Why not guy, The Khmer Empire was established by King Jayavarman II in 802 CE, who declared himself a "universal monarch" and founded the capital at Mount Kulen.
It is often considered the beginning of the Angkorian period, named after its capital city, Angkor.

The truth the world needs to know: Cambodia is the Mother of Thailand. In the beginning, Thais from Yunnnan China migrated to Cambodia/Khmer Empire, lived under Cambodian rule, infused with Cambodians and assimilated to Cambodian culture. After many centuries living under Cambodian rule, Thais broke away from Cambodia when the Empire was crumbling. Without Cambodia's generosity, there WOULD NEVER EVER BE THAILAND; therefore, Cambodia is the mother of the said nation. Hence, Thai culture is almost an exact copy of the Cambofdians'. SPREAD THIS TRUTH
