Coooool - this is going to be a great series. I have suspected that one day your son would finally trip the switch for you to explore micro-controllers. Any chance your son is willing to show us some automation projects he’s worked on as well? 👍😎👍

Thanks Joel. My son is pretty busy raising a family and does most of his at work but I'm sure he would be happy to share if he has something going. I'll have to ask him.

looking forward to the next video, was thinking about making an automated watering system for my garden with one of these but haven't taken the leap yet.

It took me a long time as well. The video tutorials I listed in the description is what really got me started.

This to great to believe, I am speechless. I too have watched Paul McWarders videos, he had two different series on Arduino. One you had to have a cut of hot coffee then the next one you had to have an iced tea, 🙂 These series are, as you say great for someone like me. (I am totally illiterate in electronics - but still want to do it) This is something that I am more than interested in and will be very grateful to you if you choose to do what you say. I am going to go ahead and order the items you have links to such that we are ready here to follow along with you. Well, my wife is mowing the lawn already and only 3 weeks out, what a great lady. On the window project, I know exactly what you mean about that it seems like you are living in a new house. We noticed how much the traffic noise went away. And in addition to the energy thing there is another big advantage. Just after we put the new windows in we had an awful wind and hailstorm. It took the siding all off of the west side of the house. And it broke all the windows out on that side too. But only the outer pane of glass. No dirt and debris got into the house because all the inside pains were intact. The salesman said that was common because the broken pane on the outside is enough to slow the hail down and not break the inside one. So, we got all new upper and lower sashes again. That was very easy each window had a serial number and he just got that and new sashes came and fit perfectly. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for the video and all the effort you put into them.

We've had a couple of storms with large hail since we put them in. No damage yet but I was way more worried than with the old one. I'm glad your situation worked out well!

It's really funny that you had already watched the McWarder videos.

    Very CooL and very inexpensive.

Good idea on the envelopes for the resistors. The taped storage drives me nuts. and the 1/8w combined with the poor color of the coding rings is frustrating and I always wind up measuring the values anyway. Been avoiding buying a bunch of storage for this stuff.

My electronics stuff is in a mess. Hard to find things. I need to bite the bullet and dedicate a couple of days to get it organized.
