I had the wonderful opportunity to perform Thiruvathira Kalli for Kalapriya at the Chicago Women's Park and Garden!This beautiful dance form is believed to have played a key role in reviving the God of Love, Kamadeva, after Lord Shiva's anger reduced him to ashes. Fascinating, right?
The Kalapriya Mela was everything you could ask for - vibrant performances, amazing vendors, and a fantastic atmosphere!
A big thank you to Devi They-v J-yan for coordinating this amazing event all the way from Kerala, Lekshmi Nair for creating such a beautiful choreography, Roshni Biju for taking the lead, and Litcy Kurisinkal for the warm welcome and organization.
It was a joy performing with so many talented dancers from all over the Chicago suburbs! You all made this day truly special.
