My thought exactly.
Duster is having those stickman eyes,
Lucas has big, beady all-black eyes,
and Kumatora is looking like an anime girl.
Rope Snake is kind of... chibi? I don't know how to describe it.
i mean, lucas and rope snake's are the same as in other artwork (and in-game) and maybe duster's too?
but i mean i was listening to the music so i didn't notice kuma had anime eyes until you said it lol
All of them fit their expressions. Duster looks incredibly apathetic so his lack of detail expresses that. Kumatora has the most energy here so she's the most detailed. And Lucas is so terrified that he can see up Kumatora's skirt his eyes were drained from his face from the fear.
they're 4 different characters.
see were going with early dragon quest style with the eyes here, the main boy gets large and uncolored, female gets large and colorful, and side boy gets dots.
the player characters of dragon quest 2 for the NES are perfect examples of it.
i really like how you dont really need to play the other mother games to understand mother 3 its just basically some extra background knowledge to understand the story a bit better
You also don’t need to play MOTHER to understand Earthbound, once again just adding extra background context for the story. But it’s really cool how all three narratives are loosely tied into each other (MOTHER being the origins of Giegue/Giygas, Earthbound being the defeat of Giygas and the origin of Porky, and Mother 3 being the defeat of Porky and the end of the trilogy)
