I wondered if you are maybe a touch nose heavy with having to max out your elevator trim. Also the way it landed and the snap roll didn't seem quite right. I had a pitts in the past and that thing snap rolled like no other plane I've owned. I could be wrong though. Great flight and great plane!! Love your videos
I been subbed to you guys for a few years I think and for some reason…. I don’t recall any comments with regard to Abby’s very important but sometimes overlooked contribution to the channel….. Wow!! That’s a bold statement! I love hearing about a person’s all time (or current) favorite thing to fly 😁😁 I’m definitely going to put more time in on this plane. It just feels so scale and sporty at the same time, right!? What would you say is your favorite thing/ s about this plane?
@@TheRcSaylors I love how this plane looks both in the sky and on the ground. My club members always compliment how good it looks. I just noticed it went to back order, I went to order myself a backup because it’s so good I want to have a spare in the barn just in case…
You guys are so fun to watch! That FMs Pitts of yours reminds me so much of the plane that used to hang in the window of our local hobby shop. It looked just like yours, but a little smaller. He had it hanging there for probably 40 years. I always wanted that thing since I was a little kid. I just bought a Timber X 1.2m through your link a couple weeks ago and I'm excited to fly it. Right or wrong, it's my first plane. I fell in love with it on the simulator. Greetings from Ohio
that was a pretty good first landing with that plane. it would definitely upgrade to a low bounce tire for the mains and a rubber tail wheel. it'll help a lot with the landings!
Great looking plane. FMS is on the ball. I think they build great models. Love the ball links they use. Nice Maiden. As for the “Nathaniel Stall”, hey it make a longer video for us to enjoy. Better safe than sorry. Take the time you need. Great video. Thank you and God bless.
I been watching you two for years, You guy's are so cool I'm always impressed by what you do seriously, I get the best information from you and God bless you and your family also.
Nicely done Nat. The Pitts is a truly beautiful and impressive airplane (the real one)...and it looks like FMS has captured is nearly perfect. I love biplanes...they are so "artistic" looking in the air (Scale?). Extra nice job considering it wasn't possible to get it trimmed exactly in the air. Your pilot skills (and Abby's filming skills) are sufficient you should design/fly a full aerobatic routine WITH music (you can do it). Landing was fine (maybe closer to 20% throttle?). Even better to know you have had an excellent "spiritual" day...because as wonderful as this hobby is, and as much fun as can be had...being in a positive spiritual state with our Creator is the most important thing there is. Blessings to the whole RC Saylors family.
Flies like it's on rails just like the little UMX. Good to see the design of the plane can perform at all scales. It's such a beautiful looking bi plane and the red just pops.
This Pitts is Awesome!!! I have upgraded the ESC to Avian 100A so I could have battery telemetry. The motor is not over amped. It's the same motor on the 1.5m Eflite P-51 Smart Mustang from what ive researched. The vertical power is definitely better. I put in a FMS Digital Metal Gear servo on the rudder.. The analog stock one is a Lil weak after a very few sliding/hopping crosswind landings.. My hammerheads seemed smoother after the upgrade.. Otherwise Excellent Great Plane!! It's tame until you play with the sticks whether you are just buzzing around or flying scale... I get about a 9min flight on Smart G2 5000mah 6S battery just putting around with mild aerobatics. I removed the FMS Reflex unit and put in a Spektrum AR631 receiver, all of the default Safe limits and As3x gains are just about right, and I probably won't adjust them through the forward programming on mine.
What a beautiful setting to fly that beautiful plane! frogs making noise, fog in the background .The only thing missing is some rc scale Landing lights for the runway during the changing conditions 🤣🙏✌
Just ordered one from the FMS Labor Day sale. Couldn't pass up the price. Plus I have lots of 6s 5200 packs to use for it. Love the UMX Pitts and the 850mm Pitts...the circle is now complete.
It's big & colorful easy to see even with gray gloomy skies. It looked like it handled well & did all you asked of it. Nice flying & very nice feminine touch on the videoing as usual. Have a good weekend Saylor's. ⚓⚓👍💚💜💛👍⚓⚓.
Actually, considering you were fighting elevator trim, that landing with a bit of throttle was pretty good. Trying landing in low rates and adding 30% expo on elevator, drop that thing in nicely. Now once the tail touches…game is on with the rudder.
I love my FMS Pitts, it look so great in the sky. But mine (and the one in the link) comes with FMS's own Reflex gyro that only need you to add either a normal rx or a SBUS type rx, and it works very well.
It's quite likely he's using the FMS reflex. I believe Nate at times uses the terms AS3X and SAFE in a generic sense to describe all gyro equipped planes because that's what he's most use to with Spektrum equipped planes.
Nice landing! It's hard to land the Pitts without a bounce or three. It a fantastic model to fly. Real stable and yet fun and capable. So will we se a balsa Pitts in the future? ;)
Great video as usual! I was curious though. I see you review (almost) all e-flite products, and I was curious why you don't review any Freewing or HSDJets products? I've purchased all the e-flite products that I'm interested in and have started to move to the larger 90mm+ EDF jets and 2000mm+ prop planes. Just curious if there was a deeper reason, thats all. Keep up the great work!!! Shout out to Abby. "Hi, Abby!!"
@@TheFrenchPug It might be. I'm always open to expanding my options though. I was going to get the e-flite 2.100mm cessna but I didn't want the taildragger version. When I looked into the tricycle option, the parts are backordered till Sept. (I was looking into it back in March). I did a LOT of research and settled on the HSDJets 182. I'm glad I did. It is so detailed and has breaks. I think it might be good to review that even though its a couple of years old. But, its still available to buy. One thing I don't like about e-flite is they discontinue planes. So, parts can get scarce sometimes.
@@nick_doutrnz_entertainment Oh wow. That would be cool of you did a video on it. You're right on E Flight. They also do version 2s that don't get sold before all of the version 1s are sold to unsuspecting buyers.
Had one , lasted 8 flying minuets , elevator servo stripped the plastic gears , quick nose dive into the ground , complained to FMS and they replaced the plane free of charge , first thing I did on the replacement was to change the elevator servo with the metal gear one from the FMS Me 109 ( part number :- FMSSER17MGD available from Ali Express ) also weak point is the wheel axel due to the " C clip groove " , other than that lovely plane to fly
Had a similar thing happen to my new FMS Cub! A lot of people said it was my fault, but it was due to a faulty servo, same as you! Sorry about your crash, but I’m glad to know I’m not alone. Happy Flying 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors I too have the FMS Cub 1700mm , replaced the wheels TOO big , also changed the servo on this one , plus the Beaver and A10 , all from FMS , you pay for quality you get quality , love your videos but let your camera crew ( Abby ) on film more please , lastly you make me envious of all your hard runways in the US , I have to fly off rough grass moorland in the UK , Happy flying
Love your videos. A little constructive criticism if I may. You really need to do rudder training on takeoff. These biplanes, Cubs, etc can really bite ya if your not using the rudder especially on takeoff. Practice, practice. On the landing too, you had miles of strip left so let it run out. “Fly” the plane all the way and let it settle and roll out. Have fun and smooth air always!
Replace the elevator and rudder servos with the FMS Digital Metal Gear servos on the site, they're the same size. The elevator especially will strip out the plastic gear stock servo.
NOTICE -------- see below for what is kind of a spam comment and I apologize but I really think I have an idea that could add some fun to the flight of future bi-planes. I am posting this message into any relatively newly posted large scale bi-plane video. I have been watching bi-plane videos for a couple of weeks trying to get a feel of just how big of a bi-plane I will ultimately want to fly. I am completely out of my element and a total newbie to RC aviation. So I just had something pop up in my frontal lobe and I really think it would be a huge fan favorite at your next air show. Ok..... here we go. Build a large to scale barn with a gambrel roof (thats the kind of curved downward one) and have doors on each side open so you can come in and rocket through the barn.... Thus Barn Storming in RC..... would be Bitchin'!!. The other thing I have noticed and I cannot figure out why I haven't seen it on any planes yet is to have a to scale "wing-walker" either strapped to the support that is mounted to the top wing...... or have one out in the wires in the wing.... Now for the really cool finally, have the person attached to the top wing brace and have a release mechanism so that you can roll inverted and dump them off. The model wingwalker has a parachute and glides down to the ground..... If I was flying a plane as of now I would have it part of my show.......Could be pretty cool if you could drop the wingwalker off at almost maximum altitude and calculate drift and try to land them on the runway. A large red X on the runway and see who can land their wingwalker the closest. I bet that someone out there will do something like this if they catch wind of this or if you spread the word to all of your friends that fly bi-planes. I often wondered why you guys do not drop paint balls or flour bombs as a competition of accuracy. Ok.... I'll shut up now. Peace c
All very fun ideas! I’ve never thought about the wing walker, but that would be really cool to see. Might need a larger plane than this to keep it scale, if using something like a Barbie. I always thought it’d be cool to parachute a Barbie or GI Joe out of an RC plane. 👍😁😎⚓️
Nice looking plane. I've almost completed my 1400mm balsa tiger moth. I found an old, but new in box saito fa-80 gk to put in it. It's a little big for the plane, and the landing gear doesn't look ecstatic about the extra weight. I'm hoping my maiden goes at least as well as yours. As usual liked the video, and appreciate you always giving thanks to God
ive had this plane for a while now and the rudder elevator and alierons will fall off after about 2 months get some nylon hinges and youll be set. oh and upgrade to a 16x8 prop and itd be a lot better lol
Those are beautiful craft I had one and the ultra Blue hawk as well. I remember when I had a balsa wood kit. But I had a super tiger 3000 in it. I miss nitro or gas crafts. I still have two 1/5 scale AT-6 Texans and a ultra hot craft it may be fiberglass hole and foam core wings. But the AT Texans run with g62 engines and the ultra hots runs on a super tiger 3000. And I might add the super tiger runs 25 oz in 8 minutes. Just saying. And if you would like a balsa wood kit in electric for speed try the slingshot. The slingshot. It's still considered a pylon racer. But I think you could handle it. It's around 135 miles an hour
Watched many of your videos but with u putting the king of kings an lord of lords 1st that just made watching yall that much easier! Without him we are lost.....
Anytime I test flew a new model be it my airplane or someone else's airplane (I test flew a lot of models) I ALWAYES took the model to altitude and slowed it down to see what it's stall characteristics are, I would fly high altitude simulated landing approaches to see if the model wanted to drop a wing when it got slow. Then I would fly my landing according to how it handled when it was slowed down, if it had a tendency to drop a wing during slow flight I would hold a little more speed on finial approach, over the years it saved a few models on their first flight.
@@louispetherbridge9754 I call it 3 mistakes high, I like to have enough altitude that I can make mistakes while trying to recover from an unplanned event.
That can definitely help, but in this case it really did need to be trimmed quite a bit. Also, the battery in this particular model is in a “removable tray” which makes it a little more difficult to adjust for CG. Happy Flying my friend 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors in the old days Nate, we would reduce the amount of down thrust by adjusting or shimming the motor mounts slightly. There’s always been something off putting to me about an elevator that can’t sit inline with the rest of the tail in order to remain “neutral” while flying.
To be fair, I think my elevator was pointing down just a touch on this maiden, but I hear you and know what you mean! I almost wish sometimes that I could slow the world down and have the time to truly build an airplane like the good old days and experience making adjustments like you mentioned. How rewarding it must have felt to finally get it all built right and running/ flying smoothly! 😎⚓️
55" bipe with a 6 cell turning a 15x9 prop. I would guess it's a 10cc-15cc gas equivalent - 20cc for performance. On the Model AV8R channel he went with a Zor 16x8 getting 1295 watts @54.7 Ah static.
@@lancesmith6724 Sure. I was looking the plane's performance and how that would reflect to IC power. Their reading of 1295 watts converts to ~1.7 hp. Looks like 2 cycle gas 10cc are in that output range. 10cc is ~.60 cubic inches. So I would say it's a 60 size airframe. And being a bipe, with the add drag, a 15cc should be a good performance to weight power plant.
Great video showing off a maiden flight of this fabulous model. Thus this leads into being another flight video showing off what this aircraft is fully capable of. ^_= (hint hint wink wink) 🤠🤩
Losi Mega just hit the channel 7 days ago, which was a sweet video if we do say so ourselves 👍😁😎⚓️ Then just a week before that we did a speed run on it. And before that were two new Arrmas. But yes, we plan on having more ground vehicles soon as well!
@@TheRcSaylors i must admit though if i were to own any they would have to be warbirds there's just something about them hey also what happened to the truck you started to build on livestreams and the yacht that you had if i was over there where you are id of built them for you
Sometimes (almost always) Abby does the title, description box, etc… and occasionally she may do this right after a nap (growing a human inside of her) with minutes to spare before releasing a video… 😬🙄 At these times, we may see a title change down the road on this type of situation…. 😂😂😅 It’s all in the timing to tell a pregnant woman that she is WRONG about something. 😱😁⚓️

Very nice Nat!,
It's almost as big as a full-scale Pitts 😁
Great Flight!
That sort of Thing, Yum.

Replace the elevator and rudder servos with the FMS Digital Metal Gear servos on the site, they're the same size. The elevator especially will strip out the plastic gear stock servo.
There is just SOMETHING about a BI they are amazing looking in the air.
cool biplane!
Peace
c
All very fun ideas! I’ve never thought about the wing walker, but that would be really cool to see. Might need a larger plane than this to keep it scale, if using something like a Barbie. I always thought it’d be cool to parachute a Barbie or GI Joe out of an RC plane. 👍😁😎⚓️
Bruh this was awsome
Nice looking plane. I've almost completed my 1400mm balsa tiger moth. I found an old, but new in box saito fa-80 gk to put in it. It's a little big for the plane, and the landing gear doesn't look ecstatic about the extra weight. I'm hoping my maiden goes at least as well as yours. As usual liked the video, and appreciate you always giving thanks to God
Sorry, great job. I forgot to say that. She looks real good.
Thanks Brother! 👍😁😎⚓️
I wish they made more biplanes, like a nice slow trainer biplane at a not crazy price
Would be nice
What do you think about the new Standard Remote ID rule coming into effect? Have you made a video on it and how to comply?
Wireless mics? Sound quality Excellent!
Thanks Ken!! 👍😁😎⚓️
Nice plane is there a nother power source to up the fly time with out burning out the motor?
Which one do you prefer between this one and the Eflite Extra?
cool plane and flight,i have the smaller one,the 850mm,wold love to have a big one like that one day
HEY. WHEN YOU LIFTED THE PLANE UP. WAS IT A BOY OR A GIRL. BEAUTIFUL PLANE. THAT MIGH BE MY NEXT PURCHASE.
ive had this plane for a while now and the rudder elevator and alierons will fall off after about 2 months get some nylon hinges and youll be set. oh and upgrade to a 16x8 prop and itd be a lot better lol
The strips make it deceptive
Hi saylors... hoping you enjoy the munchkin set and diapers I sent congrats on the new baby love the channel
Late squad today happy flying all ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️😎😎😎😎😎
Those are beautiful craft I had one and the ultra Blue hawk as well.
Trump?
I like me some Bi Planes. Looking forward to your next flight with this one. Any chance you have a Red Baron?
Been I while since I have watched your vids, got out of it for a while but want this plane.
Do you like this Pitts or the Gloster Gladiator best and why?
MARANATHA !!
Thanks for watching! 👍😁😎⚓️
I wonder if this fits fully assembled in the back of a bronco sport? If not, I may have to get the eflite one
Back seats down? I’d say yes absolutely. Ours fits in a Honda Pilot very well 👍😁😎⚓️
Sure would like to see ya take off again after that rudder trim bro.
Don’t worry, I plan on flying this again soon on the channel 😉👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors well alright, Gigity Gitigy.

Nate checking if the plane is male or female.
Oh my gosh, lol!! This is hilarious!! 😂😂😅⚓️
This is smart, imma do this when my new plane gets here
Height is safety , plenty of time to correct any problems
@@louispetherbridge9754 I call it 3 mistakes high, I like to have enough altitude that I can make mistakes while trying to recover from an unplanned event.
Hello do you fell this plane with lot power???
I’m Batman!
Woot! Batman got first! 👍😁😎⚓️
Damn that’s something “special”
I have the 850mm and I want this 1400 but I'm out of room😭
That's the problem with planes. They're not drones.
I have the exact same problem. But if I had to choose just one… It would be the 850mm.
Instead of manually trimming up elevator, try sliding the battery back a 1/4”
That can definitely help, but in this case it really did need to be trimmed quite a bit.
Bi-curious plane.
that runway could use a repave...lol
I lose wheels all the time on grass.
Aahhahaha!
Unreal CCBZRG, stay Psyched on Happy Friend.
Yeah that would be nice but we are just grateful to have what we do. Maybe we should start a Go Fund Me or something!? 🤔🤷♂️⚓️
is it a 40 size or 60 size
55" bipe with a 6 cell turning a 15x9 prop. I would guess it's a 10cc-15cc gas equivalent - 20cc for performance. On the Model AV8R channel he went with a Zor 16x8 getting 1295 watts @54.7 Ah static.
@@icin4dwell when my dad use to build kits they went by size or scale!
In the old days I would have put a .90 or a 1.08 in it. Could have probably got by with a .60 but probably would have been a bit anemic
Robin!?
Great video showing off a maiden flight of this fabulous model. Thus this leads into being another flight video showing off what this aircraft is fully capable of. ^_= (hint hint wink wink) 🤠🤩
Hi nate when you havin trucks on again
Losi Mega just hit the channel 7 days ago, which was a sweet video if we do say so ourselves 👍😁😎⚓️ Then just a week before that we did a speed run on it. And before that were two new Arrmas. But yes, we plan on having more ground vehicles soon as well!
@@TheRcSaylors nice one nate as i dont fly planes dont even own one and have never flew one either lol
@@TheRcSaylors i must admit though if i were to own any they would have to be warbirds there's just something about them hey also what happened to the truck you started to build on livestreams and the yacht that you had if i was over there where you are id of built them for you
Great flight, but I'm not sure what the hyperbole in the title referred to. Nothing happened that would lead me to disbelief.
@@TheRcSaylors Abby is never wrong, you big silly
