0:54 As a welder. This right here makes me have nightmares. I understand that beginners will have craters porosity toe cracks overlaps undercuts and what not. If I'm paying somebody to weld pipe and I see this. I would want you to pay me for what I just saw lmao
@@prestonwilliams5244 welds are strong no matter how it looks. An E7018 takes 70,000lbs of tensile strength to break for example. The only time you'd be able to break a weld without tools is a very bad and small weld. Even okay tack welds most often require a grinder and a big hammer to break.
I started welding a few months ago.. On the job training for a couple weeks and all of the jobs during training were for paying customers. So really no practice we just jumped straight into production with no experience. Nothing I've done has looked this bad. Nothing the other rookie has done looks this bad either. The worst thing that's happened is burning dime sized holes sometimes that need patched, or getting flashed a couple times a week. I dont understand how the clumpy chunky turd welds in this video could have ever happened 😆😆
I started and learned the same way man. One thing i learned is its all about prep, and fit. The rest isn’t too hard (usually) once its prepped and fit properly.
I recommend doing some larger projects. It takes time to get past the "oh shit I don't know what I'm doing" stage and move into the "ok I see what's happening, and I'm starting to notice some things" phase, where you can actually begin to improve your technique. If you only weld for 5 minutes and then put it down for 6 months, when you come back you won't have any improvements. Also make sure you have your welding setup correct or you'll be making things harder for yourself.
Yeah we needed another look at everything 15 seconds later.

What's scary is that this crap can end up in public use and endanger innocent, unsuspecting people.
