I never understood why regents exist. You can do exceptionally well throughout the entire year but if you fail one exam you have to retake it.
Where do I begin to explain how / why this happens. One, sometimes, some teachers do not prepare students for the regents exams. They are either not qualified science teachers, or they believe that they don't need to "teach to the test." You might ask yourself, how the heck does an unqualified teacher make it to a classroom. Sometimes schools get desperate and hire a teacher for one thing then tell them, oh you are going to teach something else. That sometime else ends up being a class they never taught. And all they can do is just try their best. This happens all the time, especially during our current teacher shortage. A skillful teacher can balance everything and prepare students for the test while at the same time, they teach students real science for life! Also, teachers are not doing so well after the pandemic. We are stressed with so much non-teaching work students giving us a hard time in class and long hours. We are not getting the support we need at the schools. Teachers are doing everything they can to support their students. While other teachers are just trying to show up to work because they are so stressed. At the end of the day, we don't want to let you down. That's why I am dedicated to making these videos so students can have a fighting chance! But the student has to also meet us halfway and give it a real shot. The way you are doing it right now is by bringing it upon yourself to find these videos and study! @@hopestem33 Thank you for the response, I honestly believe that my algebra 1 teacher didn't prepare me enough for the regents exam. Out of all the questions on a pdf that I practiced on I could only confidently answer half of them. He was also not present half of the school year because of personal issues. While I understand that, he shouldn't have been teaching that year if he was barely going to be present. For biology, my teacher gave us pop quizzes everytime a student acted up in class instead of punishing the individual. He did a good job teaching however I find biology to be complicated for me which is why I never scored a 75 or higher throughout the entire year. I don't think I'm ready but I will still try hard and study to hopefully pass these exams. If I don't I will be forced to retake and ruin my mother's plans for vacation to D.R. which she spent a lot of money buying the tickets for. So she will kill me if I fail the exam which makes me even more stressed about this exam.
@@Jurihan4life I LOVE THIS KIND OF FEEDBACK! and I hope that school officials and other teachers see this response because we do have a choice in our actions. Math is a different beast that I plan to tackle by getting other teachers in board for algebra. All I can tell you is try your best! Keep searching for ways to study. Have you found a good channel for math? A free online tutor for algebra? Wish I can help!
