    Good grief - I saw this the next night in Berlin. And two nights later in The Hague. Formative experience.

      Saw him in New York that tour. Incredible. His vocal range was astounding. I left very happy.

    "I'm old Mr. Pocket...but you're older"
    Watch his other brilliance in the wonderfull Cohen brothers movie; The ballad of Buster Scrugs. Tom Waits is one of a kind.

      Are you pretending to love, well I hear that it pays wells
      Or my personal favorite
      How do your pistol and your bible and your sleeping pills go? Are you still jumping out of windows in expensive clothes?
      Such beautiful lines and amazing performance here. I always loved the original recording but it feels so sloppy compared to this live recording.

      looking4musics It's to be found on the bootleg CD of this gig, I don't know who recorded it, but it's probably a soundboard recording.

      His voice is incredible. There's more truth in that voice than most people can even hear anymore. It's their loss. We are blessed to have had him.

      @bruh-si8id 2 года назад +1

      There's nothing wrong with his voice. He's using a very specific vocal technique to create this sound with his voice.

    • @papapoodo6685
      @papapoodo6685 2 года назад

      @@bruh-si8id What?! Why would one purposely choose to sound like their vocal chords had been severely injured in an accident? That is bizarre

    • @jan_Travis
      @jan_Travis 2 года назад

      @@papapoodo6685 I think it gives his music a certain emotional strain to it, like the vocals are to resemble the pain of the character in the lyrics.
