Woh, hold the press! Disney just lost another Star Wars fan over Acolyte and so many very bad decisions regarding the Star Wars franchise! They lost ME!
Disney didn't create Ahsoka but since she came into live action, under Disney she has only had like 3 great scenes
True. She was created during the Clone Wars. And she was a very interesting character.
So much wasted potential on Disney's side. Why didn't they adapt the Zahn novels? A couple tweaks to hand it off to a younger generation/cast. It's just maddening. 😢
Absolutely!!!!
Its because they are purposefully trying to alienate/piss off fans like you and many others who put their souls into loving this franchise. All to market it to people who never gave a shit about it in the first place. This has been hollywood 101 with any beloved franchise recently.
Sadly so very true.
This. Why pander to an audience that doesn't exist?
The nuclear powered misandry of Kathleen Kennedy fatally poisoned Lucasfilm the moment she was placed in charge.
We're just now recognizing that star wars was six George Lucas movies and everything else is knock offs.
That is what it feels like.
re-read and agreeing with you.
It took the Acolyte for you to go "Im out" they butchered Luke Skywalker as a character, and you still went "yeah Ill have me some more of that"
Nope. Actually, I walked away back then when Luke tossed his lightsaber over his shoulder. The only reason I started coming back was mostly due to Mandalorian. But now, too many things have utterly failed. I kept trying to give it a chance and kept hoping that SOMETHING would be better. But nope... this was the end for me.
Don't feel bad. Sooner or later, everybody will be out.
ANd you know what, that is such a bad thing because such a beloved franchise is suffering from utterly bad mishandling of the whole.
The word is Apathy, welcome to the party!
At nearly 50 Apathy is slowly becoming my middle name.
I'm only 29, never read the novels myself, but completely get where you're coming from. The last good Star Wars movie was ROTS imo, before Disney neutered the film series.
Revenge of the Sith was an interesting movie. I did like a lot of what they were doing in the prequels, and yet can't help but feel like they too missed their mark.
You nailed it. I walked away from Star Wars after seeing The Force Awakens. I came out of the theater and said to my buddy, they just re-fed us episode 4, never bothered to give us the original characters together again (including Chewwy and Lando ) then disrespectfully killed Han in the middle of it. I knew Disney would never understand the characters or the story so I walked. I first saw Star Wars in the summer of 77 at a drive in the first time. 38 years a fan ended after one movie.
My brother too said he is out of SW. As for me, I'm close to being at that place as well. It sucks.. Never thought I'd actually be in that position.
There are so many of us and we are growing.
Disney is allergic to money now
Every time I read this it makes me laugh.
I'll tell you why, because they took an Olympic style swan dive straight down the l. g..bt. hole of death. Now everything is FAB-U-LOUS!!!!! 😢
Agreeing with that sentiment.
Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for making that video and expressing your honest thoughts and concerns. I really appreciated watching it. I also want you to know that you’re not alone in your feelings. But, we will always have the Lucas era of SW. That can never be taken from us. Lastly, I’m glad to hear that you’re no longer supporting the current Disney era of SW. It’s sad to say but, aside from the projects that feature the character Cassian Andor, everything they’ve made under the Disney banner is garbage fan fiction. All of it is unwatchable and definitely not worth our hard earned money or our valuable time. Keep loving what you love and avoid the junk. MTFBWY.
Thank you for taking the time to write this comment. I really appreciate it and agree with you.
I have that same Darth Vader cup! My dad and I used it to roll dice while playing Star Wars: Rebellion. Those are good memories!
Sweet! Are you referring to my Hot Chocolate Cup? That was a gift from my family on Christmas.
I’ve been out since the Obiwan show. That was the worst piece of shit I’ve ever seen, no interest in watching anything from Disney ever again. And I’ve loved Star Wars my entire life
As you can see, I feel the same way. For me, I just kept hope alive and kept hoping and wanting more. More, that they completely failed to do. I was almost out several times. But them Mandalorian came out and I really enjoyed that Andor was well done... but still that forced agenda keeps getting shoved in where it does not belong and never needed to be. And so, many of us fans that have held on for so long are now continuing to leave in droves.
Even the last season of The Bad Batch was bad. Such a predictable, boring mess. I'm waiting for Lucas to buy back Star Wars and make all Disney SW non-canon and then make his own sequel trilogy.
At this point I can only hope, wish, and dream that Star Wars is somehow, legally placed under the complete control of someone who actually LOVES the franchise and the fans.
Thank you to everyone for all commentary. The good and the bad. As you see, I am just a genuine up-front kind of guy, and I never thought this video would get over a thousand views. Seriously, thank you for taking the time to comment and watch this video as much as you did.
Blame Kathleen Kennedy and Leslye Headland. Those people should never touch Star Wars again. Aycolyte is worse than the sequels. It doesn't follow George Lucas's vision and makes Anakin Skywalker's prophecy look insignificant. The Clone Wars had the Night Sisters and the Mortis Gods because it explains that there are other force-sensitive users in the Galaxy other than the Jedi and the Sith. Acolyte doesn't show anything refreshing and the Space Witches' ritual: "The Power of Many," is the dumbest thing I've ever seen in the series.
I never bothered to watch the third episode. And, I do agree with what your saying.
Luckily, Star Wars is big enough that you can like what you like and dislike what you dislike. Enjoy.
Absolutely true.
First I have to say the art from your comic is beautiful and your collection is awesome. I've been out since "the last Jedi" I'm black and Luke was my hero for as long as I can remember. I don't even remember when I first watched star wars, I was like 6 when episode 1 came out and I was too excited to care I had to wait for the tape, still have it.
Thank you so very much. Feel free to check out more of my channel and my Facebook Profile. I am on Facebook far more often under my name. Timothy Joe Himes. Himesight: Creative Studios. Also, the 2nd issue of my comic Sovereign: The Eclipse Stone is on Kickstarter now in Pre-launch, to be launching very soon. And, I have several prints left of the first issue so just contact me if you're interested. I am ALWAYS looking for readers and ALWAYS interested in EARNING FANS of my work.
Young guy here, 19 years old, grew up with Indiana Jones mostly. As for Star Wars, the prequels and the Clone Wars were my introduction. When I got older I watched the Original Trilogy, and it was amazing. Just the amount of life and hope and passion in it, the sheer inspiration, the Hero’s journey in its purest form.
Star Wars doesn’t have that anymore. The writers just don’t care.
This is part of my point. Exactly.
Similarly grew up a huge Star Wats fan. Disney absolutely destroyed the franchise. Granted, I’ve didn’t get into any of the side stories/books, but ive spent quite a bit of money on merchandise in my lifetime.
I quit supporting Star Wars due to the Agenda. For Disney, the Agenda is priority #1 and arguably the only priority. I don’t care if someone has a different lifestyle, is female, is tall, short, nerdy etc. I watch shows to escape momentarily from the stresses of life.
Selling stress (the political divide) isn’t going to sell well, especially when fans want to escape it!
Good luck with your endeavors!
Thank you very much for the response. I am in complete agreement with what you commented. And thank you! I have my first appearance scheduled for tomorrow 10am to 3pm at River Town Games in Red Wing MN.
I bought disney+ sub hoping to enjoy everything and all the star wars content related to series and movies (I have only seen the 9 main movies) right now im watching first season of clone wars and my plan was to continue to watch all in release order. But im gettin sad hearing everyone, almost everyone talking about series like ashoka, boba fett, kenobi and now this new one being very very very bad, so im indecisive if to only watch the cartoons or to see if i get to like the new series
It honestly boils down to the fact that if YOU enjoy it, than watch it. Be a fan of the new frontier of what has been done to Star Wars. But for me, I am out. You have the right to like what you like, and to watch what you want to watch regardless of any one else's opinion. Only YOUR opinion matters to you. So, watch it all. Enjoy everything that you do.
I feel you buddy.
Thank you.
I got about halfway through your video and didn't hear any specific examples from the show that illustrate your point. Should I keep watching?
I was really trying to state my point without having to get into the deep nitty gritty of everything. But if that is something that would interest you more, please let me know and I would do it.
I agree. I'm trying to make it through The Acolyte, but it's exactly as you describe. I thought Ashoka was similar. And let me add this: The Book of Boba Fett, which has a "cis gender" lead, was HORRIBLE. So, this is a much bigger problem than one series. You are right.
Thank you.
The only part of this comment that I take issue with at all, is the term "Cis Gender". This is something that keeps getting thrown around and it is nothing short of being an offensive term on all levels. I look at this like the N word.
I grew up with star wars what it is now just don't cut it I gave it a try but after so many times they let me down
This is exactly how so many of us feel.
Bye! 👋
🤣
All good. Thank you.
Have you play all star wars video games
Unfortunately, no. I have played a few things here and there, but I am not really into video games anymore. I have not been for over a decade. I did however get into the Table Tope Role Playing games published by West End Games using the D6 game system.

Echo sucked I'm sorry and it sucked bc the character wasn't Echo lol
That's completely fine. For me, I came from NOT knowing anything about Echo at all. I never heard of her until I was hired to create art featuring her. So, I didn't have the background knowledge of what she was published in. I am looking forward to the new Daredevil, and what I have heard so far, keeps me interested. If they blow that again, I may well be out of that as well.
Welcome to this 12 year old party pal.
Oh. It's been going on for decades. But hit hard within the last twenty years.
a 45 min rant from a 50+ year old man whining about a show about aliens and laser swords no longer catering to one specific audience. welcome to ameriKKKa
That was rude. I was trying to address things that I am concerned about. If you are not into that, that's totally cool as well. I hope that you find and or have something that draws and holds your interest. Thank you for taking the time to comment good or bad.
No one cares.
I care. And so do / did so many other people.
@@himesightcreativestudios3490 Most of us saw the writing on the wall around TLJ. We've been disappointed so long, we really don't care. I can't bring myself to watch SW at all and put my massive collection in storage. SW is dead. You'll feel better when you let go of your attachment to it. It takes time.
@@BRockIITWi Yeah Im shocked it took Acolyte for this guy to realise this?
@VadersFist95 People were hopeful things would change. It's hard to let go of things that have been an influence in your life for decades.
@@BRockIITWi it’s Disney. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
