the higher velocity is due to the longer barrel, and would depend on factory test barrel wich may be 5 inches and under, but still corbon is close to stated claims, also temperature is a factor in velocity. 650-700 ft/lbs range is typical of a 5 inch barrel, both this round and 10mm compete with each other close on energy specs
As a newbie reloader, I Would guess that a weight difference of even up to 10 grains could be on account of the two manufacturers using different powders. Thanks for showing the 400 Corbon!
Nice video, just wondering if the G-21 Mag 13 Rounders work consistantly with the bottlenose rounds of the .400 Corbon? Thanks for sharing and love your videos!
Great, I will try both ideas to see what works best. By the way, have you fired, tested, or chronographed Underwoods .40 S&W 135 Grain Nosler rounds? I wonder what length barrel they use to get {1500} feet per second out of that round?
EFK Firedragon still lists a .400 Corbon barrel for the USP 45. Not sure who would make the .40 Super. The former would probably work well in an HK45 or HK45C but I probably wouldn't try the .40 Super in those guns; they're not as overbuilt as the USP.
that was a nice test. Good Shootin Tex. Does The Recoil spring on the Glock make racking the slide difficult? on my Accu match it's pretty hard to rack the slide, unless you have Gorilla arms :-)
@@stonedraider708 Technically you can shoot 10mm in a glock 21 45 acp too. You just need to swap out the same parts you did when converting it to 400 corbon, plus the extractor is recommended to be changed too. So that means a glock 21 can shoot 3 different calibers. 45 acp, 400 corbon and 10mm.
extra velocity. not ported. thank you. Honestly the 400 corbon for some reason seemed to recoil more than my 10mm. but you get less velocity with 400 corbon. I have no idea why. You might look into 40 super - I did a video on those in G21 and G30. Also 460 rowland - I did a video on that as well. I guess it depends on what your wanting to accomplish with the new setup.
Damn cat just found your channel and boy do I love it I don't know if you're still doing it but by God you better start if you stopped I need some 450 SMC ammo they say double tap makes it been waiting a year on it can you find me some please
I’m weird, I don’t like the long barrel. I like the g19/23 shorter barrel. Wish this barrel came in that shorter length. I love odd calibers. Especially the necked down type like these. I want this an .40 super on dedicated frames.
The new wide spring coil G21 13rd mags seem to work the best. If that doesn't work you can use the guts of a 10mm mag inside the G21 mag. I just did a video on doing that. ruclips.net/video/3Pcy7W-9Zcc/видео.html
just curious why such a long barrel???? it didn't appear to be ported???? great video by the way..... I am wanting to do a conversion for my extra G21 not sure if I am making a G20 out of it or something else.....
that would be cool! But nope you can not. Length of the 45acp and 400 corbon hood of the barrel is much longer than the hood on the 45 gap. Maybe if you fit the hood of the 400corbon barrel to the G37...well even if you got that to work the 400 corbon rounds wouldn't fit into the G37mag.
TANK SHERMAN Not really any reason it shouldn't. The G21 is a .45ACP normally, and the .400 Cor-bon is a 45 case necked down to .40. So the major diameter of the case is still the same. Necked cartridges typically feed well.

As an employee of Corbon Ammunition. The difference in weight is due to the different powder and powder charge that is used.

400 corbon is great can be putted in all 45s so its such a great variant for a 357sig and 10mm level of power

yeah I've been meaning to do a video on 40sw. Haven't seen the 40 in stock at UW in a while though. I haven't chrono'd his 135s yet.

400 Corbon is a 45 casing necked down to a 40 caliber bullet. Sounds familiar. Can you fire these through a 40 Super barrel?

.400 cor-bon is same that 10mm but more versatile. You can have two calibers in the same pistol. Nice
:)
josé flores what do you mean "could have 2 calibers in the same pistol"? Do you mean I could buy 10mm ammo?
@@batmikeno13 He means you can shoot 45 acp and 400 corbon in the glock 21. All you have to do is switch barrels and recoil springs.
@@Prepare2Survive yes 45 APC not 10mm

could be. also have now heard on the SD rds corbon makes their own bullets and it could be due to that.

40 super with underwoods 140gr xtreme penetrators in an MCK-style PDW running a 8" or so barrel would be an absolute hammer.

Very cool. A .400 Corbon or 40 Super would be pretty awesome in a USP 45.
How can I solve my failure to eject problems?
Thank you
I'd like to see a 40 super or 460rowland conversion in a Mark 23 lol
How’s the price on the ammo

I'm pretty sure it could be done. Trouble is getting someone to do it.
Wait, so that's a G21 with a .40 S&W conversion barrel?
no sir, the caliber of the barrel is 400 Corbon.
And .400 Corbon feeds reliably in a 13-round G21 mag?

Why would you put a .40 cal on a .45......
higher velocity, which means more energy.
this gun will never compare to the 10mm get that thing shooting 1800 fps and then were talkin till then its short and weak.
+PewPewBangBang I love my 10mm hand load every round but what about 460 rowland? I think this would be a game changer still same problem brass cost.
+Ralph Cooper I did a video on that. ruclips.net/video/AhGM0hhsGEg/видео.html
Rusty Highlander hand loading is really the best way to go for speed and ballistics. I don’t buy store stuff anymore.
