I feel your pain on the moving part…. I’ve done that several times in the last few years thinking an area was better than where I was only to find if I would of just parked my ass on a log the other hunters probably would have pushed everything to me…. But it’s a tuff call sometimes.
Archers here opens August 25th and rifle opens Sept 17th, I’m off camping on zipperlip creek for the last few days of archery and the first 6 days of rifle unless I get called in to guide archery moose for a friend…. Either way it’ll be a beautiful fall up here.

I really needed a change in scenery. It's like, I've hunted that spot so many times, I "knew" how the rest of the weekend would go if i stayed there. Reality is, something may have come in on Monday morning. It was eye opening just the same, checking out other areas. Impression I have is everyone has their spots they go to, setting up an ambush. Of all the ways to hunt, it's my least favorite, but most often used style. I'd rather run and gun or still hunt, but that's not your best chances of success where archery is concerned.
