That is a rare gem you got there Calv, congrats man! Before you chuck it into storage I would advise to get the little bits of rust sorted as it will only get worse and be more expensive in the long run.
It’s an E46. If he’s got rust in the places you’re currently seeing it then theres a lot more rust to be found. Especially as it lived in Scotland!

Best that you keep this car Calvin, even if for only 1 year, you will probably add another £5k to £10k if you get the paint done. Lovely car.

This ticks every calv box cause it’s rare and sets you apart from the crowd. Cherish it.
Whilst it is super rare in that spec and such low miles, shame it has beeen in Scotland, the rust round the bootlid and rear arches mean the underneath may be hiding a lot more corrosion. Lovely colour combo.
I bought a manual with all the options back in 2009. Great memories of that car.

Sorry but I disagree with most of comments here, other than the fairly low mileage I don’t think that’s a great car tbh, really poor condition with the rusty bits, the mot history is pretty poor also. Everyone saying find another one, as an ex CS owner trust me there are some gems out there. This car might have one owner but that owner to my mind hasn’t really looked after that car very well, maybe my standards are just to high.
Loved my E46 CS. Having owned 2 E46 M3’s before the CS, I was genuinely blown away by how much better the CS drove with the small changes BMW bestowed on them.
Calv, don’t part with this , keep it and dry store it . With so little made, this will be a car of automotive historical significance . Fabulous find, jealous !
Calv, can you get this up on a ramp and give us an inspection video. The rust bubbles make me wonder whether anything lurking beneath particularly being a Scottish car where road salt is used more widely.

I swear he's had more E46 M3s than I have had personal cars and I'm up in the 30's!
Smg is heavily underrated, yes it has its issues but you take it on track and you'll realise what its about and if you drive it as you would a manual, warm the car up properly before you drive, get used to it a bit and you'll have no grumbles. Mines let me down once in nearly 9 years, 99k miles now & it simply over heated on a warm day. Expensive to replace, but 9/10 times its just the motor, and motors wont last forever.
one of my dream cars right there. get the rust sorted, retrim wheel, and fit csl/eventuri airbox and its perfect.

This car has got to be a car to keep, shame it has been living in Scotland due to poor weather and the corrosion. Reccomend car is given thorough inspection for corrosion..

When I bought an E46 M3 I wanted a cs but they were the top of the budget. Tried one and it was not the best, few miles on it. So went on condition.. not a CS and a grand or two in the back burner. Little did I know ha😁. The button on the steering wheel I think is MDM which allows more slip on the traction control. You can get it coded in on an E46. But standard on the csl and C's. Anyways nice car ....I want.... can't afford lol 👍

I know the guy who sold it to you!! Shame about the rust, because of where we live next to the seaside rust is a matter of when not if but an absolutely stunning car and going to miss seeing it on the oban road!!

definitely dont sell this on calvin, get a container at binca, insulate it, and then park it inside close the doors and leave it for those early sunday mornin blasts down the b-roads! keeps the milage down but still use it!
With cars like that if you are ever unsure whether to part ways with it or not there’s only one choice, keep it. You’ll never lose any value by keeping it and we’ve all sold something too early on and lived with the regret to date

Ive been looking at e46 m3 lately as well but being honest they can and are a bit of a money pit to own which is putting me off. Obviously not an issue if you're in the trade like Calvin. But that CS has a lot of potential for an investment and sort after car in the future.

Keep it Pal, very low mileage and prices will go up also you could drive upto 60k and still make money. I would think at the moment 50k in two or three years time 70k plus 👍
