Like mine, bottom of the engine is A50 with 650 top end, frame, swing arm and rear wheel is 67, front is 69 but mostly build up from new parts, carbs are 932 Concentrics, tank and side covers are from perhaps 65 ( big home market tank with indentations for cables ). This bike has a 3 phase alternator with solid state regulator rectifier and Boyer E.I. with dual lead Suzuki coil. Wiring is new, switches are aftermarket. Everything works together, I was lucky enough to find original, light BSA + 20 pistons for this engine.
You've made a lovely job of this build Mark. You'll get plenty of pleasure from riding your BSA. In case you decide to film your rides I've subscribed 👍
Thanks so much; getting good motion camera gear is one of those "getting a round tuit" things that I never seem to get around to. The main thing is getting something with a remote microphone that you can shield from the wind. But I do have one short motion video from a few years back, before the last rebuild and with quieter silencers. It's titled "BSA A65 "Bitsa" on the road". It's under the name Debra Goble and so not in my "Videos" list. I also have a recent "drive-by" video which I will post. Cheers,
@MarkZielenski Thanks Mark. As a previous owner back in the 60s and 70s of an A65 (built like yours from bits) I know exactly how much you put into the build to achieve what you have. The wonderful thing about filming your rides is that you get to be able to enjoy them again - just as I am my own, this afternoon here in the North West of the UK as its dark and wet. My camera isn't expensive and the built in microphone picks up the sounds really well. I have to say I'm just so envious of your BSA. 🤗.
@@Lanes-Explorer5733 I'm happy to share the videos, and sorry to hear your BSA days are in the past. I checked and saw I also have the "drive-by" video posted; it was taken on the same day as this one. It's entitled "BSA A65 "Bitsa" drive-by"; enjoy!
😮I’ve never liked the term bitsa. It’s something pedantic anoraks say when they’re trying to buy something cheap. that’s a lovely bike that you’ve made your own.
Nice of you to say James. I don't mind the term, but I know what you mean. A few years ago I met a couple of "collectors" at the Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio, and when I started describing my bike, they said "Oh, a Frankenbike" and immediately lost all interest. I don't plan to ever sell this bike, so I don't care much what anyone thinks of it. FWIW, I've noticed that the most positive reactions come from mechanics.
Good looking bike, crisp motor, hope mine sounds as good when I put it back together.

Motor sounds tight. Speedo looks neat.
