Hi, I'm from Granada and I would like to say something that tourists usually don't think about. It's true that Granada's center and The Alhambra are beautiful, but there are also a lot of small villages near the city center that are always forgotten like Vegas del Genil. Using this one as an example, there are amazing views and peace. You can easily go for a walk while listening to music and take a look of the river, fields a lot of more things ^^
Walking up the river walk from the city center to Pinos Genil is also amazing. Granada also has a lot of hills and mountains next to the city center for those who like hiking or trail running. Nothing compares a nice run/walk surrounded by nature only to end up watching the sunset over the Alhambra and City center (Silla del moro or San Miguel alto are good options) and then just walk down to the city for a few beers with our popular free tapas.
I was totally mesmerized by the visuals in this video: the super atmospheric narrow alleyways, the steep topography, the beautifully clear skies, the architecture, the exotic vibe, the staggering panoramic drone views, the snow-capped Sierra Nevada, everything is just so alluring. Especially in winter, I can only imagine the coziness of the place, tucking into a little tea house to sample some Moroccan tea! Just lovely. And of course, the Alhambra itself is a rare once-in-a-lifetime treat. Staring into those infinitely intricate carved ceilings in the Nasrid Palaces is what I imagine staring into the face of God would be like. Absolutely hypnotic! This part of Spain is truly one of my target destinations for next year. Thank you for taking us along. This was an awesome and very intimate look at a most beautiful city and Unesco World Heritage site.
Wow! Josh you certainly have a way with words! Maybe you should write the description to our videos next time. Thanks for spending your time on us! Hope you have a great holiday season!
hola victor, how much is it for 1 bedroom rent in granada city? do you know of any websites to look for 1 bedroom for this winter? (november 2022 - May 2023) por favor :)
Granada is a beautiful city and the Alhambra is nothing short of a world treasure. Anyone going to the Andalucia must put this on their "must see" list. We also had Moroccan food (and a few other meals of Arabic food) in Granada and Malaga -- wonderful flavors. I just found your videos and have enjoyed your Spain series. Great job.
My wife and I returned from Granada just yesterday. Yes, the Alhambra is big and beautiful and is steeped in more history than can be explored in a few minute video. I'm in my 70's, and you should have mentioned that the hike uphill to the scenic spot that's on an even plane with the Alhambra will be quite the arduous hike. Because Granada is such an old city, you could have mentioned that the streets are literally hundreds of years old and are of cobblestone. Even the sidewalks are cobblestone. I saw people trying to push others in wheelchairs in attempting to get around, and it was problematic at best. We even ate at the Riviera.
WOW it's insane to come across this video. I'm from Granada and you described the city perfectly. You two are so happy and it's pleasant to see you enjoy the city. Hope you had a nice stay :)
Granada is beautiful! Alambra is truly amazing, I agree. Beautiful mosaics, gardens, carvings; I loved it! Your videos are so beautiful and you capture the light, the amazing views wherever you are!
OMG! This place is amazing and the DRONE shots are too much!!!! What a perfect place to fly the drone! I can't believe that it was allowed! I'm so happy that y'all got to see this place! Can't wait to see the last city! Safe travels!
Another great video! I lived in Granada for most of a year one once as an exchange student, one of the best times of my life. C/Aljibe de Trillo 37, Albaicin, - una direccion que quedara grabada en mi mente para siempre! Saludos cordiales
Hi, I'm from Granada, I recommend you go skiing to Sierra Nevada and if you are mountain experts, make an expedition to El Veleta or El Mulhacen, which are the two highest mountains in Sierra Nevada. If you notice an earthquake do not panic, the area is full of seismic faults and there are earthquakes very often. Enjoy the city.
Beautiful sites as usual, food looks amazing. Thanks for the tour, love towns like that. Can’t wait to see where your going next, stay safe have fun 😊🌺
When I was in Granada it was 40°C , I was melting but it was still so beautiful. This looks like a much better time to visit then during the summer months 😅
Glad you guys had a great time. I had a great time as well there. It made me a bit sad as I remembered all the good times with my Spanish ex. Have fun guys!
Thank you both for such a beautiful video. The views and pics you take are so amazing. Along with the history of the buildings. I feel like I’m there. Really loved your food plates you had They all look amazing and delicious. I’m like you Claire when I can’t eat all my food , I have my husband. You two are always so funny and such a perfect couple 💕🥰 Safe travels and can’t wait for your next video❤️
I never been to Granada and it looks beautiful with the snowed mountains peaks. So many beautiful cities in Spain ❤️. If you ever make it to Italy, there is aperitivo time 4-7pm and you get a free appetizer with your drinks ( some give you small appetizers but some more).
Peace be upon you. I am an Arab and a Muslim, and my ancestors are descendants of this history. I feel very proud to be an Arab Muslim, and I am very happy to see people enjoying and astonished to see my Arab and Islamic history.📖👍
You made it to Granada! Wow 🤩 amazing top notch video. 👍👍 And what beautiful drone shots. Couple episodes ago I was suggest to goto Alhambra Fortress (due to Korean Drama, the memories of Alhambra). Your video is better than the drama and A lots scene reminds me the drama. This city is so beautiful, snow capped and craftsmanship is amazing. Thanks so much for being us along to your great adventure. It’s simply spectacular! After watching your video I want to goto Granada someday. Your free water scenes at the water fountain crack me up (btw you two). Chad has a huge blue bottle. And $15 euro for dinner is amazing. Can’t wait for your next video. Stay safe and healthy.
We still want to watch the Korean Drama. It sounds so interesting! Free water is the best water! haha well kinda. Excited to share our final Spain video with you! Congrats on the growth of your channel!
Thanks for sharing another great video! I must visit the Alhambra one day🤞🏼. With only one city left to visit I am guessing either Sevilla or Cordoba. I have been to both, but it has been about five years so I am excited to see your next video. It must be difficult deciding on just one… Do you go to Sevilla and see Alczar, Plaza España and Flamenco dancing, or Cordoba and it’s World Heritage sites. I would love to see and hear your take on La Mezquita. SAFE TRAVELS!
Dear Chad and Claire, thank you so much for your video! It is terrific. I like the picture at 12:28. Can you advise me the location of the viewpoint to photograph Alhambra? We will visit Granada in this December. Zong from Houston Texas
No such thing as "Spanish food". It's more like "regional Food" depending on where you are. Spanish cuisine is so varied that one can't label any dish as the official staple of Spain. OK, perhaps Paella and Tapas would be the more recognized fare for visitors, but the cuisine of Spain is second to none in terms of taste, ingredients, and the many styles to choose from. Exploring these differences is an adventure in itself.!
The visit of Alhambra is worth it. I went to Alhambra summer 2021. The personal didn't seem regarding at the size of your camera bag! I had to buy a smaller camera bag before going to Spain because of Alhambra's policies! Lucky you :)
Hiii, I am living in Granada right now and falling in love little by little with the city. If you ever come back to Spain you should go to Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz) it is where i was born and i think you would love my little town !
Despite the its Moorish roots, Granada isn’t exactly Little Morocco. The Moroccan market (Alcaiceria) caters exclusively to tourists. Also, the gardens at the Alhambra are not at their best during the winter months and city can get very cold due to the higher elevation. Some significant but overlooked sights are the San Juan de Dios Basilica, the San Jeronimo Royal Monastery and the Cartuja Monastery. The Albaicin area is overrated in my opinion.
This fruit that you sign it's called on Spanish "madroño"(strawberry tree) . If you remember the coat of goals of Madrid it's a bear holding a strawberry tree.
Hey Guys, stumbled upon your vlog while doing research for an upcoming (COVID willing) Mediterranean trip which includes Spain and some recon for early retirement. I currently have my eye on the Iberian pen and Italy for possible retirement locations so while I was watching A Place In the Sun real estate videos for these locations your vlogs popped up. It could be the geographer in me but since you two are and will be crisscrossing the globe it would be super helpful if a map was included in the beginning of your segment when you mention where you've arrived or where you're going next, etc. This way we can see where you came from and where you're going next to orient ourselves. A little geographic education is helpful for everyone in this humble Geographers opinion. I always need to know where a place is located. As soon as I hear of a destination, if I don't know the location - immediate Google Earth. Even if I do know the location I still want to see what duration of a trip it would be between the two points. Anyway, just a suggestion. Well done on your vlogs thus far.
Thank you for such an informative video! My soon to be wife and I will be visiting this august/September. I booked the flights and then noticed the drown restrictions. I noticed you had some footage in the beginning. Is it possible to fly in these urban areas? If so what did you have to do to get the access? Or even if you just winged it, let me know haha
It's tough to say! We find we have gotten better the more we have done it. Checking airbnb reviews helps, and using google maps to figure out walking distance beforehand is also helpful. Booking early gives you more options!
The fountain in the Court of the Lions used to be a drinking fountain, and the legend was that if you drank from the fountain, you would return to Granada. I like your history chats!
Por favor, si podéis hacer los videos traducidos, ganareis más adeptos, y me alegro que lo paséis bien en mi pais, tratarnos a los españoles en vuestros países como os tratamos aqui, un abrazo desde cordoba
We hope to make an updated video on this soon, but we make money from youtube, patreon, and our online shop. Our entire trip began just by using Claire's savings which was made from working for 6+ years as a waitress. We also sold 85% of our belongings as well. We also book our trips well in advance to save on money. Hope this helps, reach out anytime with more questions!

vegas del genil¿¿ Santa fe is a historical city where the Kings fought against muslims. In Santafe you can see the cathedral and the 4 gates

Just a detail about pronunciation. In Spanish the H is silent, always. So erase the H in Alhambra and say Alambra. ;)
Wellcome again if both decide returnet!
When you book airbnb’s how do you balance price, location and convenience?

The fountain in the Court of the Lions used to be a drinking fountain, and the legend was that if you drank from the fountain, you would return to Granada. I like your history chats!
Hope the legend is true! :D
Another fun video! Don't forget to show us the Christmas ornament, did I miss the one from Portugal?
We showed our portugal ornament in the Sintra video I believe, towards the end. We will show our Spain ornament in the next video!
What are the names of the first two restaurants please? Thanks!
Tajine Elvira and Bodegas Castañeda

That lunch for two at the beginning will get you a sandwich and a coke here in CA and them they will ask for 20% tip on a Square App.
they are not Moroccan markets, they are Arab influences from 1000 years before Morocco existed. :( please a little information before saying that....
I loved Granada especially Al-Hambra but I think Seville is more beautiful and Cordoba was good too
Still can't believe Claire is cheating on Chad with Stefano🙄
Al-Andalus was not Moroccan, it never was, in fact Morocco did not exist at that time, Al-Andalus was an Arab colony *, like all the other territories in the southern Mediterranean coast from Spain to Arabia.

It never truly was Arab it did have Arab rulers but most who settled there were Berber then Almoravid changed the dynamic
What did you use as data? Did you buy a chip? What company? How much?
