For Glory Noobs are not the place to look to find skill with *any* character. Go to an actual tournament or watch competitive play online and you'll see what's up. To see some more sick Link play, I recommend searching up a player by the username of Izaw. He inspired the way I play Link in Sm4sh.

TheWip9 I said that out loud in Splatoon once. I was playing Rainmaker mode, and three people on the other team were all huddled up in one spot, all facing the Rainmaker's shield and firing at it while two or three of my teammates were on the other side shooting at the same time. So I swam around right behind them and started shooting at them. I thought after I splatted the first one, the other two would turn around and start shooting at me...but they didn't. So I splatted another one. And the last guy STILL didn't turn around to try and shoot me, so I splatted him, too. I was astounded. I wasn't using a sneaky weapon like an E-Liter a Carbon Roller. I wasn't even far away! I was RIGHT behind them with my trusty Splattershot Pro, and they just let it happen. XD

It might not be hard, but it's unexpected, which makes it hard because the window to tech isn't the biggest, and you usually don't see it coming.
It's hard at first because you only have a 20 frame time window to tech and some moves have weird knockback

This is probably my favorite 101 video thus far. Whereas the early ones were all about FG players making mistakes and the Lucas/Kirby ones were mostly Alpha's skill as a player, Link 101 was a nice balance of both.

shadowrobot Well if you think about it there's an advantage to use L to shield and tech more than using R, Because Z is just above R(On the Gamecube Controller) so if you use your left index(L) to shield and your right index(Z) to grab, it's better than using just one index for both shielding and grabbing.

That thumbnail is a lie. Link is left-handed.
Link is actually right handed in the Wii version of twilight princess because of how the controls were set up and how most people used the Wii remote with their right hand. So I'm assuming the model is based off of twilight princess or I could just be completely wrong who knows.
TP Link is still left-handed in the GameCube version and Smash. Also yeah. Skyward Sword Link is also right-handed.
But all other incarnations are left-handed, and that's what matters.

Teching isn't that easy ALPHARAD IT'S NOT Like iT's eAsy to just PRess 1 button that does it 4 you that requiRes very littlE timing OR evn skill...
Seriously though, once you get the hang of it teching's fairly easy.
The problem most people have with teching is that they don't consider it as an option until it's too late, usually cause they think they're not going to end up in that scenario. But if you are just a little observant, you will be able to tell from your position and the position of the enemy, if you need to be ready to tech.
Most of the time people get in that scenario and after they die they think "Man I shoulda teched"
I'm constantly becoming a swaggier player so I learned it just takes practice.

+Daulton Rivas it's one button...timing shouldn't be the determing variable in this equation. I've pulled it off multiple times just by spamming it after I get hit
I heard that spamming it before reaching the point where you tech makes it so you have to wait a few frames to do it again, but if you get used to just pressing the button in that scenario, then you'll learn it over time.

some people started talking about what control setup they use. so. here is mine.
CCP with R set to Special, B set to grab, L set to Shield, and ZL set to jump so i can use the right stick easier for aerials without changing momentum.

I have some weird controls, L and R for jump, Z, Y and Z for grab, A for attack and B for special move. Don't judge it just feels natural. And no I don't shield
It's safe to say that Alpharad and Zero are safely the best smash 4 players. Zero being the best competitively while Alpharad being the best mindblowingly and amazingly by wrecking 4Glory skrubz.

Contrary to what you may think, it's actually impossible to tech against a wall/ground if you're too close to it (unless it's been patched without me knowing)
To be fair, alpha, at 1:26 teching was impossible. Bowser Jr. can’t tech without his clown car
