    I have a dachshund and everyone who meets him says he’s the most well behaved dog they’ve ever met. It’s all thanks to the training methods I learned from Victoria 😆❤️

    when I was in high school, my family took in a 7 month old dachshund who had been thru 4 other homes and we were told that he was "impossible to potty train." turns out that the little dude just had weak bladder control and it would just kind of dribble out as he walked if it was too full, and just needed to be let out more often than our other dogs. Accidents would happen but it wasn't his fault. We had him for the rest of his life (almost 16 years!) and he was a great addition to the family. (we were also told that he didn't eat people food but legit stole pizza out of my dad's mouth the very first night, we decided the woman we got him from was a terrible cook lol)

    My neighbours have these two dogs, some kind of Terrier mix and a Dachshund and omg are they the most annoying dogs I've ever met! It's clear they're insecure and poorly socialized, they will start the aggressive alarm barking even when I come out to my backyard to hang out some laundry
    It's extremely annoying but since learning from Victoria, I can't help but feel really sorry for the dogs because it's not their fault that they weren't socialized as puppies. It's not their fault they can't cope when they hear noise. It's really sad.

    Victoria, my little dog barks and scares parcel and postal deliverers if they happen to arrive when she is outside playing in her invisible fenced in area. There's no way I can catch her. She's very fast, I'm unable to run. When someone comes with notice, I put her on leash and in a little bit she calms down, but that's not possible when I have no clue someone's about to show up. Can this touch idea work to change this? She ignores treats when excited. Or, is there something else I can do to keep her from terrorizing delivery people?

    • @pawpkitty
      @pawpkitty 9 месяцев назад +1

      I would say take her for walks for everything. I find fenced yards can contribute to barrier anxiety. It worked for me.

      @@pawpkitty Thanks. I wish I could. My husband is disabled. I don't get out but once a week to run errands, get groceries when a sitter comes. We are rural, so walking would see no other dog or person, likely, but could run into coyotes

    It is so cruel and mean to subject viewers to barking dogs through half the show. At the very least, you could’ve adjusted the auxiliary the audio to dampen the sound… because this should’ve been such a lovely episode and it was horrible because of the barking.
    We got the point within the first two minutes of the show . we really didn’t need it throughout.

    ENOUGH with over-complicating dog problems trying to present the solution as magic. Teaching obedience, like "touch" does not resolve unwanted behaviors. Obedience and behavior modification are two COMPLETELY different things. Two words.... Bark Collar. Problem solved.... PERIOD!!! After that, there are standard protocols for resolving resource guarding that are quick and extremely effective. if you want to COMPLETELY change your relationship with the dog, a positive-only trainer is NOT going to accomplish that. A competent balanced trainer will blow these owners away as to how quickly and completely they can change their lives!! As an example, having ALL of your guests throw food to your dog as the first thing you do is centering YOUR lives and OTHERS' lives around the dog instead of establishing the proper relationship with the dog in which the dog looks to YOU as their leader instead of the other way around. The protocol presented in this video is just INSANE and is not fair to the owners or to the dog. Great TV production. Not great dog training.
