You bring a kind of delicate tone that the original singer seemed to try to do but had ended up sounding (in the original) more like a a quiet mental breakdown. Your version comes across with a more potent use of lyrical dissonance because of the intentional mismatch between dark lyrics and gentle lullaby-like tone. Very well done!
i love this song so much. i have like, no experience with abusive relationships, but i can spot authenticity, great lyrics and an awesome, devastatingly sad sounding feel when i see it. hospice is one of the best albums ive ever heard. Its just damn good music. bravo for this cover!
