After having the Mi A3 for 3 months i can surely say that i will never ever return to a MIUI Xiaomi. Android 1 is just on another level in terms of responsiveness and overall speed.
I had the Mi A1, the OS was taking about 2,3GB from the 4GB Ram, now i'll buy the 9T Pro when it release, mine Mi A1 wasnt running low spec games and was getting too hot, after a while, it had a new update, and when i updated it, it got bricked, and the USB debugging was disabled, so, today its dead, i got sad with the A1

Just install pixel experience on rn7, it works perfectly for me, smooth animations, nothing extra, and gcam works good. I just got a better version of A3 for the less price.
Right now i have MI A3 and redmi note 7... I can confirm that using both with gcam mi a3 shot much better photos (gcam has replace my stock camera app btw)... Screen on mi a3 is superior to rn7!!! I dont know how is this possible but colours on rn7 looks faded and really ugly next to mi a3 screen... So i prefer that 720p super amoled screen... Battery on mi a3 is much better too... Rn7 battery is very good too but mi a3 battery is even better! I think screen resolution and size help battery too! Cpu on mi a3 is better too! Redmi note 7 4/64 costs me 185€ on February in Greece while Mi A3 4/64 costs me 175€ on September!!!
But the question is if they could fit it all then. Personally I wouldn't mind phones in general having twice the thickness. Current phones are unnecessarily thin for no good reason.
People, please stop complaining about the screen of the MI A3! Without AMOLED, under screen fingerprint reader is not possible. AMOLED screens are expensive so they kept the price low by putting a 720p screen in it. Not to mention a 720p AMOLED screen is better than most 1080p LCD screens out there. You can't see the difference easily between 720p and 1080p on a screen smaller than 7inch. We are probably power users (because we check reviews and benchmarks here on YT), most of the buyers are not. They just want a good phone which is budget friendly.

if you want performa with SD 710, then it need downgrades selfie camera MP. Because the spec is builded for selfie camera market. To decrease the price, they use older chipset.

the main display of MiA3 got AMOLED screen which is more vibrant in display vs. Redmi Note 7 only full HD display. Note to anyone watching: MIUI has app preloading. Old phones will always have a small edge running MIUI when used over time. Any speedtests will be affected by this and the speedtest will only be fair after running a factory reset on both phones.

luketa l yeah bruh definitely. Have installed the gcam now and its awesome. Cant believe the result of 48 mp back camera. And now with gcam the front 32 mp cam is also tuned for hdr and can see the clouds while shooting a selfie. Its awesome!

Best thing is the stock Android .But idk why the price is very high in other countries compared to India ,Usually it costs the same .Now the Indian one is much cheaper .
That speed test is bullshit, especially when there is a split second difference, because you won't ever touch the screen with your fingers at the very same time.
I prefer the mia3 cause of the wide angle camera, better frontal camera too, super amoled screen, the size and design, i think the mia3 is more gorgeus and confortable (Sorry about, my english is work in progress )
You do realize that an 1080p phone will load a bit more due to the fact that if a game does have 1080p mode then it is way more textures data to load. Because of this it is not a good comparison criteria. Peace out

I'd be buying RN7, it's cheaper now and I actually use lots of MIUI-based apps like screen recorder, dual apps, app lock and second space. Try finding those on stock Android. How about you? Stock android is not all bells and whistles. Just buy whichever suits your own workflow/usage.

6 months with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and it never fails to satisfy me. It's still a great all rounder and can still outdo other new mid-range phones. ❤️
a3's screen is not "a lot" smaller. also 720p is not just 720p, but a PENTILE 720p, making pixelation very obvious even on a 5 inch display, nevermind 6. The fact you keep on emphasizing the 720p pentile as a strength (it really is a huge compromise for cost/fingerprint sensor) endangers your credibility. Those of you really need to check it out as pixelation is very visible and a serious issue with the cc9e/a3. It could be passable at the same price range, but not at a premium. IPS is still a very good solution especially compared to a 720p OLED. Also xiaomi turned off 4k on the stock software, easily bypassed by using any other camera software, including gcam. Not sure why it's a strike there.
Mi a3 is better but much more expensive the difference between the two is not that big so i'll go with the redmi note 7 although idk who drains faster but for now my money is on redmi note 7 yey can't wait for another battery drain test btw sir vince can you do a review on cherry mobile flare s8 series that is according to them the game changer? You dont mention it. That redmi note 7 3gb of ram. But the other side is 4gb ram mi A3. I knew it because the benchmark of the redmi note 7 4gb ram is 144+++. So it unfair 4gb vs 3gb of ram.
The a3 should've dropped one camera and had a rear mounted fingerprint sensor so production costs would've allowed for a 1080p screen. Would've been a pixel killer for sure. Still an awesome phone might swap out my note 7 for it

I dont think the 720p on the amoled display is a deal breaker. 1080p just look good on paper but i doubt they can even tell the difference in a phone's screen. However, im pretty sure you can tell right away when you see an amoled display vs a tft/ips panel
I prefer the third camera with ultra wide angle, better viewing angles of display, alittle bit better battery, better 48mpx sensor (by Sony, not samsung). The mi a3 is more beautiful and you can record video in 4k resolution. Obviously you get pure Android and updates for alt least 2 years.
Display Comparison (Makes it harder for you to decide) 1080p (But LCD or IPS Display only) Battery hungry display. or 720p ( Super AMOLED Display) Battery efficient Display. Why people argue about CPU? Hey, it's a phone, not a substitute for game console) My only gripe is Xiaomi still has not got to know global phone would benefit from NFC more than from gimmick 48 megapixels which are scam on such a small sensor, anyway. Fingerprint sensor on front should be higher to allow more natural one-handed operation, thus minimizing risk of dropping phone.

Bad : hybrid dual sim ( I hate that option at most smartphones , dual sim should be with separated slots for sim and sd cards ! ) ,screen resolution , no headphones sound options in settings , low brightness level on Sunlight . Good : amazing battery life ( all day gaming , streaming or surfing ) , amazing camera ( GPixel used ) , very good hardware , nice look and easy for one hand use , 4g is really good !!!! For example I wouldn't change it for Mate 20 Lite , Redmi Note 7 , A50 , A40 , Mi 8 Lite , Mi A2 , P Smart 2019 or similar phones !!!

6 months with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and it never fails to satisfy me. It's still a great all rounder and can still outdo other new mid-range phones. ❤️

a3's screen is not "a lot" smaller. also 720p is not just 720p, but a PENTILE 720p, making pixelation very obvious even on a 5 inch display, nevermind 6. The fact you keep on emphasizing the 720p pentile as a strength (it really is a huge compromise for cost/fingerprint sensor) endangers your credibility. Those of you really need to check it out as pixelation is very visible and a serious issue with the cc9e/a3. It could be passable at the same price range, but not at a premium. IPS is still a very good solution especially compared to a 720p OLED. Also xiaomi turned off 4k on the stock software, easily bypassed by using any other camera software, including gcam. Not sure why it's a strike there.

Mi a3 is better but much more expensive the difference between the two is not that big so i'll go with the redmi note 7 although idk who drains faster but for now my money is on redmi note 7 yey can't wait for another battery drain test btw sir vince can you do a review on cherry mobile flare s8 series that is according to them the game changer? The s8 pro really looks promising as a rival to the realme c2 having mtk helio p23 and 4/64 storage

You dont mention it. That redmi note 7 3gb of ram. But the other side is 4gb ram mi A3. I knew it because the benchmark of the redmi note 7 4gb ram is 144+++. So it unfair 4gb vs 3gb of ram.

With the PUBG test, you used a different phone...there is no notch on the lower smartphone...or is the app cropped?
The a3 should've dropped one camera and had a rear mounted fingerprint sensor so production costs would've allowed for a 1080p screen. Would've been a pixel killer for sure. Still an awesome phone might swap out my note 7 for it

I dont think the 720p on the amoled display is a deal breaker. 1080p just look good on paper but i doubt they can even tell the difference in a phone's screen. However, im pretty sure you can tell right away when you see an amoled display vs a tft/ips panel
I prefer the third camera with ultra wide angle, better viewing angles of display, alittle bit better battery, better 48mpx sensor (by Sony, not samsung). The mi a3 is more beautiful and you can record video in 4k resolution. Obviously you get pure Android and updates for alt least 2 years.

Alam naman naten na ang mga Xiaomi A-series na almost focus sa camera eh at mas malinis at mas okay update dahil Android one nga kita, interms of battery kay A3 ka lalona HD+ display lang siya so tipid sa battery at adreno 600+ narin siya. mas okay graphics neto at highframes sa games at mas efficient ngalang. Pero interms of budget and look like flagship phone go for a Redmi Note 7 -8k lang at best performance narin sa katunayan dinaman sila nagkakalayo masyado eh. pero sa both na to dika lugi at dimo sila pag sisihan interms sa price

Why people argue about CPU? Hey, it's a phone, not a substitute for game console) My only gripe is Xiaomi still has not got to know global phone would benefit from NFC more than from gimmick 48 megapixels which are scam on such a small sensor, anyway.
Fingerprint sensor on front should be higher to allow more natural one-handed operation, thus minimizing risk of dropping phone.

Just install pixel experience on rn7, it works perfectly for me, smooth animations, nothing extra, and gcam works good. I just got a better version of A3 for the less price.

Bad : hybrid dual sim ( I hate that option at most smartphones , dual sim should be with separated slots for sim and sd cards ! ) ,screen resolution , no headphones sound options in settings , low brightness level on Sunlight . Good : amazing battery life ( all day gaming , streaming or surfing ) , amazing camera ( GPixel used ) , very good hardware , nice look and easy for one hand use , 4g is really good !!!! For example I wouldn't change it for Mate 20 Lite , Redmi Note 7 , A50 , A40 , Mi 8 Lite , Mi A2 , P Smart 2019 or similar phones !!!
