Thanks for reviewing my lyric video! I made those a decade ago when I was in college and avoiding doing my essays. It’s nice to see people doing reaction videos to them now 😅
Consider giving a listen to "None Shall Pass" and, for some fun, "Kirby"....two of my faves from Aesop. Also check out his associate, Homeboy Sandman. His track "Go Hard" is a banger.
Keep it up, keep reacting. Keep doing what you are doing, dont stop. After time it will build, people believe in you. From the time of this post at minimum 3.91k believe in you.
@2:13 "he reminds me of an advanced Hopsin alot of people aint gonna b able to keep up" LMFAO I'v been listening to this track for 20+ years=20,000+ times & stil have unlimited different things i'm have aha moments over from it. I CALL EM AES' HIDDEN TREASURE HUNTS cuz every 3-word phrase i'v had to look into to figure out, i'v found PRICELESS GEMS within. Any word i thought might be just for sake of rhyming, has always turned out to be iLLer than i could'v ever thought! YEAH 100+ MIND-GROWIN/BLOWIN MASTERPIECES ON LOOP is what Aes have given me AKA i reason i will die happy no matter what life throws at me cuz i know as i'm bleeding out i'll be laughin bout one of his lyrics CUZ HE GOT PUNCHLINES & BEST SHIZ TALK OF ALL MC'S TOO! There was a study of # of unique words used by rappers & Aes was winner by a couple thousand unique words used
If you want an OG rapper who took people to school in the 80’s, you gotta hear KRS One. His group Boogie Down Productions came out with the album Criminal Minded in 87. They were flashing their guns on the cover of the album, the first to do so. Soon after the album dropped, DJ Scott La Rock was shot when trying to run interference. KRS One did some soul searching and drastically changed his lifestyle and message to be more positive and educational. He realeased the masterpiece album, “By All Means Necessary” 2 years after Criminal Minded. Check out the track “My Philosophy”
knowledge dropped. nowever i would suggest the track you introduce yourself with is house niggaz. in fact the whole Edutainment album is fiyah. but this is about the king of vocabulary, Aesop Rock
Another great song by Aesop. Keep digging up that good ol' hip hop, great reaction. While others are mesmerizing by the mainstream, the underground keeps evolving.
I GOT SO GIDDY WHEN I SAW U DID THIS REACTION!!! THANK U!!! @5:15 "he's rappin bought stuff that needs to be talked about..." this track is from 2001 & yeah for 10+yrs his songs were Activism Anthems, pleading w/ us all to step up & embrace beauty, humanity! last 5-7 albums have become more narrative/storytelling about kodukushis & marblecake, playing Drums On the Wheel, being a Klutz, Hot Dogs, his cat Kirby, how he plays DRUMS ON THE WHEEL, his album Spirit World Field Guide & on his 2023 album ITS he's spits about drawing pigeons, meeting Mr. T, flowers, drive-thru orders & an aggressive dude breaking into his apt
Aesop is beyond most rappers. He has the largest vocabulary of any rapper to ever do it. Minnesota and Rhymesayers has cultivated some of the most incredible lyricists to ever exist.
Boogie - Aesop Rock is amazing - please check out some of his newer records - his style has evolved and often there’s much more of a narrative. He’s got such a great sense of humor too.
Brother I love that your discovering him. New subscriber. His name is Ace Opp Rock (Aesop Rock) His name is related to Greek Epics like the illyad and the oddesy. Very deep, gotta google some stuff he says, then when you do it gets that much deeper. He is the best rapper I've found in 30 years alive.
@3:29 I'm glad you kinda made that connection because when you get past the tongue twister lyrics, you'll see he's the most real MC out there. He speaks truth, you gotta keep listening.
this is too much for you. you need some tracks that will familiarize you with the territory. someplace like Kansas. not this rocky mountain switchback double entendre riddle. listen to Long Legged Larry and Kirby. his flow is slower and much more 'user friendly'. Hundred Feet Tall is a great story about meeting mr T. By The River is about his relationship with the water and its benefits. then you get into the themed raps that are about what you know. Dorks is a grate diss towards popular rap idols. Rings is about his love of art and how he lost his gift thru abandonment. Shrunk is about going to the therapist. then you can get into some side projects like The Uncluded with Delicate Cycle. once youve graduated, move on to other Rhymesayers alumni. BARCADE is an epic Aesop Rock, MF DOOM (ALL CAPS WHEN YOU SPELL THE MANS NAME) and Slug track.
Yep, Aesop Rock makes nearly the entire mainstream industry, (that includes an awful lot of so called independent artists) look weak, foolish and shallow. Great reaction man! More Aesop Rock, as well as NF! 🩸🗝😎
Have you heard of MF DOOM? He is a legend in his own right. Untouchable, to the point mainstream rappers dont even mention him in a negative light EVER... Yea well Aesop is more lyricly diverse than MF DOOM by a large large amount... This man is a genius among the greatest to ever attempt to do it.
AES isn’t for the faint of heart. The only way he keeps his hooks in is through dope beats. Once you’ve listened 50x, you’ll begin to understand some of the complexity that makes him unlistenable to most people. Follow him down the rabbit hole, Alice
Speaking of poetry with smooth ass flow, I had mentioned “Guidelines” by Aceyalone in another video. Another mention can’t hurt. Help me with a like on that..
Congratulations on discovering Aesop Rock. Enjoy the deep rabbit hole 🙏
The fukn GOAT!!
If Aes not in ya top 5 lyricist don't even talk to me 🐐
Seeing people discover Aes puts a smile on my face. His whole discography got nothing but bangers.
Im respecting you more and more. Aesop Rock is a genius. Ive been listening for years.
Thanks for reviewing my lyric video! I made those a decade ago when I was in college and avoiding doing my essays. It’s nice to see people doing reaction videos to them now 😅

When you realize this is a boss battle of a track.
Consider giving a listen to "None Shall Pass" and, for some fun, "Kirby"....two of my faves from Aesop.
Also check out his associate, Homeboy Sandman. His track "Go Hard" is a banger.
I like the once about the frog. Leaping Larry?
These are good suggestions

To be fair, that's everyone's reaction to Aesop! 😆
"Fumble out of bed and stumble to the kitchen, Pour myself a cup of ambition" if from Dolly Pardon's song "9-5"....so fitting!!

His initial reaction is meme worthy. I must have looked pretty similar when he first blew my mind

Aesop is beyond most rappers. He has the largest vocabulary of any rapper to ever do it. Minnesota and Rhymesayers has cultivated some of the most incredible lyricists to ever exist.
And then you’ve got all the Aesop collabs - Hail Mary Mallon, Alice, Malibu Ken, etc. - welcome!
Boogie - Aesop Rock is amazing - please check out some of his newer records - his style has evolved and often there’s much more of a narrative. He’s got such a great sense of humor too.

You have no idea what you are in for. You have almost over 25 years of music to listen to. Enjoy!!!!!! May I suggest checking out his song Daylight.
w/ Nightlight - back 2 back.
i love that you immediately realized that Aesop walks how Tom MacDonald wishes he did. Aesop spits those authentic and pure wisdom bars
@3:29 I'm glad you kinda made that connection because when you get past the tongue twister lyrics, you'll see he's the most real MC out there. He speaks truth, you gotta keep listening.

For fun check out Aesop's Kirby or Long Legged Larry.
Just what I was going to suggest!
Aesop Rock can be a bit hard to get into, but he has some bangers. I really suggest taking it a little easy and do a reaction to Kirby.
Yeah you're going to have a good time listening through his discography. Check out Black Snow! I dig your reactions they're hekka down to earth.
this was my childhood!
Kodokushi my dude. All the Smartest People. Dorks. Jazz Hands. TV on 10...the Aesop Rock rabbit hole is a whole ass journey...

I agree Tom has nothing on Aes. I'm not sure why I have to say it a second time. 🤔
Tom McDonald is a dunce who gets all his lyrics on Fox News comment sections. Industry plant
W T F 😂
This is the deep end. This is for people willing to study the poetry for meaning while vibing to a smooth ass flow. No casuals here.
@ I’m with it… I was just repeating Boogie’s initial rxn that cracked me up!☮️
Speaking of poetry with smooth ass flow, I had mentioned “Guidelines” by Aceyalone in another video. Another mention can’t hurt. Help me with a like on that..
