    Can you revisit Docebo and Converge Technology Solutions? Both companies' share prices have significantly fallen since you last reviewed them. I also believe when you last reviewed these companies, you didn't think there was much upside due to their below-average IRR's and your assumption turned out to be right! Since your last videos, their revenues have still grown, albeit at a slower pace, however, their prices have been pushed down drastically.

    Great video. Very intereting to see your approach and rationale. Love the addition of collectibles in there. I think a lot of folks who dont know anything about the collecting world dont realize how much of a money generator it can be provided you dontp pour all the profit back into a personal collection 😂

    Appreciate the transparency. I agree that index ETFs should serve as the core holdings for portfolios. Regarding your closing comments, I think you’ll find that after some research and experience the risks involved with options just aren’t worth it.

      @@investingsucks I tried options from 2014 to 2019 and at the end I did make nothing with options and my shares went a lot up during that time. That is the logical outcome. There are traders on both sides of options. One louses the same amount the other makes. And that before costs. You can forget this, when you see one group winning small amount 90% of the time (coverd calls and cash secured puts) but the option pricing is most of the time quite efficient and the other 10% of the time louses all the gains.

    Appreciate the good video. Appreciate your thoughts. I would make one small comment though: in my super humble opinion, while it may be a reason to not buy a great company, being fairly valued is not a reason to sell a great company.

    The international versus US stock debate is really interesting. I am personally on the side of US stocks, just for reasons like political and currency risk. And I know this is kind of the generic argument, but all of the top weightings in the S&P 500 are “international companies”, so I feel I get enough exposure to international markets through those. For me, it’s not so much about performance chasing, because I agree that is very dangerous and common amongst retail. It’s more a case against betting against the United States. The US still attracts all of the top talent in the world, still has the reserve currency, and very low political risk. I just can’t bet against it. Sure valuations may be stretched, but if I’m averaging into that index for the next 30, 40 years, I’m not concerned about stretched valuations right now. Regardless, it’s always a debate I love to have

    • @investingsucks
      @investingsucks  Год назад +1

      I see your point, but historically stocks from a particular country (US for example) with international revenues tend to move more in line with the index they belong to as opposed to other stocks from foreign countries that they do business in

    Also, once you get into Options or Covered Calls would love to see a video of what you use and your process. I was thinking about that before but seems like on certain platforms the fees are really high in Canada but when I watch US youtubers they love it because fees are so low over there.

    Thanks for the transparency in revealing your portfolio and also sharing a bit of your journey. Very interesting holdings you have. In a high interest environment and perhaps a recession on the way, I think it’s a good decision to not hold any Brookfield companies until the share-prices are attractive again.

    Like you mentioned, I expected more of your portfolio in individual companies. Keeping in mind you're looking towards home ownership (Ben Felix has a video on that too 😊), you have a great balanced portfolio, and GICs look pretty good now at 5+% (hope your cash is pulling 2.5% in an EQ savings account). I'm overweight XGRO myself, for the same reasons you're in XEQT (I've got 30yrs on you) . I'm still bullish on BN. Thanks for sharing.

Nice strategy, not what I expected as you mentionned with your style of videos but informative and a good perspective, thanks for sharing. Fellow Waterloo area guy, cool. Great vid, transparent and logical approach. I'm a holder of EQB as well, glad they're finally doing well!
    Thats also funny about the collectibles. I used to collect CGC comics and actually had New Mutants 98 (first appearance of Deadpool) and sold it during pandemic. At one point had about 15 CGC comics but sold 11 of them and down to just 4 now. Definitely interesting way to invest if you can time it well (when people have extra money to burn like during the pandemic) or like you mentioned when the movies are coming out. X-Men and FF4 might have a bump when Marvel finally releases those movies.

    I am always fascinated by what sensible people come up with as investment strategies (99% of YT disqualified automatically :) I am on a totally different course. I own no ETFs whatsoever. 100% individual stocks mixed with options, which you touched on at the end and i would nod and say give it a try. I am mainly a put seller (very rarely do calls and when i do, its usually contracts 1 year out and always on the long side). 99% of the cases are really puts. I have usually up to 3 or 4 contracts at any given moment. So far, it feels like i have found something that works for me and has provided a good return. I feel very, very comfortable selling puts on a regular basis. Been doing it for 2 and a half years and have been assigned 5 times. I still hold 4 out of the 5 companies in question. It's a wonderful way to get some good deals if an assignment happens, and to make some cash while waiting for a good fish to take the bate. Great video in a tone i wish was the norm in YT.

    This is the one taboo that youtube finance inevitably committed. I wrote this as I wont watch the vid out of respects for your expertise. Many finance channels have done this and subsequently, they struggle to control personal bias. Gram stephan, Financial Edu, u name it. They all fall toward the stock hyping and picking loophole. Financial Edu was particularly the same. His views were tiny during the early time when he was making financial tutorial video. The moment he shows his pants, the views and subscribers jumped.

    Hi, love your channel, I’ve learnt a ton from you. Quick question, are dividends from XEQT taxed in a TSFA? I understand if you own US based stocks there’s tax’s still, does holding the ETF help get around that? Thanks again!

    • @investingsucks
      @investingsucks  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! Yes dividends paid by xeqt from us companies have withholding tax. If you hold xeqt in a tfsa then there's no way of getting around it unfortunately. But the overall impact is very minimal
