and slow growing, you know the sleep year. Always happy to see Michael Glassman in your videos, very generous and talented man.

I added a “Rising Sun” redbud to my garden 2 years ago. It’s planted in the understory of a 30 yr old paper birch. You will not be sorry-it is absolutely stunning. Pretty much just gets morning sun. I live in Boise, ID, zone 6. Your tree choices will add tons of personality to your property-what a fun day for you and Jason.

The first thing we did when we bought our house, we planned our landscaping in phases. Our foundation trees and evergreens were first to go in, and now I get to do the specimen tree install for phase 2. I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to see the result! Especially after even one year. 💚💚💚

Good morning. I do have to correct you on one thing and that is even if you live in a cooler area then your area or along the southern parts of the states it is still good to plant trees in the fall as long as there is no freezing or if you have about month or so before your first hard frost. The gardening saying is: "Everything is better in the ground then in the container." Ground acts like insulation for the plants. Enjoy your videos and so excited to see just how much of a change the trees will do for your property.

Oh yay! Lots of new beautuful trees! Hoping a few are going in front of your fence along the street...maybe the crepe mrytles because they are kinda messy but you would still see them from inside the house or on the front porch.

The Redbud Rising Sun has been around for a while. I got mine 5 years ago, my neighbor got her's 4 years ago. Easy to find. Pretty tree.

Podocarpus Fern Pine is in my neighbors backyard and I love it. I wish I had planted one in mine. It is messy, but beautiful.

It is very artistic. It can be gloomy but I think it depends on how you incorporate it. It is a piece of art that’s why Michael likes it.

Such a beautiful selection! I’m sure you plan on adding some berms and landscape boulders for added interest, but wondering if that should be done before installing trees? Maybe dig out the rock swale so you have the soil necessary for the berms?
You are so lucky. I started my landscaping by myself with my boys and my husband three years ago, but that’s one thing I am lacking our trees and I don’t know what kind of trees to use Southern California 9B and like you I wanna make sure that it’s gonna fit my space.

I'm one of those People not liking weeping conifers, cause they used them a lot in cemetaries here. So they remind me of death and sad situations😅

Janie I have 3 Little Jem's in my garden. They do drop some leaves and get a little messy, but you have such a big space, that it probably will be ok. I bought 22 trees and planted them when we moved in 6 yrs ago. I really wanted a living fence. I am excited for you. These will make a big impact in your garden. Kim

Janey lives in zone 10 ,California. Laura lives in zone 6 I think in west Oregon. I live in South Carolina and we grow totally different Trees, our ground is like Janey’s in that it never freezes. Mild winter’s

All those beautiful trees. It made me want the podocarpus Roman Candle for my front garden. I love that it does well in containers ❤️🌲❤️
I started how quick trees make a difference when I planted two small maples in front of my first house and sold the house two years later. Drove past it six years later and couldn’t believe how big they had gotten! Totally shaded the front yard and changed the whole appearance of the house. Rent a tractor with an auger to plant those for sure!
We have a huge fern tree and it is SO MESSY, it drops leaves and berries. Planting underneath is such a hassle because of the leave drop, it smoothers the plants underneath. I would advise against it unless you don’t plant underneath, keep away from a pool, and flower pots or grass.
