- Hey Everyone!
I did a planning video which was supposed to come out before this one, but as I went to edit it, the sound was out, so I will re record and share my sheets etc and make it more, how I planned and how it went!
This is my actual trip though, and I'll get the haul edited up for tomorrow too :D

I’m always amazed at your supply runs. My friend worked up North and once a year I’d meet her in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and we’d do a barge run. Once a year a barge drops supplies into remote communities up far North. So she’d get me to meet her in Edmonton then we’d spend a few days buying her yearly supplies. It was such a feat. Then we’d take everything to the shipping company and they’d pack it on a pallet to be drop off months later in the Arctic. After I’d be so exhausted from slopping stuff around for days. Im always impressed watching you because I can relate to how much this is truly a labour of love. ❤
I can't imagine being able to do a years worth of supplies in 1 shop. Definitely not for the faint hearted!
Mum always needs a rest after helping me out lol! I do like that it has become such a constant for me that I know what I need, generally speaking and even when I'm increasing things, it feels like I can see what I need to increase etc without too much angst.
You are getting more comfortable doing the video I am happy to see you grow
I am definitely trying, I do find myself whispering like a dork sometimes lol
❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 wow!!!!! Wonderful momma and wife and daughter!!
Glad you took the time to chat with your Mom. Huge job to pack all your food and travel home but you do it every time. Cheers to Darryl for getting the stove going and re-arranging your kitchen area.
Thanks Nyssa, I really enjoy your videos. You are such a hard working person - what a fantastic effort to get everything done. It's apparent from the comments you receive from your subscribers (all over the world!) that all your content is very much appreciated
New to your channel, first of all I want to say thank you for taking time out of your days to show us living off grid. My dad is 76 and has lived off grid for years and absolutely loves it! It's a healthier cleaner way of living and I always feel refreshed after visiting, more down to earth if you will. I love watching you create meals before you go shopping. You have inspired me to do better and be more creative.
Best wishes from Victoria Australia 😊
CALLING ALL VIEWERS! How about giving Nyssa a “Like”…. I can’t imagine doing all of this-- shopping and driving --AND filming for all of us as well!!! As always I’m exhausted just watching 😴Nice job Nyssa!
Amazing how much work it all is. So glad I only have to do one month at a time and a smaller family.
It's definitely a bit of an ordeal, but at the same time, I just remind myself, its only every 9 weeks!
You are not only a culinary artist/genius, but a logistical wizard….amazing! Your my hero 🦸♀️
Wow, what a few days!! I know you’re tired yet your work is just beginning.
All that public filming!! You’re definitely pushing your comfort level!! Thanks for showing us all the things.
That stove. ❤❤ I have stove envy. 😂
As always..awesome job! I get tired just doing a week and looking for deals. Cant wait to see the haul and the new kitchen in action. 😊
Yay, Darryl. So nice to see the stove ready and the lighting! Thank you.
Thank you. I love your videos. You do a wonderful job with everything you are doing. My granddaughters and I love watching your videos. We are from Kansas in the US. Thanks again 😊
I am just awestruck every time I watch one of these - but this one in particular…fitting all that together I’d be willing to bet that you were an absolute whizz at Jenga & Tetris back in the day..! I just wish there was any way of getting this one out to more people, because if folk saw what you do on the regular to feed your family you’d pick up thousands more subscribers, I’m sure, as this is so very different to the usual type of shopping hauls we see all the time.
I think you could probably manage a large army or government after watching how you mastermind the '"shopping." That's an incredible amount of work and long days buying 8 weeks of food for a large family, buying furniture and making vehicle repairs. I bet your mom loves having you there for a few days and like all moms, helps you as she can. Thanks for sharing, it was enlightening to say the least. I personally may have to go restore a bit after all of that.
9 weeks is a lot of shopping
My favorite parts of the haul are when you tell us about the treats you get every single time and spending time with your mum and having dessert. Makes me so happy to know that you do treat yourself and find time for those little treats that are such a blessing to sneak in!
Love that you did some public filming and yay Darryl for his work too!
I don’t know how the prices are there but groceries are monstrously expensive here and every time I go to shop I want to cry a little! I do a ton of clearance shopping (meats and fruit/veg) and sometimes skim costco for the items that end in .97 or .00 (clearance for Costco). I’ve found many wonderful things to try on mark down at Costco for a fraction of the regular price.
Wow what a busy few days , I bet it feels good to be stocked up again x
Whew! Take a breath, girl, well done! And that Darrell (sp?) - what a guy!!! Puts up lighting and hooks up stove while you're gone, buys you chocolate as a treat - he's such a keeper! 👍
He always asks me what the priorities are while I'm gone and endeavours to get them done for me :D
your amazing learning so much from your channel
Ty for the glimpse. I so love the "squirrels" as you think things through. Sorry you had car troubles but I hope you didn't stress and just enjoyed decompressing.
My goodness I truly don't know how you do it Nyssa, I would be a complete wreck... I hope you mum was well & you enjoyed your time together 😊...
Nessa - I am in awe as always. Fitting all those supplies in your trailer and car. Wow!
You are amazing!!!
I got exhausted just watching the video! Super woman comes to mind!
You are amazing! Still helping out your Mum and doing all that hard work for your family! Great job!
Nyssa, here in the states we actually purposely twists our straps on loads on flatbed semi trailers. It adds some stability so they don't flop.
Your packing skills are amazing!
Thanks dear lady. You never cease to amaze me with your tireless energy for your family. I enjoy your videos so much n look forward to each one as well. Enjoy the weekend & coming week & your family! Can't wait until food prep next! Great job! Take care. ❤️🙏🌹
You are getting brilliant at the shopping filming. Darryl seems like such a good husband. He's definitely got a growing fan base lol. We look forward to his flourish. Ask him if he'll do a thumbs up to his biggest British fan 😂 xx
Hehe, I'm sure he'd be open to that! :D
@@OurSmallFootprint it would make my year xx
Wow!!! You are so organized. Glad your trip was successful.Cindi
That is some shopping haul for the family and your Mum 😊and sharing the logistics of living off grid 👍
You are absolutely amazing!!
first off amazing as usual. second please tell Darryl that i think he did an amazing job on the lighting and the kitchen. third I can't wait to see how many tables and the price break down for everything. Fourth oh my you have so much prep ahead of you i am so looking forward to those videos. five can we get to see more freezer and fridge updates through the 8-10 weeks like I would love to see how it all changes as you prep things and use things. though others may find that part a little boring. but i love fridge, freezer and pantry type tours because i like seeing how what people use changes though the month and year. also have a good rest before you start batch prepping everything. you are amazing.
I purposely remembered to film the fridge and freezer before I left (but that was the video without sound, so I'll still add that in when I redo that video) and I filmed the fridge and freezers after we loaded stuff, but as you say, it changes, we get the most important stuff in now, and then as we get that processed and canned or frozen things rotate in and out!
Love this Nyssa! You work so hard at planning, preparing and executing this supply run. Ide love to see a few suppliers in the area you shop sponsor you and you could give them a shout out 🙏
That first meal from the haul looked amazing ☺️
Love your work ❤
Wowzers! You have your work cut out for you!
It's fantastic to be able to 'go along w you' on your supply run & see the end shopping result, thank you. I watched your last food shop through twice to get me through the 9 weeks 😊 xx
Hehe, 9 weeks is a long time isn't it, but mum and I were discussing as we were packing the car up how much I'm glad its so long between as well lol!
WOW! My back hurts just watching this!!! And, when I saw those dark clouds at Costco, I was just hoping it didn't rain on you while you were packing everything up! You are amazing!!!!
I also loved seeing some of the prices at Costco! Some of your things are way more expensive and some are less!
Nyssa, you did an amazing job in taking us àlong on this trip with you. Hello to your mum too!
You were definitely loaded this trip but you did a fantastic job getting it all sorted and in. I'm sure you were absolutely knackered by the time you went to bed. It's hard with it getting darker quicker here in winter. Stay warm and I look forward to your next haul video. Thanks once again from semi warm logan
I'll add as someone who is preparing to go off grid out near Tara in the near future I am learning so much from you and your videos. Even simple things like working on the home, removal of trees, general life ECT. That's on top of the animals, fruit and veggies planting and of course food. I'm a big believer in having a large excess of stock for pantry and personal supplies so I'm learning heaps from you on how to combat the elements and unwelcome animals. Keep up what you're doing and passing on to us as I love it
Nyssa girl you are amazing doing all that shopping AND packing it up to get it all in the trailer etc 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Well done on getting some filming in as well 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 As always a pleasure to watch see you on your next video ❤❤❤ Love from the UK x
I'm so happy you treat yourself on your grocery shop. Alot of times us moms forget about ourselves.
Those couple of treats make it feel less like work I reckon! heh :D. I also get to spend all that time with mum as well!
Hello an wow I'm exhausted just watching u.... 😂❤🎉 Yeah mama done did it All.😂
Thanks Nyssa, you’re an absolute legend. 🌻
Awesome job. You are such an inspiration. So organized.
Great vid as usual. I had to run and look at my Costco docket to see what time we Costcoed on Saturday. I was there at the same time. Shame I didn't see you. It was funny watching a video of stuff that I'd looked at too. I think I even played with those small blue bowls too. Good luck with the post shopping prep.
Nice grocery haul. Thank you for taking us along with you !!!
So many decisions and course changes!🤪 Go girl!
Amazing work! Im always tired after watching this!! Thank you for doing it and showing us, i just love these videos and find them so interesting!
that a awesome haul , and a rare view of stuff in the shops was great , loved the watch
This was so cool to watch ! You are such a get it done chick and I love that! I can see how much you love your mom 💕
I get exhausted hearing all your plans. Your videos are always worth sharing,
Thank you Marie :)
Love your videos, always look forward to watching.x
PEOPLE...What are you waiting for...SUBSCRIBE!!! Thank you.
My. What a load. At this rate we’ll be seeing you driving a road train to do the shopping lol lol. I saw you got some great looking cabbages and sone eggs. I was thinking only today, while cooking, you could possibly get to have on hand Organ egg replacer for use in baking when eggs are low. I get mine from a gluten free shop or Coles. I started using it when a family member would not eat eggs. I found it pretty good. I hope the electricals on the car is fixed easy enough. How lovely to get home and find the stove was set up for you. 😊
Nyssa I think you are awesome. Love your videos. Love your support runs thank for everything you do.
Thank you Kimberly :)
You are wonderful at getting all your supplies and any extra things. I bet its exhausting, but its great you getto spend time with your mom.❤
Nice job. Freezers packed full!!
I am exhausted just watching your shopping trip. Great job filming. I love seeing the different items at all the stores. It’s fun seeing things at COSTCO that are almost packaged the same here in the states vs the different packaging of some items. We don’t have the large bags of spices, ours are in plastic containers. And seeing the difference in pricing too. I will say Nysa, you and your mum are the queens of packing the trailer and Ute.
Amazing grocery haul and shop as always. Got to say I'm impressed with how you load up the ute and trailer to get everything home. Looking forward to your next videos showing all your groceries and hiw you process them
Enjoyed your hectic haul! Your kitchen is starting to look good, as I've noticed over the last few weeks changes taking place! Hope you have a little rest before you start cooking up your haul. Cooker looks good. x
Wow Nyssa I don’t know how you do this all , super proud of you .
What an epic shopping trip . You are incredibly good at organising and packing. That steel trolley looks so sturdy and practical. I hope the desks worked out great. You earned every treat you get and more , thats hard yakka . ❤❤
Another great video x
Those prices are crazy!!!! I can’t imagine what all that cost you. Wow!
It was an expensive trip!
Loved this video. It gave us a peek into all of the work, and struggles that go into these long supply runs, as well as the incredible deals you get.😊
My favorite , you really know how to amaze me doing all you do. I think we all take for granted the struggles some have . You’re a real inspiration, I hope you get some much needed rest the next few days . I have nothing to complain about .❤️
Amazing job. Hope the dashboard lights aren’t a major repair.
Hi nyssa, Great video love watching these !all you do I really enjoy. I bet your shattered,it is a very exhausting time for you. It must be lovely to get back to your lovely homestead away from the hustle and bustle of the towns. Take care love Marilyn.x
Wow, I am tired just watching you do so much hard work! Great job.😄
Oh i like those kmart freezer trays!
Ooh love the shopping videos, you will be needing another trailer before long you will be like a train😂 look forward to the next video❤❤
Heh, we just need to get the sides done on the trailer, then I can stack much more stuff on there without worrying about how I'm keeping it in place! :D
Thankyou...I've been waiting for this video...wasn't the weather just divine
It rained a bit on the way home! but it was very pleasant
My goodness! Your energy is amazing. I'm worn out just watching you shop!
Excellent video!
This was such a great video. It really showed your shopping process and what you go through to ensure you have all the supplies you need for your six, eight, nine week stretch. I’m looking forward to the haul video so I can see exactly what you got. Well done.
I don't see how you do it all..when I shopped for a small family it was exhausting
Well done & thank you for all the filming in the shops 🌸
You are amazing Nyssa. Wow ❤
WOW massive haul and trip this time...l was going to say will be interested to hear your assessment of stretching it out to 9 weeks run to see the pros and cons but with the desks and trolley and new esky this time it wasnt a "normal" shop so to speak...glad it all worked out but Phew ..even l need a lie down after that one 😂
Hehe, yeah, there's always 'something' additional I find with each trip, cheap / free lol.... and I think realistically, even if there weren't 'extras' the 9 weeks is more than I can fit in the car without the trailer.
That’s so much work, but worth it for only needing to go every couple of months!
Yeah, I agree, I could go more often, but it would end up costing more, extra petrol and you just buy more when you go regularly, I don't know why, but when I was swapping over to longer stretches it was obvious! But I get through that last push knowing that it will be 8/9 weeks till I go back again!
Amazing how u manage to haul and pack all of this by yourself
That was impressive and you stay so calm.
I know I would forget to get a lot of things. I would have to have a few lists, one in my purse,on my phone,in my back pocket, just not my mind lol
You do an awesome job Nessa to make sure your family has all they need and that's all any of us as parents are trying to do.
Thanks for sharing your grocery shopping hauls with us.❤❤
You will be happy to use your new stove and have a real oven I take my hat off to you for your organisational skills Take Care D
Its definitely going to be different! hopefully it improves my ability to batch cook!
I find it hard enough to shop for two of us for a week never mind for 8 every 9 weeks!! That said we were a family of 5 until they all grew up! It took me a while to get the portions and shopping right as they left home. Great video and brilliant getting those desk tops free. X
Wow, how much was all that, you deserve award great mom.love all your videos. I would like to be doing that one day, please share some tips ❤
It was definitely costly! I will put the actual figures up with the haul in the next video, I'm still collating receipts and working it out as I piece the video lol. Then I'll do a video after that which is my planning and thought processes, I was supposed to put it out before this one but I went to edit it and the sound was out :S. So I need to do it again!
@@OurSmallFootprint no worries.take a rest. You have done amazing work 👏👏👏👏
Wow you are such a hard worker and packing everything wow it amazes me such a fantastic job 👏 👌
You are one hard working person!!!
Yay...stoves up and running...can't wait to see you cooking on it 😊
You amaze me with your shopping hauls.
I'm just in aw of how hard you work for your family you do an amazing job 🥰🌹
Same here on the waiting!!! It’s 3:14 am central time and I just happen to wake up. Gotta watch!! 🤗
I don't know how you do it. I'm exhausted just watching
Wow!!
I’m exhausted just watching this video…I can ONLY IMAGINE how you must feel doing this shopping. I wish you were able to take one of your kids along for the help and company for the ride. You AMAZE me!! ❤ watching your videos 🤗!!!
Can't wait to see your grocery haul 💯
❤❤❤❤
KMart containers look good.
Just a thought… could you use that fabric African “slow cooker” thingy 😂 (can’t remember its name) to help with your proofing as it gets colder? Thanks for another great video. Great job on organizing and great haul on the desktops!!
the bag cookers and straw boxes don't work for proofing because the way they work is you get you stew or meat dish up to a rolling boil on a stove then you put it in the bag or box to insulate it and keep the heat in while it then continues cooking from the residual heat. basically they insulate the pot so that it takes 6-10 hours to come down from a rolling boil temp to a safe eating temp and most thing will continue to cook until they get down to ambient temp. honestly the science behind that slow cook bags and hey boxes are absolutely amazing especially when you relize that they have been safely used in kitchens for hundreds of years long before humans truely understood food safety and the danger zone for bacterial growth. but basically since you don't heat up dough that much it won't work for proofing. in order to get it to a temp to stay at proofing temps you would have to heat the dough too much and it would kill the yeast. they also work well for keeping things cold but not safe to keep like most food cold just like to keep a drink cold for a few hours while working in the summer.
@@craftedbykittens Thank you! I did see Nyssa bring a dish up to the boil before using the bag in a previous video. My yeast doughs do let off heat themselves and they rise better when covered, so I thought the heat generated by the proofing/rising itself might be captured by the bag and be sufficient over the few coldest hours of winter night to make it work.
It would be so nice if you could have the additional day with each supply run. Time to catch your breath and relax a little, especially since you are buying more for the longer time between runs.
I was supposed to go down on Tuesday instead of wednesday this month which would have given me an extra day (and not battling costco on a saturday) but D got held up at Synod and had to stay another night, so the way we crossed over didn't make it possible :)
Great video Nyssa
Nyssa hit the dash if the dash lights come on its the switch that needs replacing. Great video
Definitely tried that lol, swapped the fuses, gave it a good bash etc. The dimmer switch feels loose too.... but I dunno if its always been a loose spin and only because they're not working am I more aware.... if that makes sense.
