Oh this brings the memories flooding back thanks Alison. When we boarded Quest in Singapore last ear we were handed a glass of sparkling wine and guided to the Cabaret Lounge where we had a personalised muster briefing. Then, like you we headed to the buffet but we ate our food on the rear patio deck.
Watching your video brought back lots of great memories of sailing on the Pacific Princess & the Tahitian Princess because these were the ships! It was such a sad day in our Princess journey when they sold these ships but it sure would make booking an Azamara cruise feel like going home! That is truly the size of ship that we prefer but we've stuck with Princess for now. I'm looking forward to seeing your final thoughts after spending a week onboard. :-)

Azamara is like when I first start cruising in 1986 however the ship is more elegant. Interested if the Staterooms feel small especially the bathrooms. I like what you said different brands are a different experience. Fewer passengers mean more attentive service for sure!

Thanks Allison, we felt the same way from going from Princess to Oceania. Small ship cruising is a very different and enjoyable experience. the level of service was over the top. Our last cruise was an expedition cruise on Silver Sea to the Arctic. Probably not going back to mass market.
Your current Azamara ship was the former Pacific Princess. Princess sold it to Azamara. You can ask the Captain to confirm that. I have taken the Pacific Princess for the cruise vacation called The Holy Land (more than 12 years ago).
I like the smaller ships as opposed to the newer ships with 3500+ guests. My only experience on a smaller ship was one time on Oceania with around 1200 guests. I enjoyed the size of that sailing, but was disappointed in the entertainment offerings especially in the evenings after dinner. We enjoy the shows (like in Princess Theater), but also like the trivia, watching karaoke, the game shows, catching a comedian or the like. We were bored on Oceania because once the theater show was done, the ship was pretty much dead. I would worry that Azamara might be that or even worse. Also, it will be interesting to see what kind of activities they offer on sea days.

Great video, Azamara Is on my list, but I’m waiting until I retire next year as I want to do a longer cruise. Since the ship is small, do you notice a lot of movement compared to the larger ships? Even Princess’ or Holland America, smaller ships are much larger than the Azamara ships, please wait until the end of the cruise to answer that question. That way you’ll have a few days to observe how the vessel handles the changing sees. Enjoy , have a great trip and look forward to more videos.
Having been on these ships a few times (Tahiti & Med and British Isles) if the seas are high you will definitely feel more motion due to the size of the ship.
I thought the Spanish government had closed that port site and was amking everyone port on the other 10 min south of that one.(the main port for all cruise ships) Also.... I did do the Azamara Quest in 2017.... FYI: Oceania is very much comparable...
I just got off of the Oceania Nautica and except for decor and minor changes it's the same ship. The biggest difference is probably that on Oceania they serve you in the buffet, you do not serve yourself.

It’s a great value oriented premium cruise line ( it has a country club vibe and people from a mass market premium cruise line ( Princess, Holland, celebrity and Cunard) will enjoy it if they like small ships, but I would not recommend it for people who enjoy the contemporary cruise lines ( Carnival, RCCL, NCl and MSC). I have been on them 3 times over the past 15 months. Next you must try the ultra premium ships like Silverseas or Crystal to really experience service! I saw Don on the Sun yesterday for the media and high producing agents from the UK to show off the ship! I was a guest for some of the invitation only shows ( Sam Ryan was featured and the UK people went wild. I had to Google who he was…lol). Will I see you on the Sun on Oct 11 for the non revenue cruise?
I am not a guest of Azamara. I paid for the cruise for Gordon and I and then he couldn’t come at the last minute so I decided to come anyway. I booked it to try something new and see what we think!
