- Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, in the new episode of #SafeSpace , sits with Bollywood Bubble at her home in Mumbai, discussing her journey from beauty pageant to TV industry. Nimrit takes us back to her Army background, following Priyanka Chopra and Sushmita Sen's footsteps to participate in Miss India, coming to Mumbai with a six-month timeline from her parents, battling the odds and never being able to crack any AD commercial. Abdu disadvantage was language barrier nobody bothered to explain him many things instead made him believe false theories or just used him for emotional support or for fun.

It's quite sad that she still hasn't fully understood as to why the fallout with Abdu was her doing as well. It's not just about the makers. Yes, they portrayed their bond quite wrongly in the later stages of the show. They also put the curtains on their bond on TV when they didn't air the clarification that Abdu made to Nimrit, regarding his call with her parents, after he came back to the show. Yes, there was a time when Abdu was head over heels in love with her. But, it was natural since he mistook care for love (which is normal for someone his age) as he and Nimrit were actually that close with each other.
I was watching BB16 primarily for Abdu and Nimrit because their bond was a pure bond. It made me feel great as a viewer that here was a healthy and an unconditional friendship to watch on Indian Reality Television. However, the moment she shifted her emotional anchor to Sajid and ShivT. is exactly when the problems began. As someone who advocated for mental health, she should have unabashedly stood up for Abdu when Sajid did the birthday prank on him, or when he was literally bullying him in front of her regarding their relationship. For Abdu, Nimrit was always his No.1 priority. It was the same for her too for quite some time. But, Sajid, ShivT., and Stan did all they could to break or dilute their friendship for the sake of their game, and she started prioritizing them for the game as well. When they both drifted apart, it actually affected me, as a viewer, to see such a beautiful friendship go down the drain. I wish both of them all the best for their friendship and I hope that they can make amends for whatever it is worth. For me, BB16 was and will always be the #NIMDU season. Thanks.🙂🍀
