Golden Ticket or bust | Canyons 100k | Western States 100 Qualifier

- Jenny Signed up to run the Canyons 100k to chase a Golden Ticket to Western States 100.
There are 7 races in the golden ticket series in which the top 2 Males & Females of each race will be awarded a Golden Ticket entry into the highly sought after Western States 100 mile Ultra Marathon.
Without a Golden ticket there is a Lottery that eligible racers can enter using points acquired from other qualifying trail races. This approach however can take multiple years of continued racing to maintain and gain points, for more lottery entries. This in turn makes the Golden Ticket approach for elite runners very enticing.

For the Canyons 100k We decided to drive down to California to spend three and a half weeks training on the course in preparation for the race.

Thanks! I would have like to get more race footage aswell, this one was a bit harder with only 3 aid stations and a dog on my side haha.
Loved the format. I think what you said about having a B goal in a race if it goes a little south in genius. Having that extra push to work toward something always puts you in a better state of mind. Thanks for sharing and great job!

How were those climbs around Devil's Thumb and Deadwood compared to something like Flood Mtn and Mount Hamell? The trail looks less technical but, ouch, the last 30k looks tough!
Hey wayne! Way less technical and shorter than Hammel but rough as they're partially runnable. Those sections aren't in the course this year due to snow. - Jenny
