Hiiiiii, this was very helpful thank you so much 🥰 I was just wondering are you allowed to go to different colleges to go to the gym and to their self catering ect? and how does freshers week work?
You may actually find private rentals less expensive. University accomodation includes catering costs etc in their fee, whereas private rentals don't have this, and private rentals can be less central, so they can be cheaper.
Hey, I believe that everything is subject to change depending on government guidelines as legislation is rolled out, but if you email your college they will tell you their specific rules. You can see the university's latest general policies here: www.dur.ac.uk/coronavirus/students/latestnews/
yes, the entry requirements are A-Level AAB or International Baccalaureate 36 :) For more details about international entry requirements they have this page on their website: www.durham.ac.uk/study/courses/f400/
Thank you for the video!! If I want a hill college that is quiet, which college would you suggest to me? I don't care about doing sports or socialise. I just want a quiet place that I can contribute my time for studying, and maybe have a nice view.
I'm so happy that you liked the video! In terms of colleges being quiet, each college will have people who are loud and excitable, especially so for First Year students. Trevelyan College was stereotypically the friendliest college, with groups of people who were quieter (but even Trevs has some loud students). Mary's has some quiet students too, and a lovely view from the Ferguson building, but Mary's is louder than Trevs, probably because it is larger. If you ever find that you need more quiet space, each college has a library room. The Trevs library is good for independent studying, with little study desks (you can see a glimpse of it from the outside in my latest Durham College tour), whereas the Mary's library is a more open-planned communal room. During exam season, the Bill Bryson library (the main university library) is open 24 hours a day, so that is a very focused study space, and it is on the Hill, so it's very close to both Trevs and Mary's. Overall, even though there are loud students everywhere, most likely the quietest college will be Trevs, and everyone I knew from there was lovely :)
Hello, I hope you are in the pink of your health. I am a Master’s aspirant and have received admit/offer from Durham University Business School for the program Msc Management (Finance). I have accepted the offer and looking forward to join the program this September. I am actually looking forward so some assistance in regards to accommodation, General lecture timing everyday, how many lectures in a week and how once can secure SA, TA and/or RA opportunities. I am also looking forward to book pvt accommodation and looking forward to collaborate with a group. If you have any contacts I would be obliged if you can connect me with them. I appreciate your time and efforts for going through my message. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Regards.
If you contact the university regarding the matter then they may be able to make a change. The reason why people cannot often change colleges is because there are only so many places per college, and they are usually full to capacity

hello, I had a question is that, as an international student after completing the foundation year will I be guaranteed a place at Durham main campus?
Can you shed some light on how cheaper is university accomodation compared to private rentals?
You may actually find private rentals less expensive. University accomodation includes catering costs etc in their fee, whereas private rentals don't have this, and private rentals can be less central, so they can be cheaper.
@@SapphireDemirsoz How much does university accomodation cost including catering and everything?
@@anishmal2305 each college has a different price, and all prices are listed on the Durham University website.
@Anish Mail are you planning to join the univ this September?
@@harshitkhilani5796 Nope. I'm applying this year
What course did/do you take up at Durham? :))
I studied English Literature and Education Studies :)
Will there be a system of households this year or will people from different colleges be able to mix?

Which building would postgraduate students of St Mary's stay in?
When I was an undergrad at Mary’s there were postgrads in the same building as us :) (eg Williamson and Ferguson, the main Mary’s buildings)
Can u say something about the entry requirements for international student who is opting for Under-graduation in Archaeology!!!?
