The fight between Bourne and Desh is one of the best movie fight scenes of all time in my opinion. When I first saw that scene I was totally blown away with the realism. Brilliant choreography.
That's also what Keanu basically said he likes about playing John Wick as well. He likes to see him suffer and get hurt, get all bruised and bloodied by the end of the movie. He always comes out on top (like Bourne) but we see him take plenty of licks and not always beat everyone invincibly without any mistakes or taking any damage.
I trained in Krav Maga for a few years. I was amazed at how realistic these fight scenes were! They're not completely realistic. Fights don't happen this smoothly in real life and there's still a slight touch of drama and flair that you won't see in a real fight but the techniques are very real. These are my all time favorite fight scenes in movies. I wish they were all like this.
Many people judge the bourne movies for the huge amount of shaky cam but i think i understand why it was used especially in the scenes where bourne fights other agents and not when he fights random dudes. A random field agent is no match for him but the other treadstone agents are a huge threat and that's why those fights are so crazy dramatic and shaky even bourne doesn't have full control in those fights and to show it the shaky cam is used.
Both are well trained deadly assasins. One slight mistake or hesitation means one is bound for termination. It's not only brawn but brains too. Fight coordinator Jeff Imada has done impressive sequence.

The scene where he fights Desh in the Bourne Supremacy is what I would think of as a fair fight. When I first saw it in theaters, I was certain both were going to die and it was the end of the series. my bad, it was Ultimatum.
I don’t believe they can make another movie without diminishing the whole franchise. Maybe they can find a genius writer that can put together a story that’s not just flash. Not sure how you can realistically move the story forward. Man, I sure wish they could though. I enjoyed every one of the installments in the Jason Bourne series, even the one that he wasn’t in.

Director Paul Greengrass was the guy behind the Shaky Cam technique and it's exclusive for Bourne movies, no, it's his style, he wanted to make it look like a documentary like United 93 and Captain Philips, for me it's an interesting camerawork

JB is so excellent vs groups of close combatants. The 1 on 1 fights indicate his opponents are more going all out against an overdog opponent (JB) rather than the complacent overconfidence/ reliance of nearby strength in numbers to back them up.
He assaulted a police officer in good will hunting and was the victim of horrendously violent child abuse. He’s an actor so prolly as soft as a bag of gourmet marshmallows irl.

Damon himself has multiple interviews talking about how he cannot fight a lick in real life, but man this is convincing! And the choreographers got a lot of things right. One which is proving what my combat instructors in Marine Corps used to say "Weapons make you stupid". Or more accurately, "Weapons make you PREDICTABLE". Even Desh, who at one point had Bourne dead to rights until Nicky stepped in made the fatal mistake of becoming dependent upon a weapon. At the point in the fight where both are exhausted and fatigue about to determine the winner, he grabs the blade. This made his angles of attack completely predictable giving Bourne the advantage.
Just noticed after seeing it for the hundredth time. You can hear the solenoid clicking on the airsoft gun the guy breaks through the apartment window with. After he "runs out of ammo" it clicks repeatedly.

Agreed. Always adapting to both his surroundings and opponents really elevates the fight choreography.
Bourne is about as good as they come in terms of H2H combat. Dude's almost untouchable until the 3rd movie where he's not in his prime anymore
Yes, Jason didn’t look at the time that he’s not going to win , but perseverance always prevails
