Your very good Doctor, I wish you can help me with my tight thumb IP joint arthritis. It’s really bothering me and cortisone doesn’t help me anymore. Plus my doctors from seton hospital are saying it’s not fixable or they can’t operate it.

Can it be done on Thumb IP joint?

It can be done at any finger joint but it makes no sense. These implants tend to luxate under high tension, so it is not recommended if you work with your hands. Your thumb is due to the opposition always under high tension, so an arthrodesis is recommended.
