Sounds like the Jaguar marketing team got their inspiration from this Antonio Gramsci quote: 'The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born: now is the time of monsters.' 😆😆😆
In the past, motor manufacturers would commission marketing companies to research public opinion in order to gain a true understanding of what the motorist really wanted... Is that not a thing anymore?
In the past what powers it was not up for debate, ok the number of cylinders or engine capacity, but if they’d asked customers what type of fuel pump do you want they’d have just got blank looks. It’s the same now, like it or not the ICE is being gradually phased out, would you like a say in how many IGFETs are in the motor driver?
I have a feeling this is a joke for people to talk about Jaguar and on December 3rd it will be surprise,we have not lost the plot and thanks for the free advertising .
Jaguar’s problems has been longer than those of Bud Light. They had long had the stigma of being an old man’s car since the 1990s. They also produced nothing exciting since the XJ220
It will take out Land Rover as well. Sadly I live in the town where the Land Rover factory is and if the woke management cause the demise of the factory they will not only take out a factory but a whole community around it. Most place's that lost their car factories in the UK aren't as great as they used to be.
@ the XK wasn’t bad but it wasn’t much to talk about, much like the Ferrari Roma - but then, not a fan of grand tourers - it did nothing to stop Jaguar’s decline
Your analysis was spot on! What on earth have the top brass done to this magnificent company…absolute rank stupidity. No appreciation of their past and a misplaced vision of their future, if indeed they have a future. I’m so very sad,. I strived all my life to get a Jag. Marvellous cars, I had an XFs and then an F type V6s. On my AWD V8 F type R now, I can’t praise it enough. Jag have completely lost their way, and like you, I fear they won’t survive. Barking mad marketing!
I doubt that, the primary purpose of a car is to get a bunch of people and their stuff from A-B and SUVs are designed to do exactly that which is why people buy them.
In around 1986 as a kid my dads friend gave me a lift in his xj6 3.0 litre. I remember the sound, the dip and the acceleration to this day. I've wanted a jag for a long time, but I've never trusted the quality. I always feel that the brand could go bust any minute. So I have gone with more boring but reliable brands. Won't go for Jag at all now.
Add to your quote "no doubt the electric market is growing" Whilst I agree, it's also artificially inflated. You can barely get a works vehicle offering, that isn't electric. Obviously, I get the push. But the real ev market is in the used car sector. How many of those 3 year ex fleet vehicles, are being sold? There's a reason the depreciation is so great, because the used market isn't there.
Every time I listen to this debate I think of Hermann Hauser, the founder of Acorn Computers and ARM, and his comments about 'transformational technologies' (you can find his talk on RUclips). He speaks as a venture-capitalist and looks at the impact upon investment opportunity. He states that each transformational technology is recognised because once adopted it is very hard to go back. You can't un-invent the computer, for example. More importantly, each outgoing technology which it replaces tends to see domination by monopoly. Today we see all the car companies amalgamating. Is that the monopoly? Yet investment in electric vehicles is prohibitively expensive and the preserve of the very few BYD and Tesla principally. Is that the monopoly? The amalgamated car companies are all seeking to go fully electric (as Jaguar are promising, too) and to jump onto the same bandwagon. So all giant car companies are electric, hugely expansive, and dependant on high volume manufacturing to secure a return - is that the monopoly? If so, what does that say about the private electric motor vehicle? Is this the monopoly at the end of a technology. If so, it is not the future. What is?
Well , the ad has been shown on virtually every car channel on Utube and to news channels, so it’s created quite a storm . Job done ? I think it’s a joke but everyone is talking about it
I used to own a jaguar xj8, wood leather loved it, reliability was crap but l still loved it, then there was no wood which means no english feel, l left and went to mercedes, they have finally lost the plot
You can't live on nostalgia. We're running out of baby boomers who remember these things. Means nothing to modern young ppl. Why pay more for dinosaurs when you can get a cheaper and better Chinese car. Very few of these legacy companies will survive.

Excellent!

Depends who they've been talking to perhaps?
@@BrownCarGuymy point entirely... WTF have they been talking to because it certainly ain't jaguar drivers.

That would be something 😜😂
Jaguars share price will do the same as Budweisers did with Dilan Mulvaney.

You clearly know nothing about Jaguar - you sound like the guy who said Jaguar has zero equity....

Keep hold of that F-Type R!! 🤩
They have literally sold their soul to the agenda !
Great video 👏. By the way… you should review the Lotus Emira, would love to hear your opinion about it!
Lotus UK PR has been pretty useless as far as I'm concerned unfortunately.
SUVS are old hat now, very soon people will go back to more traditional cars, wait and watch.
Interesting. As I mentioned in my Skoda Octavia review, Skoda's biggest selling model remains the Octavia in saloon and estate guises!
I doubt that, the primary purpose of a car is to get a bunch of people and their stuff from A-B and SUVs are designed to do exactly that which is why people buy them.
i remember the exact same scene. loved that jaaaaaaaaaaaaaag
Imprinted on my soul that sequence!

Everyone calm down. We’re just a couple of weeks until this is revealed as a prank

Was it Thierry Bolloré who started the rot of Jaguar by suggesting this ludicrous plan for the brand, then jumped ship?

Jag has shat in its own mouth.
It's TATA to jaGuar
From "Grace - Space - Pace" to "Woke - Joke - Broke" in less than the time it takes to say "What the hell is this garbage?"
They should have changed the brand name, at least then current Jag owners wouldn't have wear a false beard and a big hat,, before going for a drive
