The Orville is a breath of fresh air in the sci-fi genre, effortlessly blending humor, heart, and high-stakes space exploration. Seth MacFarlane's brainchild strikes the perfect balance between homage to classic space operas and a witty, contemporary narrative.
The show's strength lies in its characters, each one a unique and lovable addition to the diverse crew. The chemistry among the cast is palpable, making every moment, whether comedic or dramatic, resonate with authenticity. MacFarlane's Captain Ed Mercer leads with a perfect mix of charisma and vulnerability, creating a protagonist you can't help but root for.
The Orville's writing is a standout feature, weaving intricate plots with social commentary and clever humor. It fearlessly tackles relevant issues while maintaining a sense of optimism and hope, mirroring the best traditions of the sci-fi genre. The special effects are top-notch, creating visually stunning scenes that rival big-budget productions.
What sets The Orville apart is its ability to surprise and delight. It's not afraid to take risks, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats while delivering moments of genuine emotion. Whether you're a hardcore sci-fi fan or just looking for a captivating and entertaining series, The Orville is a journey worth taking. In a universe filled with options, The Orville stands out as a shining star in the vast expanse of television. Welcome to Talking The Orville! Where a fan can be a fan... ENJOY WHAT YOU LIKE.

I would absolutely love to see her leading the Orville! They are veterans and war heros in the show now and where do the paths lead from here? She was the glue
I enjoy Adrianne Palicki, she is amazing!!! Hope she get promoted to Captain and Seth gets Promoted to Admiral
Hope she returns! Hard to picture the show without her!
We can't expect the actors to pass up other opportunities for movies or shows just on the off chance that the Orville may get another season. If she doesn't have any other engagements I'm sure she will return.
If the Orville Evangelist doesn't have a TikTok account, you really should. Your videos are very clip-able, and it could drive more eyes to your RUclips channel.
I want as many seasons as they are real good!
I can completely understand why the actors would be upset and want to move on. This show has been around since 2018 and we are still not even into season 4 yet. I also think its a mistake to move away from the comedic aspect of the show, it worked!! Very well. Thats what set the orville apart from all the other sci fi series and movies.
As a performer I totally understand this viewpoint. I may pencil in a gig I enjoy, but if a well paid job comes up for that date I need a strong yes or no from the original gig.
Hopefully she'll be there full time, but even if she can't commit we could always see her on the odd episode as the Captain of her own ship.
Here’s hoping, just started a rewatch to introduce the show to my teenager. We were watching futurama and then Hulu brought it back, here’s hoping for a repeat
Me Too !! She is definitely returning !!
Unless she is offered a big move role.
I saw the Watchers last night, the movie got Bad reviews, I really liked it 😳
I would prefer to wait another year, if it frees up her calender
Season 4 without Ed and Kelly, just won't be the same. Not sure how I feel about this. Will I watch?
There was a reason why there was so much time in between seasons and that was because of Covid-19.
That's only part of it. Every other show was affected by Covid and for the most part they didn't have delays anywhere close to as long. Covid did play some role, but the biggest reason is likely Seth's availability because he always has so much going on.
They had 26 episodes over the first two seasons (2 years), then another 10 for the third season. Covid slowed them down a lot (it actually shut down production at least once), but the other factors were all the effects, which took a long time, and the fact that Seth co-wrote everything and his schedule delayed things. If you add it all up, they did 36 episodes in five years. That's a pretty low rate. But no matter what the reasons, the problem with a low production rate is that actors cannot do other projects, so they are missing opportunities to work and get paid.
If she ends up not returning... it wouldn't feel the same... having already lost Alara... the rotating cast of female stars on the show is getting to be a weird situation.
I have seen the clip of her talking about the Orville on the inside of you podcast and she wasn’t acting like she wouldn’t return she was just explaining her experience making the show so far and she wasn’t criticizing Seth’s writing just that him wanting to write every episode himself and that often times held up production cause doctor who another science fiction show I love will have guest writers so the showrunner at the time isn’t left writing the entire season themselves and it felt like by her statement that he didn’t want to have guest writers writing episodes and that explains why they have only made 33 episodes in 6 years at the time of the interview
I'm sure the Cardassian Gul Madred from TNG "Chain of Command" could organise more seasons. ;-)
You need, at the very least, to have Ed or Kelly as regular and since Seth might not have the time to a regular, the show is going to need Adrianne's Kelly Gracen. No one else on that show really seems capable of commanding the Orville and it would be tough to bring someone else in as the lead at this point.
A fifth season? I don't know..... So that will be 5 seasons in 12 years then?
I'd like to add I am a fan for sure.... An impatient one, that is...
I'm not holding out hope for The Orville to return. there's just an equal a chance for it to be canceled in the last minute on an executives whim.
Talla needs to come back also ❤
