      I am more than impressed. This one has a Sony camera on it so that is a pretty good reason that it looks as good as it does. Remember this is is transcoded and recompressed video and then RUclips processed it on top of that. I make make another video to show off the difference in quality between the 3 drones. I did one to compare the Deerc and Holystone I may do one to compare all 3 and put the night shots on from this one because it works great in the dark. One thing for sure I'll be talking this one traveling to get some nice pictures.

      Its all by jack waldenmaier, musicbakery.com. Royalty free. First track is called "Flying High" probably not something I would recommend. I wouldn't recommend driving high either. Not that I would know anything about that. That track very well could be the same as it's a production track and they could have licensed it.

    what's highest altitude you went?

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  12 дней назад

      I took it to 120 m. That is what I have it set to as maximum height. These drones that require a transponder transmit their altitude as well as their GPS location as well as the GPS location of the pilot. So fly too high or into restricted air space such as over a crowd or stadium or near airports, military base ect they know who you are and where you are. So don't break the rules. Can it go higher, I'm sure it can but why risk. A RUclipsr "fucked around and found out" the hard way when the FAA fined him $180k for flying too high and posting his video. So the moral to this story is don't do it. Even if you think you got away your drone had a black box inside that logs every flight that can be recovered and replayed. I tore down a broken drone and found a 4 gig micro sd card in it with all the flight data it ever flew till it crashed. If you pull the card it won't fly. So if you have that specular footage that you shot from an altitude higher than permitted don't post it on line.

  • @NMY556L
    @NMY556L 14 дней назад +1

    Quality video as usual …. Really enjoyed this!
    I think you should really consider investing some time in working on your drone skills as it could be a good way for you to get lots of views on RUclips.
    Given your technical background you could even probably make a bit of income from flying drones as a sideline, especially, now you can fly up-to 25 kilos?
    Who thinks Dave should spin up a second channel just for drone content (reviews, tests, aerial footage etc.)?
    Great work!

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  14 дней назад +1

      My drone skills are fine. This was an evaluation of the drone. The long pauses and back and forth operation was intentional to evaluate how the transition between direction changes is. When I first edited it and uploaded last week I had removed all the stull shots and it was a smooth dissolve between moving shots however due to a bullshit copyright claim that didn't get released and was on hold for 30 days so I went back to change the last song and decided to lengthen the video and leave the evaluation shots in. If you compare to the other one where it tilts every time the direction is changed. I could edit those out and nobody would know. So I figured I would leave the direction changes in to show off exactly how good this one really is. It is absolutely butter smooth. I flew it at different speeds for the same evaluation reasons so when I take this out for commercial shoots I will know what to expect.

    • @NMY556L
      @NMY556L 14 дней назад

      @@12voltvids You've got lots of skills and knowledge which most (including me) can only dream of having. Content is content and you produce a load of it. Editing video takes ages, especially when you have to transcode the raw footage first as your software wont accept it . Hats off for doing all you do.
      My only experience of media production is in broadcast audio. This was difficult enough, especially when dealing the groups of volunteer reporters on a community radio station where I was a volunteer news producer (and a picky one at that!)

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  14 дней назад +1

      @NMY556L the transcoding is nothing. I drag the files into wonderful and set the output format and press go. Takes a few hours to convert all the files. Then I just drag to the editor and output. I was originally going to do this as a short video but figured that the trolls would say the drone wasn't as good as their DJI because the stabilization wasn't as good and I covered it up by editing. So I went back and put the static shots and the start and end of motion, and direction changes ect in to show that it does stack up well against a dji. Do dji make great drones? Yes they do and you pay the price. A dji for example has a screen that shows you the video. And has things like front collision avoidance. You pay the price. Does it have a better picture? The pro might but I would have to convert anyway so any quality gains would be lost. If you are shooting for television or movies and the director requires 10 bit video that might me an issue but if the budget is that high you are using a large drone carrying a large professional camera anyway. This one is bigger then the toy drones, flys higher (if you allow it) and produces rock steady images, and the moves are butter smooth. At a cost of about half a dji but then again you don't get a screen. You have to use the screen you cary in your pocket (phone)

      @12voltvids great stuff. Whatever you do, someone will have something negative to say ... ignore them and keep making your content your way. If someone thinks they can do better, then good for them. You can only work with the skills, tools, and budget that you have.

    • @douglashoff95

      In the US any above 250 grams require a license with the FAA.

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  14 дней назад +2

      This one does and I have it. Had to write an exam before I could fly. This is 600 grams so it's still considered a small drone but over the 249 gram limit. I have 2 micro drones too but this one shoots a superior picture and it is just so smooth. The moves I was putting it through was to test the stability in moves, turns lateral moves, ascending descending ect.the

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  14 дней назад +1

      Same rules here. 250 grams to 25KG requires registration with Nav Canada and a remote aircraft pilots license. Registration and the license costs 15 bucks for the entry level license exam. Have to have the reg number on the drone.

    • @terrylockwood9176
      @terrylockwood9176 14 дней назад

      It's not a license in the US. If it's above 250, it has to be registered with the FAA. And it also has to have RID, either built in
      or an RID module added.
      I'm sure there are other regulations on the way.

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  14 дней назад +1

      @terrylockwood9176 same here. Rid module is built in and I had to register it but in addition nav/transport canada requires every person that operates a drone 250 grams to 25KG to pass a written exam to show competence in the regulations regarding operation. The penalties for flying in restricted airspace can be substantial. For example flying anywhere near where there are wildfires and firefighting aircraft are working can trigger a massive fine. This is to prevent what happened in LA where someone flew a drone and hit a water bomber damaging the wing. Its stunts like that, that lead to regulation tightening and enforcement.

    Great video, Dave !, you definitely live in a very nice area of Canada!, unfortunately, here in Southern California, the mansions are all burned out rubble from the fires and strong winds in Los Angeles!, fortunately, I live over 80 miles away from the fire ares, and my community is very nice, mostly rural and some farmland!

      @@12voltvids I would argue that any uncontrolled fire in a municipality area is bad. Everything is mostly dry, streets are usually narrow, so the flame jumps from one area to another very easily. A few days ago someone accidentally toppled a gas heating lamp in the restaurant in Most (town in north-west Bohemia). A small-area intense fire, six dead, nore probably to come (I hope not).

      It's a joke. Locals will get it. Referring to the high price if realestate in this market. My home was just assessed at just slightly under 2 million. That would be what i would be able to sell for because the assessment is based on what other homes that you see in this video have sold for in the past year. Many sell and move to a cheaper location and pocket the difference. Since it's a very desirable area that also helps push the cost into mansion territory. At least 6 places shown in the pictures here have home elevators in them. That's pretty much standard now on all new builds
