I have found with my Athletes’ that they can normally front squat twice as much as they can goblet squat. Is there any sort of conversion rate for goblet squat to overhead squat?
Just tried to overhead squat in my garage gym with an empty 20 kg bar. I just can't get down to full squat. My lower back lacks the mobility. I can feel it being too tight. My goblet and front squat are fine and I'm able to do those without any issues.
@@jacklumber6242 I think so, yes. I do those two moves every day. It helps. Doing the Overhead squats is going to take some time to master but it always seems to help.
2?’s, I have used RFE split squats & Don Beebe lunges w/huge success. Similar to Mike Boyle rev slide-board lunges. Started using your OHDS 2yrs ago w/great results. In a 4wk cycle, would you do OHDS one day & RFE the other? Or Cut the sets & do both on the same day? Other? Do you find middle school kids back squat 2.5x’s more than they OHDS?
Assuming good pusture preceeds theese i agree. Also the "idiotic" question might be how to correct bar, shoulder alignment in the event of aggressive hip drive standing up. The answer is push your knees out above parallel as im assuming this is a long femur athlete with a tad of valgus out of the hole.
Thanks, they have been a staple since your Overhead squat Article in Wandering Weights.
Glad to hear it

..."I'm right". Love it, coach!

So....?
@@DanJohnStrengthCoach Sorry. Do you think doing goblet squats and hanging daily will eventually help to squat all the way down in overhead squat?

Well, I don’t do lunges, so I don’t know. Kids naturally, will back squat more, but they’re such great value in doing the overhead work.
Does the shoulder posture uhh... according to body type determine what shoulder squat is right?
That's a big factor for many, yes.
Kindly Dan John " i'm right"
This is an older video
But still has some truths.
