The Regiment - Special Air Service

The SAS was founded as a regiment in 1941 by legendary officer David Stirling, the unit would become one of the most effective special forces in the history of modern warfare. Its training is one of the most difficult endeavors a man could possibly undergo. Typically only 10% of candidates make it through the initial selection process. From a group of approximately 200 candidates, most will drop out within the first few days, and fewer than 30 will remain by the end. Those who complete all phases of selection are transferred to an operational squadron in the SAS.
