    I have been using the Fly lady system for some years now and the most important step is to declutter and use a timer to control your cleaning so you don't get stressed. As you revisit places in your home over the month gradually it will improve without you being worn out. If you miss out on things, dont beat yourself up just jump back on the system.

    Thank you so much! I discovered Fly Lady many years ago but got so overwhelmed with the emails I quit at least a few times. I've not been well for several years but I'm sorting things out and slowly starting to feel better and am wanting to get back into a cleaning routine. I rediscovered Flylady on Facebook with her live videos. At first it was fun but then she started getting political and even though I lean somewhat in the same direction she does I really don't agree with certain things she and her followers say. I am normally not that sensitive but I was literally triggered by Flylady one day during a live and I was sent right back to my childhood in a panic. Nope. No more of that for me.
    I've been searching for a way to do the Flylady system without all the intense drama and between you, the Secret Slob and a couple other channels I think I may have found a much nicer way to work out some cleaning routines.
    Thank you so much. You explained it so clearly in a way Flylady never has. That decluttering by zone comment you made was a real lightbulb moment. I've subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 😊

      I’m SO glad this video was helpful! I struggled with this system for a while several years ago, but kept coming back to it. I was finally able to make sense of it all, in my own way. I’m still struggling a little with getting my zones just right, but it really is a process. Just keep going! 💕

      Yes, I dicovered Flylady almost 30 years ago and returned recently. I was amazed at the politics and religion expressed in her videos. I do not lean in the same direction as she does, and it takes a lot of patience to sit through the music, psalms, and prayers and wait for the pertinent content! I'm happy she has found her niche, but many more of us could benefit from her system if it were free of her personal beliefs.
      Thank you so much for distilling it for us!

    09:00 I’m so glad you mentioned decluttering. I would love to do the FlyLady system, but I’m having a hard time because of clutter. I know now to spend the time decluttering instead of cleaning!!

    • @CarryGrace
      @CarryGrace  2 года назад +2

      I’m glad it was helpful! Yes, spend your time decluttering first. Also, set you timer. You can stop or keep going, but I think it’s super helpful to SEE how much can be accomplished in a short period of time. It makes it’s easier to keep carving out those pockets of time to keep working on it. I also like to recommend working in VERY small sections…one drawer, one bin and then get things put where they go. A whole room can be very overwhelming.

    This is a great summary! I’ve been doing Flylady for 3 years now and it’s been so good. But yes, the website in the beginning was overwhelming. I started 2 times before I Got It! Lol! It’s amazing how you can get so much done in the zone with 15 focused minutes. Plus the next month in the zones comes around quickly. Flylady system has made my life so calm and organized. I’m glad you did this video for newcomers to help with all the info 💕 ps I turned off all the emails from Flylady in the beginning as it really was too much.

    I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been trying to prepare myself to start the Flylady system. I'm familiar with the basics, but the most important thing I took away from this video is the decluttering by zones. I love it! Others have suggested to declutter by category...all papers, all books & reading material, all clothing. I really love decluttering by zones, this will help to get me into the habit of 15 minutes per day so I'm ready to move on to the zone cleaning, I'm hoping the 15 minute routine will be automatic. I love how simple you make this by your explanations. Tyfs! I'm a new subscriber and will be going back to watch your older videos and am looking forward to new ones!

    Thank you so much for explaining everything so well! I understand the system a little better now. I've been doing flylady for about two months. The two things I can't figure out is when do you vacuum and dust your entire house? I have a large home. I know that sounds like a stupid question but all I see is 10 minutes vacuuming and 10 minutes dusting when doing the weekly home blessing. Thank you!!

    • @CarryGrace
      @CarryGrace  4 года назад +2

      The way the system is laid out you do a quick vac and quick dust not moving all of the little items of your main living areas once a week when you do your weekly home blessing. You do a more thorough vac and dust each month of each room when you are in that particular zone. So the week that you are in Zone 4, you will dust and vac your master bedroom very thoroughly. I always recommend doing it this way for a while. It might work really well for you. If you find that things are dustier than you prefer, take a few extra mins and do the quick dust and vac each week in the other areas of your home when you are doing your weekly home blessing. I vac and dust all of my rooms each week very quickly. I prefer spending the few extra mins each week. I hope that made sense. If not, let me know and I’ll see if I can make it clearer. ❤️

    • @berrypatch5583
      @berrypatch5583 2 года назад

      @@CarryGrace I have a houseful and have found that with more people that one may need a longer and more thorough home blessing each week. Home blessing for me is 3 hours of deeper cleaning and putting three loads of laundry on the line. This has worked great to get my home in a better state consistently.
      The fifteen minute zone work is one hour for me daily in the afternoon. Half of that is in the kitchen each afternoons due to three meals for ten cooked there.
      The routines have helped immensely and I do not have to clean the whole house daily.

      I did have a video years ago about not continuing with the Flylady system. (Last year I deleted over 100 of my videos bc my kids were in them or in the intro. That video happened to be one of them. ☹️) I have several different Flylady Playlists that have documented my journey this time around. It’s been a process, one that I continue to adjust as needed. I will probably adjust again as we move from summer into homeschooling in the fall. The biggest difference this time around is that I use the 4 main parts of the system that I talked about in this video and made tweaks to fit my needs. I don’t feel like I have to follow her exact lists as written. I talked about what I am currently doing in this video ruclips.net/video/GNqNhvvxhoU/видео.html. I hope that helps. 💕

    How much time should we set aside for the Daily Focus each day Tue, Wed, Thursday, Fri? The target amount of time for the weekly home blessing on Monday is 1 Hour. So are we targeting 1 hour for each of the other days as well? Thanks. It really is overwhelming. 😬 new subscriber here

    • @CarryGrace
      @CarryGrace  4 года назад +2

      There isn’t really a set time per day. I think it depends on the task. If you follow the FL daily focus, Tuesday is Plan and Play day. Just set aside enough time to pay your bills, meal plan, etc. Wednesday is Anti-procrastination day. You may just need to make a phone call you have been putting off. It may only take you 5 -15 mins. Thursday is errand day - that could potentially take a lot of time depending on the amount of errands you have. Don’t get hung up on the amount of time. Just focus on spending some time working on what you need to. I hope that helps. 💕

    The problem with these systems, they don't take in account for animals at all and my morning is filled with doing for my animal's period, cooking their homemade wholesome foods, feeding them, cleaning after them, doing their dishes, so I only have the afternoon and evening. Does anyone know of a system that would work for those of us with animals we care for (I'm talking I have nine dogs, three cats and four parrots to do for in the mornings and much of the time runs into afternoon). I am looking at clean mama and I think her system could work for my situation since it is not divided into morning, afternoon and evening routines. Then I have to find time to do the house and yard cleaning since I am it, period. Oh, and I am in the middle of trying to declutter my home after losing all my closet space to pantry's. Hahahahaha. No hope for me???? Well, perhaps I need to, once I have my home decluttered, come up with a system for those of us in similar situations, unless someone can advise there is such a system already out there. I would be grateful.

    • @CarryGrace
      @CarryGrace  2 года назад +2

      This is a good example of why most cleaning routines are not one size fits all and need to be customized. It might work well for you to have a list of daily tasks that need to be done at some point during the day, not at an exact time of day. That way you can squeeze them in when you have pockets of time here and there.
