you could take schofield tp avalon , make a right then a left on its either hertzog or flamingo (same road) it takes you to western way right were you come off of the pkway and avoid the tolls or you could pass herztog or flamingo and take avalon to western way
Yes. There are so many options. I chose this one because it is the fastest and that is what people usually ask us. lol. But all of these routes are great options.
Great job, Stef. Don't know if you're aware, but there is another Disney World shortcut going in from Highway 27 at Sawgrass Bay Blvd. It will connect the Serenoa neighborhoods to Flemings Road, which then turns into Western Way. The project is supposed to be done no later than January 1st, 2026. They have a sign up about the project right now at the end Sawgrass Bay Blvd.
Thank you. Yes. I just drove by there this week and saw the sign. I'm super excited about this one, too. I love those neighborhoods. It is definitely on my list to cover.
I work on Disney property, and live in Clermont. I have taken Scofield a majority of the time when it was all clay, except when it has rained. Awesome secret, it’s a beautiful drive, along with the occasional loose cow, or stuck car, always an adventure. The paving was needed, but it’s a shame to see this beautiful area get plowed through and developed.
Yes. It is definitely needed. But it is definitely sad to see the developments, too. It is such a beautiful drive, I almost hate to give up the secret. lol.
My pleasure! This was such a fun drive and it really makes Clermont a great option. I really like the community and services they have available there, too. I'm hoping to show more of that in the coming months.
It was close enough and still affordable, but it could really take a while to get there with traffic. WIth this option open, it makes is feel so much closer and more accessible.
This is awesome! Clermont is my neighborhood preference so to see such a beautiful 'backroads' option to Disney is now open is very exciting! My EXP Realty Realtor Donna sends me listings daily so we're hopeful we'll be your neighbors eventually! :D Thanks so much Stef(sp?)!
I know this is an option. But at certain times of day the school traffic is seriously limiting. For people in Clermont trying to get to Disney during busy times. This could be a game changer.
Hwy 27 has several gas stations. There is more changes coming to Schofield Rd. and the intersection with Avalon Rd. The newest gas station in Horizon West is the 7-Eleven on Western Way beside Flamingo Crossing with Target, Starbucks and the shopping village. It just opened this week.
I know. It saddens me too. I'm really glad to hear they are putting in a light so quickly to Avalon Road. I hope this helps prevent accidents. I'm hoping when they open the Sawgrass pathway, it will relieve some of the pressure from this road, too. But only time will tell. Be safe!
Yes. This area is confusing for a local person, too. lol. However, if you are looking for a home in the Clermont area, this is a great huge help to get to the parks. - Stef.

Confusing from an out of state person...
