I also kinda like the idea of the legacy of the winning clan's victory is immortalized by a mere statue, with people jogging and going to work around it, not giving a single crap about the glory of the past. It's like, Yay, you win! Who cares?
Nah, it's more like people don't think too much about the past: your Ikko-ikki only yashigaru campaign probably shaped the history and culture of modern japan but I don't think the devs had the budget to show you that. Oh and you'll have a whole chapter on uninteresting, overpriced and obsolete SCHOOLBOOKS about you.
You can see the clan symbol in the background. So I assume that the winning clan leaves a big mark on Japanese culture even if they are no longer in power.
I really wish that once you upgraded your generals all the way to either the warrior path or the Legend/Strategist path, that his appearance would change. The warrior path should have the general look like the Hero units with a little more Pazaz, and the Legend path should have the General just be sitting in he back where you deploy him like in the trailer with just overly complex and decorative armor. I just think that would make the generals in the game even more unique
a year late but thats because the ending statue is based of a real statue of takeda shingen in kofu, i like how they made the statue based out of the real version since its cool to imagine that in another time line, that statue is in place of tokugawa's statue (which by the way, his ending statue is a real thing and also in the right place)
In the original Shogun Total War, the victory video actually tells you what happened after the new Shogun unified Japan. I find the new videos in Shogun 2 a bit generic. The lines they say could very well be from a Warhammer video game.
It's every Total War really, for some reason they can make all of these different intros but can't make a unique outro. In Rome they had a couple endings, rebranded to fit each faction, in Medieval 2 they had one ending edited differently each time, in Empire they really had 3 endings, all generic except for the Ottoman one etc.. I don't know, why are new recordings so difficult to come by? Why can't they record one for each faction? I mean, i really wish the outros were more satisfying because nothing makes your campaign feel worthless quite like an anticlimactic outro.
@KubernetePirata and yeah......they sometimes say "learn english" well hell i will say to them "do you know how to speak Tagalog,Arabic,Maranao?" and they doesn't know how,at least us we knew how to speak their Languages while them they don't know how to speak ours.
@KubernetePirata it depends on the accent........and the international pronunciation for Shogun is "ShowGun" because the Westerners can't pronounce it properly.
ok how do you become shogun..cos the only options ive ever got was vasslization...and then everyone turned on me...even though i was only a ally in the war!
@KubernetePirata maybe you are right, I studied German, it is only thing i know, but you should prove it) Please give me some link about "sh" if you have some info about this rule,
@KubernetePirata hey pal, whatever you say, but they don't use "shi" but "si". Not Shogun but Segun. Don't believe me? Ok, use google translater, type Shogun and hear what they say))))
The great warriors who once marched this land....are now sitting in the park....
"Our legacy to last ten thousand years!"
Or until 1868 when the Emperor just took control back from the Shoguns, whichever comes first.

I like his voice out of all the clans
OH YEAH! TAKEDA WILL RULE THIS WORLD AND EVEN MORE!!! LONG LIVE TAKEDA SINGEN!
Now the monument for the takeda makes sense, a statue of Shingen and his massive battle fan.

This statue of Shingen exists in modern day Kai region in Japan
interesting how the bamboo doesnt change and neither does that statue after several hundred years
Odd how with some of the clans having the daimyo on horseback, the Takeda our of all things are one of the clans that lack a horse in their statue

Same with the Date stature

Takeda FTW!!!
@KubernetePirata japanees don't say shi but si, for example not sushi but susi, and if you don't rust me, you can ask anyone from there. gl
thats cool at the end.
takeda is family to the emperor
Large number of the clans are distant relatives and cadet branches of the Imperial line
