- Hello everyone, I've finally finished growing out my pixie cut (it's been a long process!) and so here is a video with all my tips and tricks on how to deal with the growing out stage.

I had two dreams, one was that my hair grew out and the other was it was trimmed. And I was so mad when I woke up to find it was still short “from the longer hair dream” and so sad that my hair was re cut in the second one. I am so thankful for those dreams to really help me decide!
I'm glad u said this. I just got my first pixie and I love it but sometimes I go back and forth between loving it and missing my long hair.

Otherwise, congrats on getting to the bob cut! Hair growth pretty much picks up from there rapidly in my experience

I’m still growing mine it’s been 4 months and my hair is already almost a bob here are my tips
-don’t wash your hair everyday the natural oils in your hair make it grow
- massage your head once a week
-don’t bleach or dye it
-try not to use heat
-use your favorite shampoo not a super strong one and use conditioner
-use hats or beanie during awkward stage

@@isabelleprice1022 😖I got super short pixie with buzzed parts back in May, it's past the ears, just exactly half of my cheek kinda length, very uneven, very awkward 🤦🏼♀️I use teeny tiny clips to make it stay "tucked" behind the ears (it wont stay by itself) also I would sometimes use flat iron to curl it, just when I'm expected to look presentable. Just act like this is what u planned, and really believe it. It will make u feel better and u will end up not taking too much attention to your hair (idk how about everyone else, but when I really am self conscious about something, I end up taking attention to it, by trying too hard)
also, you can just put a bandana on your hair in the awkward stages and only leave your fake bangs to be seen, thats what im doing
i got my hair cut short ... last week? and i'm already planning on growing it out lmaooo. i've had short hair for 5 years now, and i've come close to growing it out twice but each time i give up and cut it off again 😭 but third times the charm.... wish me luck guys

Growing mine out now! Just cut my first mullet off the other day after 3 months growth. Soooo close to a bob I need like my ear section to grow like 2 inches to match my back section 😭😭😭😭

I am growing mine out right now and I agree with all of what you said. So many times I wanted to just cut it off but once I got over my first mullet I realized to embrace the mullet and roll with the awkward. It got easier to handle the awkward in months 3-4 of growing out because I think once your sideburns and hair around your ear grow down it becomes more manageable.

Struggling through the mullet as well right now! I feel like embracing it for a bit until it gets better is the best way for me to grow it out and it's definitely getting better now that it's long enough to tuck behind my ears.
I started growing it out and it lasted for like 3 months but I gave up and cut it so this is my second try😭😋*pray for me*
I cut my hair back in June, I think, and it's gotten a lot longer but it's really uneven. Hopefully by end of summer it'll look ok.🤞

I grew out my pixie cut several years ago, took about ten months to get to a bob. I did love my pixie cut but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to that mainly because of the hassle of growing it out. These are all good tips! I was lucky that it was winter during most of the awkward stages, so I would wear a beanie or beret every day to hide it. Patience and persistence is key!
I've been growing out a pixie cut for almost two years. You have a lot more growth than I do. Great ideas with the wraps! I'm going to invest in a couple. Thanks for a great video. ♡
This is only 10 months? That's amazing! I actually really want my hair to be like yours and I'm so thrilled to grow out my pixie further and further. I'm almost through 2 months of doing so, well, I only decided very recently to grow it out but last time I cut it was 2 months ago, so that's some kind of progress? This is the best explained video ever! Everyone is like 'use vitamins' or 'use these products' and I just want it to grow naturally. Thank you for this video!

OK so this is the video i found your channel with. I think that was my issue the first time i attempted to grow my hair out years ago, I thought ‘ok i’m growing out my hair lets NOT go to the haircutters’ which was probs the biggest mistake i made. The hair growing down my neck drives me nuts, esp since i get my sides and back shaved and that was killing me. But then I saw you and other ppl agreeing to yes, go get it cut so i’m hoping that’ll help me.

I found your video because I'm currently in isolation with an out of control pixie cut! I have been wanting to change my hair for a while, but was too afraid to endure the growing out process - I guess now I have no choice! Headbands and clips are my new best friends. Wish me luck! Almost 7 months of growing my pixie cut, and I'm so proud to say that the process is almost done! I have a bob since month 3/4, but I don't like short bob on me, so I'm waiting til my hair touch my collar bones to let my hair down! It might take around 3 months but I'm currently working on the health of my hair.
Ugh, I'm so happy! Ladies trying to grow out their pixie cut : YOURE GONNA DO THIS ! And time flies really fast! Plus, each month you'll see a difference by taking pictures and it's such a great feeling, i promise !

And good luck with the new growth! ❣️ My hair is actually this colour because I bleached it, then dyed it orange, then died it brown, and now this is the faded result with the grown out roots, but I’m sure a balayage would create the same effect - and probably a lot neater too! 😊

I like all the stages of growing out my pixie... Just enjoy the process my only thing that I did was chop the bottom off and kept doing that Untill the short bob came about with no problem... So yes it takes time but about year,,, I think is about the time for it to look give a long bob l love it now,,,, I can put it up curl. It straighten it half up half down... Yes hair bands helped with the process too..... Just don't get frustrated because that's. Danger you will end up cutting it off again 😱enjoy the ride as in life ❤
i just stumbled upon your video and omg thanks for all the tips!!! my hair is currently just a lil bit over my ears, and my mullet is THRIVING! i might follow your lead and go chop it off! i'm also thinking of an undercut sorta? like maybe it could pass as a very short bob but also may hair is thick and wavy so it could also look absolutely terrible lol

Growing out my pixie now and its very hard but now that its longer and it is a bit wavy, I am starting to feel like this is do-able. Those newsboy caps are wonderful too. **Not sure I am going to do the blunt cut thing people say to do because I actually dont look good in one length at all. My layers are growing out in a fun way so I might be one who doesnt mind the mullet! I am going for a medium length shag so we'll play it by ear. I like the shaggy hair growing out longer on my neck. I had to pixie my hair to cut off 5 yrs of dark red henna that went green after coloring. Now its blonde and short and I am excited to see a new hairstyle grow out.

cut my hair this year on January, cut off mullet about 2 months (March). Then decided to leave the rest grow 😂 supposed to cut mullet every 2 months, but I'm too lazy. Anyway I'm on 6/7 months now, top part of my hair past my ear already and lower awkward part is on shoulder length so.. probably getting bob haircut on December. can't wait! 6 months to go!
In the process of growing out my pixie cut. The front is so bulky and I find pinning it back works well to try and keep it tidy. Not enjoying the growing out process, but this isn’t the first time I’ve cut my hair short, so I know I’ll get there eventually. :)
I know this is old. I cut all my hair off because of a long mullet😓 I got a pixie cut 2/22/19 a day before my b-day but it's taking a while to grow, I've been taking biotin it has helped some and I'm going to start using biotin shampoo and conditioner but I will definitely trim the mullet side when it comes. Never thought about that idea. But I know every time I've gone to a place go get a trim they took too much off. So I'm going with your idea. Hope it helps

when doing inversion method for a week, did you was it everyday? because if i put coconut oil in my hair everyday it would look sooooo greasy and gross :(
I shaved the back of my head buzzcut short early on in my pixie phase so I’m going to end up skipping the mullet and ending up with an asymmetric a line soon enough. The front of my hair is nearly 8inches in the front from the top of the frontal suture line whereas the back is nearly 3.5 inches from the occipital suture line
I got my hair cut to a pixie probably around 6 months ago. Around 2/3 months I got it trimmed. In the moment it's a long pixie. Wish me luck I'm trying to get it to a bob
Tried it once before know its long and frustrating but after a couple of lice treatments my fine hair cant take anymore always very carefull but anyway it falls out so easily tried both chemical and natural treatments had to cut it so its easier to treat when im sure theres no eggs or lice coming back anymore I can finally go to a salon to get it fixed and going there to get my ends done so another time if I get lice and if my hair is long I will not damage it but get a pixie and then treat its easier with fragile hair when its short.......
My hair is cut differently. My hair is long on the top of my head and very short in the back. I have tried rice water. I don't know what to do with my hair.
I spent the entire year of 20/20 growing out a very bad pixie cut. January of this year it was finally to my collar and I couldn't take it anymore. It looked so bad I went and got a pixie again. Now in month 4 of another grow out. At least this time it's growing out from a cute pixie instead of the mess I had to deal with last year. I found some thickening leave in growth oil on Amazon that is actually working AND it doesn't leave my hair greasy or oily and I have naturally fine, oily hair. I also do coconut oil and sleep with it in several nights in a row then use a sulfate free shampoo, but that's literally the only time I use shampoo. Any other time I need to cleanse my hair I use cleansing conditioner made by Renpure.
As for learning how to style this? All I can say is I cannot wait for this to be over (so that I can cut it off and live with the regret again 😂).

I watch these videos to give myself hope to what seems like an endless task of growing out my pixie. I did a sudden chop and regret it.
My hair grows hella fast, I got a pixie cut in October and now it is the end of January and when I straighten my hair it is kind of a bob. I’m also really lucky cause my mullet can blend in with the rest of my hair ;)
I am currently leaving my mullet like look until after my wedding. I will have extensions for the big day so I don’t want to cut any just yet. I shaved it all off in a buzz cut last November
Tips for people who want to re cut it: Try to keep the back a little longer but still even so you don't have to go through the mullet stage. TRUST ME IT WORKS! *I have had a pixie for 5 months and I already have a bob!!*

RainCat237 I did this my sophomore year of high school, and just a little of advice from my own experience: girls were a little bit weird about it. They kept asking me how I could possibly cut my hair, but really I loved that I was able to do something they were scared to! Also, adults really loved it. They treated me like I was more mature, if that makes sense. Good luck with whatever you decide!

In this moment I look like a pineapple. Not really happy about it. So, this week I think about 100 times/day to cut my hair off, again. I hate this stage of growing out my pixie. I will start the massage in this upside-down way you suggested and I hope it will make the difference 😆 !

Shaved my head last February due to awful unhealthy BSL hair, now a year later it’s healthy and natural and not even a bob yet lol. It’s kinda below my ears and near the neck at the back. I need to visit the hair dresser soon.

I love short hair (boycut/pixie and bob) so I wouldn’t really mind growing it out to a bob (since I can’t get a haircut because of quarantine). It just looks awkward without a trim. :,)

not sure what you decided, but cutting it all the same length would look nice.. or cutting the longer section shorter and getting some layers/bangs so its blended more

my determatologist put me on high dose vitamin D, and biotin and to use a lot of coconut oil, i cant wait till it grows more, i wont ever do a pixie again, suzanne here, clips and head bands do help avoid the little old lady cut! while its growing out, gosh i hated layers, so bad, glad its growing out on top first, my hair feel out from stress of my son dying last jan, here we are at sept and the top is growing but not the back, ugh, i am patient i can wait, life is not the same any how, this i can handle

I have decided to grow it out now. I feel I would rather sit my A Levels in a mullet than go to uni and gradually get one. Because once I’m a student I am aware I will be too poor to go to the hairdressers. So I might as well get it grown out in a controlled environment now.
